EFCC Raids Offices Of Former Gov. Daniel's Associate

Ajisebutu
By SaharaReporters, New York

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today raided the Victoria Island  homes and offices of Wale Ajisebutu, the Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Technologies Limited.

Mr. Ajisebutu was arrested last week Wednesday after EFCC investigators traced $1 million to his account. The money was allegedly  diverted from the First City Merchant Bank domiciliary account owned by Ogun State.

EFCC investigators believe that Mr. Ajisebutu is one of the many fronts used by Daniel when he was the governor, to steal funds belonging to the state.

For today's search, EFCC sources told SaharaReporters they had Mr. Ajisebutu accompany them from detention.

Two other persons involved in the large-scale looting of the state are Mr. Daniel's Chief of Staff, Chief Yomi Majekodunmi, and a former commissioner for finance, Kehinde Shogunle.  Both were granted bail by the EFCC last night after they volunteered to provide documents linking the governor to various financial scams in the state.

In nearby Oyo State, former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, who is embroiled in a similar confrontation with the EFCC, was yesterday granted a N500 million bail by an Ibadan High Court judge.

EFCC

I AM VERY PLEASE TO NOTICE ALL THE SERIES OF ARRESTING BY THE EFCC, BUT THE QUESTION IS WHERE ARE THE RECOVED MONEY, THOSE MONEY IS MORE THAN A ENOUGH TO BUILDING GARDENS FOR NIGERIANS TO BENEFIT, FOR INSTANCE SALING THE HOUSES BY FLAT IT WILL MAKE THE RATE OF SUFFERING AND CRIMA GOES DOWN,WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST CORRUPTION, WE MUST FIGHT IT TO THE LAST THEREFORE IF THOSE CRIMINALS SHOULD FACE THE LAW NOT GRANTING THEM BAIL SO FAST THAT MEANS THOSE STOLEN MONEY ARE STILL HELPING THEM, THEY STOLEN OUR MONEY THE MONEY THEY ARE GIVING FOR BAIL IS ALSO OUR MONEY,ALL THEY PROPERITY SUPOSE TO BE SEIZE AND THE WILL GO TO JAIL

DAMN YOU,DANIEL

Its only in Nija that a thief who stole billions will go to court with his wife, posing for photographs as if he was being sworn in into a good office and even show the victory sign, beaming like the cat that stole the canary.

One day will be one day when the tiny fabric holding the society together will break and all these thieves will be swept off as happened in Ghana with J.J.Rawlings.

Daniel, damn you for thinking you can get away with this.Same to you o,Alao-Akala.

Nigerians Saving Nigerians:

YOMI MAJEKODUNMI AGAIN

Why should people be surprised about Yomi Majekodunmi. He is known with fraud and failure....He was forced to resign in a Discount House he first worked for....He messed up Nationwide Merchant Bank and ran to England during Abacha regime..He later messed up DEFUNT Reliance Bank and was disgraced out of office....Everything was ok for Gbenga until Yomi joined him...

Ogun State Governor and his coprits

It is a disgrace that, most people we know as honost and respected people allow themselves to be used by others to loot money from our country abroad, while we are crying there is no money in Nigeria. Those barristers and lawyer representing them should be taught a lesson.

OCCUPY ABUJA

OCCUPY ABUJA - NIGERIANS SHOULD JOIN THE WORLD ...
Demonstrators in London and Rome turn out in large numbers to voice their displeasure over perceived corporate greed as "Occupy" protests spread across the globe. NBC's Keir Simmons reports.
Occupy Wall Street started in New York City, and have now spread to Washington DC.
"A website called 15october.net urged the people of the world to "rise up" and "claim their rights and demand a true democracy."
"Now it is time for all of us to join in a global non violent protest. The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end," the website says."
OCCUPY ABUJA - NIGERIANS SHOULD JOIN THE WORLD ...
Should Nigerians take advantage of the current Occupy Wall Street protests spreading around the world to start their much needed revolution that will change the course of history in our once promising nation?

The masses should hear this

The masses should hear this again, the people mentioned above are less than 5% of the population of Nigeria. The masses should hear this again, Nigeria spends or rather waste 87% of her money on less than 5% of the polpulation of Nigeria. These less than 5% of the population also control the 13% of the money of Nigeria earmarked for capital developements. The masses should stand up very tall now and be counted.

The Nigerian masses are not

The Nigerian masses are not getting it. They should stand up and be counted or shut up forever. Nobody will fight their fight. Near this again, any nation that spends 87% of all her money for recurrent expenditure and only 13% for capital expenditure, which in most cases are mainly consumed by corruption, has no future. That nation is permanently doomed. The masses should hear this again, recurrent expenditure is for the payment of salaries and allowances. Those who collect these salaries and allowances are the political office holders and workers in the federal government, the state government and local governments.

Re: I am completely disappointed

Dont mind tayo, he has forgotten two rules, 1. that it is guilty until proven innocent and 2. criminals should not have access to "good" lawyers - they should just jailed and shot without any trial. Ola you have really thought it through. kudos

WE NIGERIANS ARE ALL IDIOTS

Someone will count himself out. But I state here that you are.

It takes an IDIOT to be ruled by FOOLS, governed by FOOLS, chaired by FOOLS, represented by FOOLS and guarded by FOOLS.

How much funds and money have the so called EFCC recovered and how many people have been brought to book, I mean paid back what they have stolen? Do you people think EFCC is acting on behalf of Nigerians. They are all bunch of criminals gathered together in the name of EFCC. Affiliate of PDP.

They will all be released when EFCC gets their own share.

Nigeria, a cursed country!

Nigerians should not be taken in by the shenanigans going on in that cursed country called Nigeria. It is as clear as daylight that the so-called arraignments of Daniel and Akala by Farida's EfCC will follow the same judicial trajectory which, in effect, is a criminal judicial system designed purposely by the politicians and coruupt members of the bench, starting from the CJN himself, to hoodwink the long-suffering and incredibly docile and gullible Nigerians who have continuously allowed these thieving politicians to get away with everything.

Has anybody heard anything again about the case of Bankole and other governors accused by EFCC? Nigeria is a joke of a country and a laughing stock in the eyes of the international community.

This contraption called "Nigeria" should, once and for all, be dismantled!

They know the truth

Tayo Oyetibo and other SANs that are always defending thieving Governors and crooks know the truth but will always know their stomach first! It is shameful that they are defending those who have mortgaged the future of Nigerians, all because of their stomach and greed. Am seriously sick and disturb about our society where there are no upright men and women, including the compromised Nigerian press! Ask the press what has happened to Cecilia Ibru, Igbinedion, Abdullahi Adamu, Uzor Kalu, Saminu Turaki, etc. No one is talking about them vociferously again. The cases against Bankole, Akala, Doma and other thieves will go the same way!

@Barr Femi

If Gbenga's hands are clean, he wouldn't need anytime to prepare his defence. It is only the man with something to hide will need time to find a way to hide without being discovered. I may not be a barrister, but I guess my logic is still sound.

I am completely disappointed

I am completely disappointed in Lawyer Tayo Oyetibo. I got to know him when he was working with Late Gani and I have since respected him but today I put him in the same position as Baba Suwe. All because of money, you can come out to defend a crook who never respected the rule of law. Where was Tayo Oyetibo when the Ogun State Assembly was locked up, and you call yourself a lawyer. Shame on you Tayo

Fanning the ember of thievery!

@Femi.you should be ashamed of yourself for writing crap here.what defence will come from someone like Gbenga Daniel..As if you are not a Nigerian.Imagine the number of lifes this looters have wasted with all forms of ineptitude and greed.Imagine the numbers of Nigerians in diaspora building other people's countries because of crazy leaders like gbenga daniel..Imagine politicians living thier lavish, spurious lifes at the expense of the masses. You call yourself a barrister. It is your type that sells thier conscience for money.you will get what is coming to you.Goon.

let them take it to heaven or

let them take it to heaven or hell

where abacha, sadam hussein, gadafi, mobutu seseseko, idi amin, and the rest of thieves all over the world, everything is six feet, we bring nothing to the world we take nothing back

Rubbish,after bail nothing will happen,where's Ogbulafor's case?

Unpatriotic Bastards, where's Bankole and the rest of the so call corruption cases? Country of devils.

Another paper trail to Nowhere.

"Both were granted bail by the EFCC last night after they volunteered to provide documents linking the governor to various financial scams in the state."

Have we not heard of innumerable former governors, government officials and PDP looters that were caught and tons of 'documents' recovered from them walking away free? Where is Bankole today? What happened to Saraki's Societe Generale bank fraud? What about Siemens, Halliburton and all the 'palmerworms' involved in them?

The list is ENDLESS.

Honestly, I am just tired of this ineffective, blundering and unserious EFCC giving us this run around crap, as good enough to deserve their pay check!

I bet you this is another paper trail to Nowhere.

DANIEL

While the arrest and detention of Governor Daniel is a welcome development in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.Notwithstanding, I have a serious concern about the haste in which his trial will commence. The EfCC took almost three years investigating him, the Judge fixed the trial to start by 17 November 2011 . While I have no doubt about the competence of those representing him but I have a serious concern whether the short time limit is enough for the defence team to trace witnesses , seriously test the prosecution evidence against him . Will former Governor Daniel himself be well enough to give adequate instruction within the short time limit to his defence team considering the fact that he is just out of detention and will need time to come to terms with his predicaments . Maybe I am wrong .
