Insurrection Against PDP National Chair Leads To Cancellation Of Press Briefing

Bamanga Tukur

As overwhelming majority of members from the PDP’s National Working Committee dealt an embarrassing setback to the national party chair when they rescinded the party’s earlier decision to dissolve its Adamawa State Executive Council.

Party chair Dr. Bamanga Tukur was not present at the time of the vote to rescind by 10 of the committee’s 12 members.

Intrigue at the PDP Committee led Dr. Tukur to schedule, then cancel a press briefing organized for Wednesday.

The press briefing was aimed at condemning the actions of the rebellious 10 NWC members, who scolded Tukur for the crisis going on in the party in his home state of Adamawa.

Invitations had already been sent out that the briefing would hold at 10am in his office at Wadata Plaza, headquarters of the crisis-ridden party.

When he changed his mind, he sent another invitation that one of his aides would speak on his behalf. However, at the end of the day, neither he nor any of his aides showed up for the briefing, which was then cancelled.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan met with the leadership of the party and the governors, who reportedly pushed for the removal of Tukur.

The meeting, which was held at the President Villa, Abuja, was also attended by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo.

The meeting was aimed at brokering peace between the troublesome governors and the subdued NWC members, who, after learning of moves to replace them, quickly reversed the dissolution of the Adamawa State executive committee of the party.

Tukur had caused the NWC to sack the executive because of the alleged governorship ambition of one of his sons.

@abdulgafar&sanusiyaraduwa

One just has to mention Di..... and you start wetting your panties. Stop shaking like chinchillas in the heat. Nigeria will break and there is nothing, again nothing you can do about it. You had better started thinking of a plan B and forget the free rides. Enjoy it while it last at least until 2015. Tick Tack.

well, well, well! thats good

well, well, well! thats good for him

What Manner of President is this?

With the mirad of problems facing the country, Mr. Jonathan still time to play party politics. He is always excited when he is in the midst of these group of people called PDP faithfuls. Come to think of it; When was the last time Obama had a meeting with officers of his Democratic party that our President will be spending 2 whole days in a row with his party men? He should please get serious

Never

sultanof sokoto/deri, if pdp is dying does not mean Nigeria will follow, after taken ur ogogoro what comes out of ur mouth should be organize pls. Its high time Deri begin to feel sorry 4 himself on SR because no one take U serious again, because for long U have always diplayed how myopic u are.

Settled Issues

IBB was correct in setting forth the following settled issues:

1. The Unity of Nigeria;
2. Nigeria is a capitalist and free market economy;
3. Nigeria's Republican constitution; &
4. The States are the federating units

Here is the fifth settled issue:

1. Free and Fair Elecions

THAT IS ANC FOR U IN THE SOUTH WEST

THE Oyo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has condemned the attack on an assistant editor with the Nigerian Tribune, Mr Laolu Harolds, by some military men attached to the state government’s demolition team.The NUJ, in a statement made available to the Nigerian Tribune, described the assault on the reporter as crude, barbaric and uncalled for. “Journalists all over the world are known for nosing for news so as to keep the public abreast with happenings within and outside their environs.“Harolds is lying critically ill at the Accident and Emergency ward of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, while his assailants are roaming the streets unmolested

EKITI State governor, Dr

EKITI State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has dissolved the state executive council, leaving the commissioners and special advisers shocked.Governor Fayemi was said to have announced the decision to dissolve the council after their weekly meeting on Wednesday and directed the commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Olayinka Oyebode, said “the governor thanked all the executive members for their support for the government in the last two years.” Oyebode added in the statement that “the dissolution and re-constitution that would follow are aimed at revitalising the administration and positioning it for greater performance.” He quoted Governor Fayemi to have said that “this is the moment of change and transformation in all that we are doing. This is not a statement about an individual not pulling their weight enough.”

NOT NIGERIA IS DYING BUT JONATHAN AND HIS PDP!

The ethno-religious savage calling itself Sultanofsavages should know that the death of PDP and the down fall of their god (Jonathan) have nothing to do with the Nigerian nation. Their wishes to see Nigeria crumbled simply because Jonathan will not return by 2015 will meet a serious termination. Their inclinations to ethno-religious dogmatisms to make PDP rig elections has come to an end. Therefore, no Pastor or Shiek will collect money and campaign for a weak and irresponsible tribal champion to rule Nigeria like ogogoro republic.

where did SR get their own report from-no waooh

Gana, on his part, admitted that the decision to set up the committee arose because some members were already challenging the legality of some people to vote.He also faulted reports that some PDP governors were planning to unseat the party’s chairman, Bamanga Tukur, saying the governors were law abiding party members. Jibrin said so far, 12 members of the board had shown interest in the chairmanship job. He said it was when Gana’s committee concluded its assignment and submit report that a date for the election will be chosen.
Maduekwe however added another dimension when he said the BoT had no constitutional duty to conduct election in the meeting. He said the latest move was to reduce likely area of challenge since the simplest of election would stand the risk of being challenged.He denied reports of any rift or cracks in the PDP.

Is CPC not in court with its socalled fulani leader buhari

Is CPC not the same as PDP? Are they not in court over ownership of the party? Its only stories like this that make it to the front pages of the news media we call (Arab Spring) in Africa! Those media houses that carry negative stories on behalf of the trans-national organizations in Africa-the story as far as I am concerned is a local news which should never have been used to boast the ego of boko haram here! Tukur is Fulani like Buhari, Sanusi and El Rufai-they belong to the born to rule Nigeria class of people-so if a state in the North decides to mess up the head of a political party in Nigeria-what is so special about it-did we not see a memeber of ACN, openly say No to plans by Tinubu to impose the Ekiti state governor on the people again?

PDP is over

The game of PDP is nearly end that is y we trying to make people understand that 2015 gen buhari is the only solution to nigeran problems. May Allah disorganize PDP members from wards level to national level. PDP on the road to dissolve.

2015

Piep, piep, piep flat line, PDP is dying and sincerely hope Nigeria follows.
