Jonathan Not in SA for ANC Centennial, But His Massive Team Is

By SaharaReporters, New York

Following inquiries of many Nigerians and a lot of rumours on the Internet, SaharaReporters confirms that President Goodluck Jonathan did not travel to South Africa for the 100th anniversary of the ANC.

Responding to the situation at home, he has remained in Nigeria cancelling his trip to the ANC centenary.

In his speech to the country on Saturday night, he vowed to undertake “immediate cuts” in foreign trips to "the barest minimum."

Meanwhile his party and government are heavily represented in South Africa. He did not stop his team from going, nor did he limit the size of the delegation, unless half of the entire People’s Democratic Party was scheduled to have travelled with him in the first place.

Following a lavish demonstration of weight at the ANC dinner on Saturday night, his delegation then swamped Bloemfontein, an entourage “so large,” wrote one Nigerian in South Africa, “you would think it was a PDP political rally.”

NIGERIANS ARE BLIND

WHY IS SUBSIDY REMOVAL AN ISSUE???......

THIS SHOWS THE WHOLE WORLD THAT NIGERIANS ARE JUST NOISE MAKERS AND BLIND

ALOT OF NIGERIAS DO NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS..TO REMOVE PETROLUM SUBSIDY
AS USUALLY MANY OF THE PROTESTER ARE LIKE "ZOMBEE" AND ARE IN TEAM BECAUSE THEIR FRIENDS,BROTHERS OR SPONSOR HAS ASKED THEM TO JOIN

MR PRESIDENT SPEAK TO YOUR CITIZEN ON NATIONAL TELEVISION AND EXPLAIN TO THEM WHY THIS POLICY HAS TO BE EFFECTED NOW....AND MANY WILL BE MORE INFORMED
NIGERIAS IN DISPORIA BELIEVE IN THIS POLICY...IF THIS FUNDS SAVED GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE SYSTEM TO BUILD THE COUNTRY

Mr we r nt talkin about

Mr we r nt talkin about centiment.so up if u don't hv enytn to say

YOM YOM THE CONTRACTORS ARE YR TRIBESMEN--IJAWS ARE NOT

the strike by labour was becoming suspicious because the same organised labour had refused to go on strike to defend the rights of the people of far North, South-East and South-South who have been buying fuel at prices far above the pump price.

“The people of the North-East and North-West have been buying fuel at N250 per litre, the same for people of the South-South, while the people of the South-East have been buying fuel at N120 per litre. It is not on record that labour went on strike to defend the rights of the people of those areas,” the source said.

All liar will rot in HELL, GEJ u re a liar

GEJ tell the truth and let the devil in you be ashmed, you went to SA. Beware of hell God is not like ur PDP allies. Confess now and revert the fuel price and God will show u mercy

No fact to back this headline

A responsible journalist should have stated the actual number of delegates in SA, people should be objective when writing comments. I have learnt to discount SR stories anyway.

I read through the report

I read through the report expecting SR to give the actual number of delegates to substantiate the inciting headline but no such information. You are not practising journalism but only a bulletin of enemies of GEJ

Whose BFR....OBJ GEJ

Whose BFR....OBJ GEJ BFR..GCFR...GCON...CON...arent they all the same thieving murdering crazy bunch of maniacs?...in agbada!

Match Words with action!

It appears our President does not understand the efficacy of matching words with action. Some of the measures touted for cutting down on cost include Reducing cost of Governance and minimizing foreign trips. It is disappointing and the height of profligacy to flood SA with such a large delegation so soon after making such a pronouncement. How does GEJ expect to retain the trust of Nigerians who are on the borderline of support for his bold initiative? Have your Foreign masters not advised in this? There must be courage also demonstrated in this regard otherwise it is all CHEAP TALK!

Jonathans plans

If Jonathan succeed in this Evil plan,
1.He will immediately sell PHCN even at Nigeria's loss
2.He will use the already bought over David mark's senate to pass the seven or six years single tenure David mark will hide some clauses unknown to Nigeria for JOnathan to Enjoy the so called single seven or six year term.
Then Nigeria will then know in his true colour of this Man called Goodluck Jonathan.
I advice labour to stand firm on this strike as it will send a message to the senate that we will not take nonsence from them.

GEJ is a product of a

GEJ is a product of a diabolical PDP Formation. Hence, nothing good can ever emanate from either him or his party as it concerns evolving meaningful poiolicies that should catapult the nation into 1st Tier League of Nations. All his policies are hypocritical in Nature. He has grown from being a WEAK PRESIDENT to a WICKED PRESIDENT. Nigeria has been grounded 4 3days running, yet this sinner-man is yet to utter a single word. During d London Riot, David Camron, was always on all forms of media assuring his people dat all was well. He (camron) quelled London Riots using water tanks & rubber bullets on protesters. But, our anti-christlike president in GEJ, ordered strike forces (Special Anti Robbery Squad) with LIVE BULLETS to dowse a simple street rally/protest. How wicked could a president be. For all d lives that have gone as a result of dis struggle, their blood will reside & dwell wth GEJ,cohorts, friends, well wishers, party stalwarts and all whome he seeks wise counsel from. AMEN.

What the President should have done?

President Jonathan knows that Nigerians have lost complete trust in their leaders for over four decades now. He should have gained half our trust before we are asked for the sacrifice. Nigerians rightly believe that majority of the money they will pay for fuel will be moved overseas instantly by our corrupt leaders and the equally civil servants who help them, and help themselves.
Can you show me a single treasury looter in Nigeria who has been made to refund what stolen and do proportionate time in prison for the enormous crime? None.
The President who fights corruption thoroughly and transparently will have Nigerians kissing the ground he steps on. A word for the President.

Fire at Home and Money Flashing and Enjoyment Abroad

I know it that this man does not have the power to curtail the excesses of PDP and his closest political cabals. He will always say one thing and do the other under the strict control and manipulation of his party (PDP) members. This is the first opportunity to demonstrate to Nigerians how effective his promises following the removal of oil subsidy will be, and what are we seeing? Remember that majority of these faceless idiots who attended the S.A centenary will be collecting their various allowances which will be calculated in millions. Look at the allowances he is receiving in Aso Rock. Any financial sacrifices and subsidy removal needs to start from Aso Rock. Nigerians are no more fools that you politicians will continue to deceive and trample on.

You are right my brother

Thank you Yom Yom for this very educative and enlighten comment, CAPITAL NO TO SUBSIDY REMOVAL.

More Estacode for the boys or ESCAPE route?

More Esatacode for the boys! Talk of 25% cut in their income!
I like the idea of Loot Recovery fund.

Instead of Jonathan looking at how he can recover 1.1 trillion Naira (excess of money paid out over and above 200 billion Naira previous expense) from his faceless looters in his party, government and cronies in Private sector, he is punishing the already impoverished people by this inhumane and unpatriotic act. Talk of adding salt to injury!

In the absence of safety network palliatives, improved social amenities, definitive plans regarding functional refineries being established, no assurance that we shall not relive the old elitist patterns of stomach-churning corruption, this policy will DECIMATE the funds of the people, impoverishing them further.

This is one of those Jamborees they are used to. Are they trying to escape?

These shameless rogues have taken us on an expensive ride in the last 50 years and we can no longer support their wicked corruption.

PDP Crooks and misfits in S. Africa

These PDP clowns only know how to waste the people's money. What do the ANC and the PDP have in common? Nothing. ANC is a progressive, democratic and pro-people party whereas the PDP mafia is undemocratic and filled with criminals and election riggers.Bro Jona and his fellow thieves are not serious. This hypocrite who claims that he lacked shoes as a child is now asking poor citizens to make sacrifices but see the waste and reckless spending on frivolities still going in his government. It is very insensitive on his part. The PDP rogues seek every opportunity to squander stolen public money. The protests against the wicked fuel subsidy withdrawal must go on. If bro Jona persists in his evil ways, let him be impeached by the National Assembly. We have had enough of the incompetence and madness of this man and his useless regime.

That trip

But we were warned... GEJ isnt any different. Vote BRF for president incase GEJ gets inpeached

Haba GEJ

GEJ, stop deceiving yourself. The worst thing that can happen to a man is that he should try to deceive himself.

Protest Must Continue With or Without Organised Labour!!!

With or without organised Labour the protest must continue. We are not fighting for fuel price reversal alone, also the eradication of corruption and death sentence for any corrupt official. If Jonathan is not strong enough to affect these changes, he should get out of the way for any other capable leader. He cannot sit there like a dummy whist Nigerian thieves called politicians carry on stealing all the money meant for development. He should get out of the Aso Rock if he's so scared that he cannot deal with those that are draining Nigeria. Jonathan went to America, Australia, South Africa and many other beautiful countries around the world. When he came back from these countries, did he have a moment when he just sat quietly on his own and thought you know what, I would love my country to be as beautiful as those countries! I doubt it, they are too selfish to think of anything like that, for them, it's just me me, bunch of visionless bastards who called themselves leaders.

Gej travel

Whether or not he travelled begs the issues on ground.
The N1trillion stolen under his watch in the name of subsidy pay out must be returned with immediate effect.
If madam Ibru, Akingbola and others who superintended the thieving that took place in banking forfeited their loot and are under prosecution the 70 fuel importers must be brought into account, too.
Dr Kolade's Committee should progress to a judicial commission with a mandate to recover this loot and can then return to be reinvestment committee if ever we need one

This man Mr Jonathan, is he

This man Mr Jonathan, is he really what he says he is? He just says anything that comes out of his mouth, even before he thinks of it. He has ordered civil servants, to use departmental buses. Where are the buses and if the buses are there ,who will drive them? Is it the the low paid junior civil servant drivers, who are very bitter with his government and enjoying the stike, or the empty filling stations that will feul the buses? Mr jonathan you have no clue and you are a joker. How on earth did we end up, with the bunch as our leaders? Nigeria is in a very serious trouble. Mr Jonathan please if you have nothing to say, just keep quiet, because at times silience is golden.
