PHOTONEWS:Auchi Armed Robbery

Armed bandits yesterday raided three banks and destroyed a police outpost in Auchi Edo state.

Eyewitnesses said the robbers invaded Auchi through Wareke-Auchi road after dislodging a Nigerian  Army checkpoint leading to Auchi township.

The armed robbers then proceeded to raze down  the Auchi Police command after successfully robbing GT and Access banks in the town.

A bank manager from GT bank was kidnapped and later released.

Two soldiers and several civilians including students of the Auchi Polytechnic were reportedly injured.

@akpos1- I wonder why you

@akpos1- I wonder why you have to take it personally with Vincent! Should it be that everybody that is outside Nigeria studying is doing so from stolen money> You better wise up and stop the hate and jealousy if you really want to be 1 as your name implies-akpos1

Not only aboki

They are all thesame. On sept 9 , we had to wait for almost an hour just because of n50. We were on our way to wedding ceremory in zaria when two soldiers, clearly idendified by their names as igbos, stopped us for an hour and missed the wedding as a result.

sack and disband npf?

Lol sacking npf will solve the problem bikonu?i just love reading some of the coments here, some say a failed social contract between govt and the citizen hahahahahaha some even say rip naija but which way forward?

@ Vincent-- You must be very stupid

Vincent, who cares where you watched it from? Is that anybody's business?

This explains why you failed your exams in Nigeria before your Daddy was able to send you abroad with his stolen SS oil money.

Nonsense!

You did not hear of the London riots & how Londoners behaved like animals breaking into pple's shops? You did not hear of the guy who killed several ppl at a party in the US? Don't they have police in those areas?

Idiot!!

Long live the SS & SE republic

A failed social contract!

Since the government of the day has failed to guarantee the safety of lives & property, the social contract between them & the people is no longer in existence. Every citizen of Nigera should go on an individual, solitary search for his protection & other needs. Above all, we must watch & pray at all times!

Nigeria National Identity

Thieving has become our national Culture and Identity. The politician robs, soldier robs, civilian robs, civil servants, ministers, governors, police, Journalists, Jugdes, Pastors, overseers, everybody rob the other(s) with any weapons at their disposal. The Country has become one big scam of a nation. Like a group of rat, Nigerians(civil servant, politician including presidents and governors, police and judges) go out every morning in search of something to steal. We have become a "rat" race. we need to see ourselves in this light, maybe we will start reflecting upon our ways.

I was on my way to Port

I was on my way to Port harcourt from warri when I ran into 2 solders mounting a checkpoint with guns. One of them, an aboki hausa, directed the car I was in to park and a couple of other vehicles along with us. Tell me if he could have been able to stop such armed robbery. The hausa soldier was so angry and was ready to shoot an innocent passenger. In the end, he collected a N1000 from our driver.

I was in Nigeria to get my fiancee. I'm glad I was able to leave in peace and not in pieces. I'm done with Nigeria at least for the next foreseeable years. Nigeria is like a walking zombie. The leaders are not ready to lead. No one is immune to this. Even the so-called leaders will reap what they sow.

Absolute Shame

Just watched this news on NTA via Ben TV in London and am in total shock! This is a total shame on the part of the security agencies for not being able to stop a group of robbers and allowing them to operate for 3 good hours!!

In fact all the head of the security agencies in that locality should be immediately fired and send packing including the police officer that responded to the NTA.

Shame, shame, shame Nigeriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

SELF-CENTERED LEADERS

We should free ourselves from SENTIMENTS and tell this GENTLEMEN(Jonathan & Sambo) that they are not CAPABLE. They are sorounded by unpatriotic and self-centered fellows. The result of what is happening now shows clearly that the whole country is on a KEG OF GUN POWDER. How will ARMED ROBBERS spend hours carrying out their operations without any hinderance? Though TUKUR(PDP CHAIR) said the party he is heading is not a security outfit( Can a FOOT SOLDIER OF TRANSFORMATION TALK LIKE THIS?). We should wake up please.

Somalia is crazy

What part of Somalia did this one happen again??

Disband Nigerian police, Sack all of them.

Please, disband the entire Nigerian Police. Sack all of them. They can't catch thieves. Nigerian police is a failure!

WHAT HAPPENED IN JOS ?

A surprise, there was an attack at a drinking joint in jos, where the eye witnesses said the attackers came in military uniform in a Hilux pickup. The people in the area insisting that the attackers were Nigerian soldiers because the bullet catreges found at the place wore Nigerian Army emblem. But since the date(26-11-12) the attack took place to the time I post this comment Online Newspaper carried the story, so why?

What other qualification does

What other qualification does our dear country needs to be declared a FAILED STATE. Boko haram on Sunday, and Monday morning, armed robbers in the evening, may be another gruesome incident today, bad roads, epileptic power supply with increasing tariffs by passing of each day, persistent fuel scarcity, free looting, embezzlement, siphoning, and Ote-Faroukgate (bribery)and with all these we still call our self giant of Africa, giant indeed. Well, God can still redeem Nigeria and deliver us all.

Porous security system

It's highly disheartening that the Nigerian security system is so porous that they have consistently become the target for armed robbers and bokoharamists. Time will tell.
