Court Okays Trial Of Former Nigerian Parliament Speaker Dimeji Bankole

An Abuja high court earlier today thrashed three motions brought by former Nigerian parliament speaker Dimeji Bankole. The court decision on three motions aimed at truncating Bankole's trial has cleared the way for the start of his trial for theft and contract fraud.
At today's sitting the judge rejected on the first motion filed by Bankole which aimed at disqualifying Nigerian human rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo, as a prosecutor in the case. The court ruled that Mr. Keyamo is eminently qualified to serve as an EFCC prosecutor in the fraud trial. The court also ruled against a motion seeking to quash the case against Bankole and his father's-Alani Bankole- participation in the series of fraudulent transactions during his tenure as speaker of parliament. The court stated in its ruling that a prima facie case has been established against father and son and thus ruled that his father be properly brought into the trial as an accomplice.
A third motion challenging the jurisdiction of the court was equally thrown out by the judge. The judge stated that the court is properly constituted to try Mr. Bankole for fraud.
The former speaker and his deputy, Usman Bayero Nafada are accused of conspiring in a series of fraudulent transactions that led to contracts scams and fund diversion at the house of representatives.

Two Sets of people might be targetted in the Appending Nigerian Revolution - the Judiciary and the Politicians irrespective of alleged Private Securities. They should stop killing the poor people and concentrate on the Political thievies and the Civil Servants. All well meaning Nigerians and GENUINE civil rights activists should join the EFCC and my humble self in the clamour for SPECIAL COURTS to try corruption cases. This will fast forward cases. I am surprised that the so called 'PROGRESSIVE' political parties(ACN and CPC) have never uttered a word in support of special courts. What a shame! Birds of the same feather! Also we must compel the NASS to pass the ASSET FORFEITURE BILL that will enable immediate seizure of stolen assets. Listen, all you got to do now that the trial is going shead is to send those that matter to the Prosecuting Lawyers and Judges.
2. Ask them for how much of the booty they want. BE WARNED, DO NOT NEGOTIATE. PRICE IS FIXED.
Pay them, and the rest is history. You DID NOT embezzle any money. It was as a result of accounting error.
