Maiduguri University Student Hurt in Shootout Between JTF and Boko Haram

A student of the University of Maiduguri has been hurt in an exchange of fire in the metropolis between the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation RESTORE ORDER and Boko Haram militants.
A statement by Lieutenant Col. Sagir Musa, the JTF spokesman, said the incident occurred at about 5:50 am on January 4 at Gwange when terrorists attacked a JTF location.
“During an exchange of fire, a taxi was caught in the cross fire; unfortunately a stray bullet hit one of the passengers who is alleged to be a student of University of Maiduguri. The injured student in the taxi was escorted to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where he is receiving medical attention and responding to treatment,” the statement said.

I am an Alumni of Unimaid and it has been a thing of concern to me writing my heartfelt view regarding the state of Borno state at the moment. The last time I visited Maiduguri was February 2012 and left at the 1st week of March 2012. Residents gave themselves curfew. Anyway that was situation of things then but now things are even worse than then but the only advise I have for fellow readers both the ones pointing accusing finger on Mr. President and his stakeholders is that if they go by what the easy say of your words may be even you, I mean you should have been dead by now. Remember the military (JTF) had to intervene in this when the killing of Police was a daily things in twos or threes. Also remember that those military deployed there are well trained than the initials and had to always play by "RULES OF ENGAGEMENT."

Should the President fight the war personally? Was he the one who sent boko haram to cause a cross-fire that affected the student? The JTF is the representative of Mr President and it is doing its work in that provocation which unfortunately affected the student. Everybody knows that Islam is a violent religion and the President cannot do a damn thing to stop it. Why does Sagir Musa thinks as if he will not die and face God on judgement day? Last year over 10 students of Unimaid were innocently murdered by JTF and BH and no statement was issued. Why reporting this lucky student? Fear God and remember the day of judgement. There, business will not be as usual. Presently, over 50 innocent persons, including students are languishing in JTF cells, arrested by JTF 10 days ago in Unimaid Campus and only God knows whether they are dead or alive following an attempted robbery on Prof. Gopal on campus 2 wks ago. SR please help investigate this matter. I am a student and vulnerable.
