The Editor: Our attention has again been drawn to yet another publication of Saharareporters as published on February 3, 2010 with the above caption. We are worried that a parliamentary proceeding that was recorded leading to a democratic decision would be interpreted as manipulated by Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole the Speaker, in a House of 360 members.
Indeed, following insinuation that Bankole will never allow any motion on compelling the President to obey section 145 of the 1999 Constitution, the Speaker did everything to ensure that the motion of Hon. Mohammed Sani Abdul, which was initially rejected as out of order, was debated amidst very vocal opposition that House Rules be adhere to.
To allow the motion to be debated, the Speaker allowed another motion to suspend ALL House Rules barring the motion to be debated.
During the debate proper the Speaker recognized three members each to speak for or against the motion. When he put the question, the “NAY” carried the day and the House adjourned as it was part of the resolution suspending the House Rules that the issues be the sole item to be worked on for the day.
Copy of the House Hansard presenting the house proceedings verbatim will be posted to you in due course for publication.
The whole process was democratic and the resolution that of the majority of members. Speaker Bankole alone cannot shoot down the motion or any motion for that matter.
On the issue of moving N100 million “to stymie any opposition in the House against Yar’Adua” we state there is no truth whatever in the allegation meant to support the notion that Bankole manipulated the motion.
Thank you sir.

... Bankole or what do they call you, you better listen to this adage. He who tears the crown of honour lives to wear the mast of sorrow. Now you have lifted your father up, let us see if his THING will not damage your eyes. All Yorubas believe in democracy and good governance except Bankole who goes about collecting bribes and extorting good leaders. God of Nija will strike you dead Bankole. You are a complete failure to Nigeria Youths. IDIOT! |

... Bankole is an unrepentant criminal capable of distabilising the system. Can you imagine he was one of the first persons to rush to pledge loyalty to Goodluck. You had better watched your back, else you will fall like AGF and Soludo. |

... ATTN: DIMEJI BANKOLE & KAYODE ODUNARO Here is an opportunity for Bankole to act if indeed he beleives in his conscience that he is working for the people! Here are questions from the 3G-group. Dont look the other way now and start acting when is is politically inevitable to save your face! Oya..thats what you get paid for by taxPayer money. Answer these questions: 1) Establish the exact whereabouts of President Umaru Musa Yar’adua and determine the exact status of his health; (2) Identify the different persons behind the decision to transfer the President abroad and the various roles they may have played in misinforming the public; (3) In the event that President Yar’adua is considered medically unfit or incapable of carrying out the functions of President, to declare him so and swear in Acting President Jonathan sworn in as President and Commander-in-Chief. |

... "odunaro" or "odunoro" (that is oro fesitival) or what do you call yourself. Just note this that, " men evil deeds are written in brass, the good ones on water, if you are right nobody knows, but if you get it wrong no one forgets". Be on the side of history as posterity will surely jugde us, no escape. You will surely reap just what you sow, high in the mountain, deep in thy valley, you will reap just what you sow. A word is enough for the wise. |

... BANKOLE WILL FAIL! That the speaker has played the role of boy boy to the Yaradua regime is an open secret. But he should remember that history will judge him harshly. His predecessors in office fought for the interests of their region, the North. Although Masari was sponsored by Obasanjo because the North told him that they do not want 3rd term for Obasanjo, Masari refused to support Obasanjo. But Bankole is ready to do anything his Fulani masters ask him to do even if against the interests of the Yorubas and Nigerians as a whole. This week will decide if Bankole will go the way of traitors in history or not. Either he likes it or not, Yaradua has gone. |

... I really pity Odunaro cos he is saddled with a dirty job of drycleaning an extremely corrupt and clueless young man like Bankole who thinks money is an end in itself. His ambition to rule Ogun State after OGD is really driving him crazy.Of all the political image launderers, Odunaro's must be the most unenviable. Even, when you were laundering the destructive military govs, you never did so much. One thing is clear, there is no amount of marketing that you could embark upon to push a bad product, especially one like Bankole. |

... I found it astonishing that the Nigerian legislooters can't use the modern electronic device available to them in the house to register their vote. This system will make sure that each person's vote is recorded and an audit trail is kept for record purpose. But the legislooters all manipulated their elections to secure their various seats. This is why they continue to use an outdated Nae and Yae system which is a fraudulent practice as there is no record of their votes. |
