Chief Justice Of Nigeria Swears In Justice Ifeoma Jombo-Ofor As A Judge Of The Appeal Court
The Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Mariam Aloma Muhktar, today backed down from her earlier position to exclude Justice Ifeoma Jombo-Ofor from the bench of the Nigerian Court of Appeal.
Justice Ifeoma Jombo-Ofor was sworn in Abuja alongside Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachukwa, who now serve as the president of the court of Appeal for the next three months. The searing of Justice Bulkachukwa, further complicates the planned the recall of the former president of the court, Justice Ayo Salami.
The CJN reportedly met Justice Salami a few weeks ago to discuss his recall on the condition that he turns in his resignation letter post dated to January 2013, but the Justice Salami rejected the offer.
Today's swearing in of Justice Bulkachukwa is another peculiarity in Nigeria's troubled history of judicial perfidy. Justice Bulkachukwa was the judge who created the mess in the Sokoto gubernatorial election petition that Justice Ayo Salami tried to rectify when his ruling against the current governor, Aliyu Wammako was stopped by then Chief Justice of the Nigeria, Aloysius Katsina- Alu.
Omo Apaso read up history of appointments in the 9JA JUDICIARY
Omo Apaso I womder if you have respect for facts and logic at all for your ranting ignores the facts within the history of judicial appointments. It seems to me you forget all the other ethnicities in Nigegeria and think too highly of your
s ignoring the others hence you rant over something that is utterly inaccurate
Its a shame that our judicial
Its a shame that our judicial institution has completely collapsed like all our ailing institutions handed over to us by the British on Oct 1 1960.
SALAMI IS DISQUALIFIED TO CONTINUE TO HOLD THE JUDICIAL SENTINEL
SALAMI, JCA, has wittingly and unwittingly become a terribly misunderstood and publicly debated and controversial judge- those for and those aginst. A judge should be free from unnecessry controversy and public opprobrium. As a jaundiced judex, SALAMI, JCA,should repect himself and throw in the towel for he can no longer function within the confine of impartiality and candour expected of an arbiter. That is the hnourable way to go!
Thot law was a noble profession, maybe not in Nigeria.
Anyone who buys into the saying "law is a noble profession" should check his location and be sure he/she is not in Nigeria, look at her smiling, not minding what's right,Justice Salami have been unjustly treated by both colleagues and foes(PDP government),when you play politics with the justice system, you destroy the nation, the effect of all these would be seen in the desperation of politicians come 2015.watchout!!!
We do not belong!!!
No matter what anybody says, we do NOT belong together in this country! Not with these malams dominating the judiciary and using their influence to corner all the available posts and shunning everyone out especially from the southwest! They (Yorubas) have been decimated by Jonathan and then these malams and their women. It is high time the yorubas realize there's no point and strive to build their own region and look inwards. These goats and cows will not change and Jonathan is too willing to do their bidding. Where is sense of justice in all these for heaven's sake? Take heart Justice Salami. Out of the rubbles will come a befitting edifice to the shame of these lunatics calling themselves leaders! As bad as Obasanjo was, he gave all a sense of belonging and was fair to all with his one nigeria mantra. He should be ashamed to what they are doing to his kinsfolk!
