James Ibori Charged In London, Remanded In Prison

James Ibori
By Saharareporters, New York

As SaharaReporters indicated last night, former governor James Onanefe Ibori, 48, was formerly charged in London today at the City of Westminster's magistrate court.

The two-time Delta State governor, who was extradited to the United Kingdom yesterday from the United Arabs Emirate, was slammed with 25 counts of fraud, money laundering and conspiracy, but only one of the charges was read in court today.

During the session, Ibori's lawyer, Jonathan Akinsanya, did not apply for bail perhaps because the court already knew that the former Delta State was a high level flight risk who would try to skip bail.

Ibori was remanded and sent to Wandsworth Prison in London. His next appearance will be on April 28th, 2011 at the Southwark Crown Court, the same venue where his accomplices were tried for similar offices.  They got five years each.

Life is full of gratitudes. We all live to learn. A man has to risk too far to know how far he can really Go. He is aware and will return Home at the appointed time. So help him God.

Good for Ibori

It is rather sad for me when i read some of the first few comments of some too idiots posted in this site. One ask, "Is Chief Ibori d 1st person to steal? The other added, "Ibori has not been the first thief and will not be the last pls let us move on after all he is a smart thieve give am chance."I feel they are both great fools, idiots and nonentities. Here is a single man who called himself odidigborigbo, and raped a full state of their future. A State like Delta, with is innumerable treasures is still groping in the dark.People die daily of common diseases...No jobs, no good raods, nothing. and yet these fools are saying rubbish. I like the guy who compaared Ibori to madoff. Indeed, Ibori should be given 50 years and continue his odidigborigbo in London prison...haahhahahahahhahah

I hope u spend 25yrs or more.

Let God be true and every man a liar.

What ever a man sow, that he will also reap. Ibori has sown evil and evil will abide with him. Hello cousin Ibori, ur day is come and don't even wish it may stay away. You are a product of bad things. There is no way out. Just travel to the UK and ask for ur own sentence. You may get some love. Nigeria! Nigeria!! Nigeria!!!, Where is the peoples soul headed. Seek God and turn the Government to democracy.

IBORI'S END OF THE ROAD

Before I proceed, I want to say BIG THANKS to SR for updating the masses with the Chief looter of Delta state (James Onanefe Ibori) who is presently paying for his many atrocities in a London detention center pending a date with time that must be spent for his crime.Times of Nigeria we await your defense on this your first master is gone now, but wait it will come to the turn of your second Master soonest.Pa Clark Thanks for speaking out for the poor Deltians and please watch out for the number two looter in this Governorship election, because he and his cohorts have perfected their rigging method and if time is not taken would start allover again (looting) Jega please take special note of that election in Delta State as they have the stolen resource to compromise your officials on ground. their antecedents are well known.

Ibori, Caution

No sane person would like corruption and the primitive accumulation of wealth. Nonetheless, my worry is that when we fail to dispassionately prosecute our own corrupt elements, we automatically open the door for neo-colonialists to try them. Nigeria is a sovereign nation and should stand out as one. I cannot imagine corrupt British Ministers or MPs being sent to Nigeria for trial and the British people gleefully cheering. Haba, we need to get it right. Then this leads to the question, what do people do with unrestrained accumulation of wealth to the detriment of their people?

To our singing James and cohorts.

When young i watched a movie or read a comic, that's akin to this Ogidigborigbo's scenario : "Caught in the act, you can neither run nor fly". Its payback time James Onanefe Ibori, enjoy your rewards. No responsible husband leaves his wife alone to face the music. Be a man and pay the price together with Theresa Nkoyo who has been deserted to face the consequence of the deals. What fraud joined together, let not escapism put asunder. Go and join others to answer the charges. Thank God as an international crook, what Nigeria failed to correct, Britain would fix briskly. Adieu!
