Why marking a house for years without pulling it down?

Fashola needs to be blamed for this. Because of political reasons, he has refused to demolish all these houses that are structurally defective.
The people that are contracted to carry out these tests now find it as a way of exploiting the system and start collecting money from landlords/developers. The families that have these affected houses would then employ the services of bricklayers & painters to window-dress them. This is the in-thing on Lagos Island. Anytime l go home to see my siblings on the island, l always complain to whoever cares to listen.
What is the point of marking a house for demolition and the house still existing for more than 2 years? They are many all over Lagos.
Election has come and gone; l now expect him to take a decisive actions. Not just action, but real action(s). Medicine after death must stop.

Vacating occupants without

Vacating occupants without alternative shelter? This is not how a government responds to disaster. This buildings are built with no balcony, no exit doors in case of emergencies. there should be a review of all low cost housing estates in lagos. they are death traps.

lagos a lesson for Abuja mass housing development

All contractors should leave their names and possible contacts on the properties they develop irrespective f who gave the contract. In Abuja today bungallows collapse nt to talk about upstairs. Houses sold at 20 million naira were built wth 2.5million. Nigerian Society of Engineers, Federal Minstry of Housing and Urban Development should realise that we are left in their hands.

poor contractors

I was there and supplied part of the cement used in building those part of the estate. I could boldly say those buildings were poorly built because the contracts moves from to various house before it get to the builder. So sad about the incident. May God help the affected families.

It was only a matter of time,

It was only a matter of time, it was destined to happen. Jakande had good intentions but gave the building contracts to his greedy and selfish cronies. This is the result, and more of them will come down soon. " Nigeria we hail thee"
Nigeria is blessed by God, let us resist vehemently anybody who does not want us to enjoy God's blessings.

Lagos Building Collapse

My family and I extend our hearts to those who lost their lives and those affected with down structures.
Lagos State and local authority should be quick to respond to all of the affected people. Glad that authority has announced that occupants near by should vacate. Please urge them to truly vacate the areas and please assist them with alternative homes for the next days if not months.
Please act right.

Collapsed Building!

The LASBCA orders occupants of homes near the collapsed structure to vacate their homes without making temporal arrangement to house them or offering them any form of assistance. This is quintessetial Nigeria's system of governance. Besides, is the agency conducting investigation to determine the cause(s) of the collapse of the building? And is any body or organ of government taking responsibility for the accident? Somebody approved the construction of the building, who is he or she? Or don't we have building codes in Nigeria? Yeye government!

Garbage In Garbage Out!

Anything erected in Nigeria is called a house. Everybody wants a house not minding how it is build.
