Update: NAPEP website hacked too!
By SaharaReporters, New York

Nigerian anonymous Internet hacker group-NaijaCyberHacktivists- yesterday brought down the website of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to protest the decision of the Jonathan regime to spend 1 billion Naira on the  presidential  inauguration. It is the second time the hackers will be attacking a Nigerian government website. The NDDC has since restored their website after the disruption which lasted a whole day.

The group released 9-paragraphed cyberpage titled "A Visit from Hell" where the hackers reiterated their message as follows:
    A Visit from HELL

Mr President, With great sadness in our heart we bring you this message.

The Nigerian General Elections of April 2011 have come and gone. But, yet again, like all important functions of the Nigerian political system, they have provoked violent uprisings in parts of Nigeria - this time, mostly in the Northern States of Nigeria - and they have left a legacy of blood and tears, and of inter-group animosity and hate.

Nigerians have endured it all - usually assured by political self-seekers and false prophets that such problems are temporary birth pangs of a new country. But the events of the past April, and of recent months, have at last blown away all this self-deception and we are saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

To worsen the matter, the FG is to spend N1b on Jonathan inauguration

An inauguration is simply an induction into office, the formal transfer of power to an individual AND NOT a costly long-running festival nor a series of open-ended events organized into convoluted books and chapters.

We, NaijaCyberHactivists are therefore joining voice with other well-meaning Nigerians and WE SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"! WE ARE WATCHING and we promise that

1.) If the FG decides to go on with the N1b budget

2.) If the killers of "Mr. Tochukwu Uzukwu" aint fished out

3.) All those detained with the arrest and detention of Prof. Steve Torkuma Ugbah are not released

    WE WILL

1.) Launch an attack against ALL financial institutions

2.) Launch an attack against the epayment bodies in the country

    3.) Take down the Networks

    4.) Cripple the telecommunication companies

5.) Take down all government sites.

We are not bluffing. .We are watching with interest and we give you till saturday to meet our TERMS.

    "In source code we trust

    We fighting for a cause

To make them account for all OUR money in their purse

MISSION: Hand over the whip to the horse".

lets go to bed and sleep. pls revert your hacking talent to a better direction.

Madness of the highest order

Hackers yr act is a treasonable offence. It does not make sense. In the USA, where u seem to be operating from, u guys wld be in jail. Why dont u call for fiscal federalism or resource control for the South south region. At best let us part ways. Is 1b your problem now!? How much has been stolen from the region by the regionalist so far? Trillions of dollars. Not by Jonathans brothers and sisters. Regional Thieves! Go ahead and and do yr best GEJ. Bad belle people! Team S/S and S/E voted 4 Buhari.

Good one, justice umoke

Justice Umoke,

I like the way you creatively latch on to those messages to advertise your website. It is a welcome departure from the rather crude method used by some of the folks around here.

Folks,

Have you taken time to visit
http://nigerianpro.com/?

if you haven't, please do so! That site rocks.

Should the inauguration be hosted for free?

This so-called hackers are simply busybodies for nothing. Whose cause are they fighting? Well, first, do they even think Nigerian govt. parastatals value their websites? No. Do they even believe that government business is conducted via the cyber space? These govt. officials are so corrupt that they will not even store the basic files on the Net. Can't these ignoramuses see that each time govt. agents want to cover up fraud, they simply burn down the establishment? Okay, as per the cost, you guys just imagine that about 50 heads of state were invited. How much does it cost to accommodate each head of state, what about security, transportation, logistics and other miscellanious. A N1b is very conservative. So guys, look for other reason to protest. And hacking those empty websites does not create any impact.

Bank thieves

pls do not create an awareness for bank chiefs to manipulate customers account and blame it on hackers. only delete politician's accounts and those government monoploy businessmen accounts. that will be the best revolution start.

this guy, u ar mumu! come out

this guy, u ar mumu! come out and join the party wagon!!

kudos but......................

We need a change for the better. I'm tired of all these PDP rouges. I work in a hospital where nothing works but the hospital heads use expensive jeeps as official cars but the hospital lacks simple equipment 100 times cheaper than the cars. Survival is a miracle but these guys are spending billions on mere swearing-in. Kwashiorkor is back to town. Civil servants are riding official SUV's bought and maintained with millions of Naira but people are hungry. People are hungry, angry and frustrated. I think we need a revolution of the Rawlings type. Things got to change. What we need is a positve and focussed leadership. They keep insulting our senses. Mubarak never imagined his fate today. Kudos but you guys need to jam all government operational websites not just the banks. I wish I have the cyber knowledge.

Obama's speech to the UK parliament

I think everybody in the world should listen to Obama's speech to the British Parliament, especially the Nigerian government. I'm saying this because Nigerian politicians are thieves, dullards who are always ignorant to developments in the international terrain. They are just a bunch of thugs, kleptomaniacs - and local champions at that.
From that speech you would understand that the sovereignity of any nation belongs to the people - not the government, henceforth. So, these Nigerian politicians CANNOT oppress us anymore.

solidarity

what a wonderful action of the reasonable elite club of new Nigeria in the making. cyber war is what we need to push pdp evil and chronic corruption from Nigeria.
Nigeria needs transition government for now, as there's is no diligent and trust worthy leader in pdp. or the nigeria military force may yet assist the present crop of politicians to govern rightly as we re-wright the nation well-represent constitution that recognise the Rule of Law and a credible free & fair elections.

Think very well!

Pls be very careful with your actions.

Hacking

This is a welcomed development in fighting the power that be. Some of the most developed countries in the world undergo this method of activism to straightening their corrupt officials.
Countries like US, England, Russia, India, Pakistan, France undergo hacking on a regular basis. Just recently, play station Network (PSN) was attacked and distabilised, and are still mourning their loss over human right abuse.
People should always understand that there are consequences for every action made. You cannot be spending 1 billion naira for inauguration in a country filled with unemployment.
Finally, Nigeria has no rule against hacking, so technically its is legal.

I'm scared!

I'm scared!

NNDC website hacked.

The hackers could have used other means of protest instead of pulling down NNDC's site. The action is counter productive,in fact it looks loke a form of terrorism.

I think I love

I think I love this group. This looks more civilized and advanced more than MEND that will be bombing places. I dont like any group that would inflict bodily harm or death on people. Carry go NaijaCyber-Hackers! Your actions may save our country from Jonathan's excesses

Power of source code

The next world war won’t just be a battle with guns (well I hope there isn’t any but still who knows) but more of a cyber-warfare
Well that’s not the main point here. The main point is that now it is so easy for people to connect to internet, hide themselves, write a program and take a server down. If that is what an average techie can do, what is a hard core techie capable of now? That person would have capabilities to take down the whole government. Well it’s not that easy since guys like him are the ones who design such government’s network. But given such guys are highly trained in these skills, something really bad is then coming down for the government.

hope that never happens. Won’t be pretty at all because such an attack, no one will be able to predict.

The next thing that will follow

The thing that will follow is that government will spend billions of naira employing IT professionals to protect their systems. So my advise to government is: Before you go abroad to hire them, please check NigerianPro.com because we have many IT professionals in Nigeria who can do the job for less.

employ better it consultants

Nigerian should employed good IT people to avoid such embarrasment.

Goodluck all the way!

'We voted for Goodluck and not PDP!' They said.

Nigerians forgot that when you 'lie with a dog you also lie with the fleas' that are on the dog already! I am not sure in this case, which is the dog or flea.

BETTER Nigeria for "BETTER" Nigerians.

If you are not a "better" Nigerian and already in the list of those political jobs coming up, wait for your turn in 2015.

So all of you who sold your votes and consciences, 'just shut up' and wallow in your poverty you are used to!

Goodluck all the way!

Are we professionals?
