Boko Haram Attacks Jigawa Police Station, Guns Down Minor

By SaharaReporters, New York

Members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect on Tuesday night attacked Birniwa Police Station, in the Birniwa local government area in Jigawa State.

The militants numbered over 20, but Police Commissioner Hashim Argungu, who confirmed the attack, said that the group’s Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) failed to detonate, although one of the policemen received gunshot wounds and a minor was shot dead.

Birniwa local government area has a long stretch of boundary with Yobe State, which is another hub of the sect, in addition to Borno State.

Do we have to carry crude oil Abroad

If you ask me, the idea of carrying crude oil abroad is uncalled for, Nigeria as a country can afford to refine whatever we want in this great country, but no, our leaders won't allow that to happen, we will not set and maintain our refineries, if politics will make you feel peoples pains, then leave and don't feel it, must you feel it?.
If an individual can set up a refinery, if a country can have a refinery, then we can have and maintain our own. Enough is enough if you ask me, Nigeria is facing a security problem and our leaders are telling us the importance of oil subsidy, its actually not fair.

Major Gideon Okar - Why we struck

How many more lives have been lost to the Hausa-Fulani butchery since our execution in 1990? Obviously they run into their tens of thousands. We knew this would happen and that was what we wanted to prevent. Because of the possibility of failure we wanted to leave the message which some termed unacceptable and others, premature.

Nigerians can be forgiven for failure to understand the necessity of excising those states in 1990. But now, how many millions of lives, how much destruction of property, infrastructure and places of worship will it take to convince skeptics that excision is the only way to stop it.

We, that laid down our lives to save you:
Major Gideon Orkar, Captain N.H. Empere, Captain P.A.Dakolo, Capt AA Nonju, Lt. AE Akogun, Lt. CN Odey, Lt. Cyril Ozualor, Lt. NEO Deji, 2/Lt AB Umukoro, 2/Lt EJ Ejesuku, SSgt Julius Itua, Sgt Martins Ademokhai, Sgt. Pius Ilegar and over a hundred others

What really do Nigerians want?

What really do Nigerians want? Subsidize inefficiencies and compromise growth and devt, or eliminate inefficiencies by removing such subsidies to engender competition and enhance growth, generate employment and curb poverty? This is simple logic that progressives world-wide have since embraced. Nigeria may be suffering the consequences of huge illiterate population or half-baked educated population. We may have to make economics a compulsory subject in secondary schools. We cannot continue to remain at the same level when other countries are moving forward. Countries that have transformed economically have had to make hard choices. Agreed, the subsidy removal is ill-timed, but the best thing to do now is for stakeholders to come together and implement programmes to cushion the impact of higher prices, since such prices will stabilize in the near future to enthrone regimes of lower prices. These are obvious realities in business cycles. E.g.the telecom. industry.

Boko-Haram are Misguided Muslims

Enshrine "true" islam, replace english with arabic language, islamize Nigeria, ensure only muslims rule, etc. Don't target mosques except muslims perceived to volunteer information, target Xtians at drinking joints, bomb churches and Xtian centres with wide jubilation among illiterate northern muslims badly indoctrinated that Xtians are enemies. There is, there4, no need to argue whether boko haram is an islamic sect. Bad Xtians abound all over the country, it will be wrong for us to deny that they are not Xtians. It will do a lot of good to accept they are a bad group of Xtians or church denomination. E.g. Pastor Kings. Nigerians must learn to say the truth and jointly fight those masquerading as religious champions to divide us. Everyone has the right to fully practice his religion the way he believes without necessarily denying others their rights. Xtians and muslims must come together and fight bad governance irrespective of who is President. Long live Nigeria.

One of the greatest mistake

One of the greatest mistake most Nigerian make is the mistake of sentiment.
We should come open to condemn an act when it is wrong. Whatsover is Boko Haram mission, their procceding is wrong.
If the muslim did not see it fit to come out and condemn it, then their claim to be Islamic sec is rigt.
My prayer for Tm is that soon the activities of Boko haram will hit at him, he will now be able to judge it right or wrong.

I appreciate the courage you

I appreciate the courage you exhibited in reading from the Qur'an. Over 1.5bn Muslims on earth (approx 1 in 4). You can validate the cuircumstances under which this verse was revealed easily; this is why most haven't carried out these "secret" instructions.

Arab Christians = 40mn (total arabs 220mn); coexisted in mostly peace times with Muslims for at least 1400years. Jews that fared better in most Arab countries over the period while Christian Europe (Spanish Inquisition) tortured all "heretics". Sorry to disappoint your interpretations from your interpreted snipet; I implore that you appreciate that ALL religious violence derives from PREACHED HATRED and not ACTS of PIETY from true knowledge of one's RELIGION or the nature of the another's.

Please let us put sentiment apart and face d reality.

No body said removing subsidy is not a good ideal but it's d approach towards d removal. Pls, let us think twice b4 we wrote something.

Nigerians are impatient

Its so sad that we always condemn our leaders so easily,we forgot we are all part of the problems we ar facing now,we always want a 2 years solution in just 2days,I think we just need 2 be patient so that nigeria will not fall. We'v had bad leaders than now yet we survived it.The boko haram issue has been in the offing b4 goodluck came in.Have nigerians forgotten (THE FIVE WISE MEN FROM THE NORTH)that promised goodluck that they will make nigeria ungovernable if he becomes the president. We dont have anything to say about that.if he takes a wrong step in dealing wit bh,some people will turn it to tribal, religious sentiment,so let us be calm ,nigeria will survive despite all evil wish.

For Muslims who still claim

For Muslims who still claim that there is not injunction in the Quaran for Muslims to kill people who do not believe in Mo and his message, they should go and read Quaran Chapter At Taubah verse 14 "Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace ......."
In verse 29 it says, " fight the unbelievers .......... Out of those who have been given the book (Christians) until they pay tax in acknowledgement of the superiority of Islam and until they are in a state of subjection"
In verse 5 it says "so when the sacred month has passed away, slay the idolaters (unbelievers) wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in every ambush ........."

The boko-haram islamic terror network of northern Nigeria has an army of bloggers now working for them, they are also recieving strategic support from thier oligachy sponsors through the recruitment of mecenary writers and opinion merchants.
Well, the security agencies must know about this and hopefully the net will engulf the evil ones soonest. In the meantime the killings of innocents will not stop, because the northern ruling class want to embarrass the government of the day

Boko Haram

To me the state of emergency given to those four state is meaningless, bcos BK can move to the next local govt and start killing could have been the entire state not just a few local govt.

Nobody can be really sure

Nobody can be really sure it's Boko Haram, yet you can't rule that possibily out.
We will need God or a prophet to tell us that, Nigerian security formations are not capable of any meaningful investigation.

GEJ and his team are digging in sand!

The incessant attacks simply demonstrate the level of rot we are faced with and the helplessness of the GEJ and the present team in dealing with it. However, any other team would equally be helpless. If the police or the Security Services were better equipped rather than have their funding stolen by successive IGPs or even the Kenny Martins of Nigeria, they would have helicopters and other surveillance equipments to rally round, monitor and contain the dispersal of criminals once they attack. If only they, and the NASS could expedite action and procure the necessary tools as these the same way they approved GEJ's purchase of private Presidential fleet, we may start to move in the right direction. Till then, let them continue pissing against the wind or farthing in holy places! Jokers!!

The state of emergency is really working isn't it gej?

Gej is just waiting for another bomb explosion, he has no clue about anything only stealing.

I guess that is what lamido wanted while campaigning for badluck Jonathan.

How did u know?

That's the problem, how did you know that they are boko haram?, criminals can hide under the auspices of boko haram and do what they want, pls allow the police to investigate the matter.
