Nigeria Comptroller General Of Immigration, Rose Uzoma, Sacked

Mrs. Rose Uzoma
By SaharaReporters, New York

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs. Rose Uzoma, has been retired from service.

Her retirement followed the recruitment scandal that rocked the Service in the last few weeks. The controversial recruitment, in which she was accused of favouring people from her region, had since been cancelled by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro.

Saharareporters learnt today that a strong petition was forwarded to President Goodluck Jonathan from the supervising minister, part of the petition read :
"The most recent posting of Men and Officers of the Service in which due process was initially followed with all required parties involved, including the Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Abba Moro has been reversed by the comptroller.

Three weeks after the resumptions/reporting to their new beats, the CG of Immigration unilaterally prepared an impromptu circular (without the knowledge of the Minister of Internal Affairs and other stakeholders) to remove some of the newly posted officers and replace them with her loyalists.
An example is the Festac Passport Office in Lagos where there was an open confrontation between the newly posted officer (on the actual posting) and another officer (from Mrs. Uzoma list) was created on Thursday 10th of January, 2013."

Today's "retirement" was saving grace, as Mrs. Uzoma was asked to resign which she did.

Moro had issued a statement saying the former NIS boss had been allowed to go on her terminal leave.

What of the daily

What of the daily circumvention of Federal Character and personel policy in CBN, NNPC, Nigerian Customs and other MDAs? If the story is true, it will be interesting to know when Nigeria got to the realization that employing loyalists has become such an offensive act. The woman is obviously an easy target given our political configuration. Mr President obviously thinks that she can be conveniently sacrificed. Lets continue to watch events unfold.

@Naija East Coast

The constitution of Nigeria does not and has never recognised anything called the 6 geo-political zones. All 36 states had been created before Ekwueme thought up the concept in the late 90's. Secondly, from the old eastern region 9 states have been created Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Cross River, Awka Ibom, Enugu and Anambra (9 states). From the Old western region 8 states have been created (Oyo, Ogun,Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo and Delta). The Eastern region has done much better out of state creation than the old western region (that has more land and people).

CG SACKED!

What does it matter who sacked who? The vile lady was sacked because she breached the rules of employment within her department - be it on grounds of corruption or tribalism - she had to be sacked. The problem with the internet is that all manner of people will write thrash just to let off steam. Stop giving such people any credit by commenting on their posts; once ignored they will crawl back to their huts, dreaming of a land where job security is guaranteed for people from their tribe no matter their incompetence and lack of integrity.

Yorubas: Never trust any Igbo man.

Nothng has changed since 1966.
This is what our late Leader said about them before they killed him.
Remember->Yorubas had nothing to do with this.
Money hungry tribalistic people.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WSosECbcmM

How the Nigerian tribes operate when given position of power

Northern Muslim- all key management positions are given to northern muslims

Ijaw- some key management positions are given to Ijaw and all other positions spread out to other tribes

Yoruba- A few key management and non management positions given to Yoruba and other positions spread out to the other tribes.

Igbo- 98 percent of all key management positions given to IGBO people and 98% of all other positions given to IGBO people.

Northern christian minority- all key and non key position spread out between all other tribes.

NIGERIAN'S BE CAREFUL OF THE PEOPLE YOU ELECT! Some tribes are crude and unsophisticated. Their actions naturally lead to conflict. Never trust a tribe that never learns from their past mainly because they prefer to rewrite history and lie.

THEN WHAT ARE PEOPLE DOING IN THE NORTH

IF the north is an extreme poverty area then what are you people doing in the north, don,t you know that without the north you people will go back to your human flesh eating as you use to in those days or have you forgotten that, better remember ohhhhhhhhh.

@ CHIDI UZORMA

Pls, you need to be corrected. President Goodluck Jonathan is an Ijaw man and not an Igbo man! Let's stop misinformation. The mere fact that Nigeria is usually categorised as Hausa, Igbo & Yoruba does not make it a fact and the truth. The truth is that Nigeria consists of over 250 ethnic tribes of which Ijaw is one!!!!

Insubordination is a Serious Offence in Civil Service!!!

This issue is straight forward. The CG failed to follow laid down rules and regulations guiding civil service operation and she was punished for it. Why should then be name calling here? People need to act and behave as educated and enlightened individuals. If anybody should be accused of tribalism it is the sacked CG because she was terribly tribalistic and acted as a tribal lord & bigot! Federal civil service is not a regional or tribal organisation, so anybody in public service should always know that all Nigerians are equal and that is the policy that every Nigerian should promote if this country is to move forward.

It is always the usual practice of people in position of authority to always put on tribal garb, be they Ibo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ijaw, Efik, Fulani, Kanuri etc. This is a disease that is killing competence in Nigerian public service.

FATE OF THE FAITHFULS

SOME PEOPLE ARE SACKED BECAUSE OF EMBEZZLEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS. THIS WOMAN WAS SACKED FOR EMPLOYING HER KINSMEN AND PEOPLE FROM HER REGION. WE NEED TO SACK THE PRESIDENT FOR GIVING APPOINTMENT ONLY TO HIS PARTY MEN AND LOYALISTS. LET'S START CORRECTING ALL EVILS AT THE SAME TIME!

The real truth

Please read and get the truth;

Click to read why she was sacked

The sacking of comptroller general of immigration service

WHO SAYS THE PRESIDENT IS NOT SENSITIVE TO CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS! WELL DONE MR. PRESIDENT THERE ARE STILL OTHERS WHO ARE LIKE THIS IN MANY SECURITY OUT FITS BUT BECAUSE THE SUBORDINATE COULD NOT SUMMON COURAGE TO PETITION LIKE THAT OF THE IMMIGRATION THE ISSUE IS STILL LINGERING, PLEASE MR. PRESIDENT SPREAD YOUR DRAG NET TO OTHER OUTFITS AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED. BECAUSE TO MY UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCE, CORRUPTION IN MOST OF THESE SECURITY OUTFITS IS ONLY PERPETRATED BY THE JUNIOR ONES, BUT THAT OF THE OGAS IS OFTEN "ENTICED WITH THEIR BONES"

She was sacked by her own

She was sacked by her own brother okey--as a matter of fact she has the right to reject postings from the minister-The minister has no power to post or recruit people into the NID-u see the problem with the Fulanis among other major tribes in Nigeria? Greed! That is why they want Jonah out! When they need posting to lucrative beats they use emirs, obas, obis and sultans-most especially if the minister is from the fulani north-that has been the system in the customs, police, SSS, armed forces among other government agencies 4 d past 52 yrs. Put an Ibo, Yoruba or Fulani man in any place of authority and his first interest will be how to protect his tribes men-Give buhari and tinubu such a chance and u will see them flood the place with ppl from their ethnic group! Its not as if they have answers to the many problems facing 9ja. Never! They are clamoring for power to help their ethnic group!

The truth is bitter

IGBO haters or thoes suffering from Igbophobia, try to read this link a know the truth.

http://www.thisdayonline.com/

The real issue is on posting to overseas and other juicy areas and not illegal employment. A check show that North Central is leading with 18% of Immigration staffs and South East is only fourth with 15%. Insiders will tell you that Mrs Uzoma and the Interior minister has been having a run battle because the minister wants to dictate everything to her. If she can't influence posting of junior officers, why is she then the comptroller of Immigration. The minister wants to do the job of a minister and the comptrollere of Immigration that is the problem. The employment issue is just a smokescreen. The open question is why the minister chose only to interven on the day-to-day activities of Immigration force. Is Nigeria Customs not under his watch?

UNNECESSARY PARIOCHAL SENTIMENTS

Sometimes it is desirable for people to dissipate their energy in arguments instead of engaging in fisticuffs. That is why SR offers an appropriate arena for all to jaw-jaw rather than war-war. But the parochial dimension some of the posts take is shameful to say the least. By the doctrine of delegated responsibility the Minister, as the head of the supervising ministry, represents the President and anything he approves can only be overturned by him or his boss. Where then did the CG get her power from to alter the postings already approved by the Minister without his knowledge? If this report is true, then she considered her self larger than life and had decided to fish in tumultuous waters. Let her square up to the consequences of her irresponsibility. The talk of her sack being hinged on her tribe is hogwash. Do those advocating this not recognize insubordination? Or are they saying that they would have allowed it if they were in Mr Moro's shoes? What is indiscipline to them?

RE; Nigerians think!!

Sensible talk bro!

More sacks should follow

The sacking of the CG of immigration is a right stp in the right direction how about he CG of civil defense , the VC of University of Abuja miss Arumah Oteh of SEC, Deizani of shell and several other criminals and non performing officials in government top position. The government should be more resourceful and should inject performance target individuals like the ifueko omougui and end the rubbish in sec but because our the VC of UNIABUJA and these two powerful ladies are using their natural resources to confused the Jonathan administration the govt is incapable of acting.

Nigerians’ there’s no use

Nigerians’ there’s no use arguing all about these stories.
The question we should rather be asking, is if she was investigated (due process followed) before being asked to leave, bcos If this sort of mess nids to eradicated; if we think so, then let start from ourselves.

GEJ, continue to empower

GEJ, continue to empower those who want to ruin your Government at all cost, you have given them what they wanted at all cost. They now have police, customs and Immigration, that will now open the floodgate for chadians, Nigeriens, Malians to move into Nigeria in droves to help the boko quest to truncate your Government. unless you do not harbour second term agenda or you have decided to hand power back to the born to rule parasites that is only way you may escape it. But you indeed you have plan to go for second term, your name will be sorry in the end. You have demonstrated extreme naivity in handling of affairs of this country. Continue in your foolish actions while we continue to watch you.

Think

@Emmanuel. Thank you very much. At times like these, we are supposed to be united. The woman was doing her own thing and she has been fired (thank God for that) and people are busy insulting each other. What a load of unintelligent juvenile delinquents. It makes me sick to read their comments.

Objectivity

Nobody talked about president investigating the allegation but that immigration boss was sacked upon receipt of ministers petition. If posting loyalist is a crime then mr. President guilty too. Ministers of petroleum and Niger delta have accused of poor performance and yet they are still retained. Bath Nnaji and Rose Uzoma are illustrious Ibos who lost their positions due to northern phobia of mr president.

Jonathan confused, Moro useless!

Jonathan picks and chooses who to discipline, and doesn't waste a time in throwing the person out! This is in spite of his deceptive confession that he takes his time to avoid mistakes! Generally there are many ministers and heads of depts that are useless and abysmally corrupt; however, Jonathan has done nothing to them! If Jonathan is serious let him start his house cleaning by removing Dieziani Allison-Madueke that has only produced sweat, grime, corruption, thievery and ineptitude! I would choose Rose Uzoma over Moro because Rose has done a lot in the Immigration dept. What has Moro done? How has he secured Nigeria's borders against terrorists? How has he succeeded in the national identity cards scheme? This incident showed that Moro could not work with Rose and so must go. Please bring back Rose; let's not populate Nigeria's public service with nonentities because a new and useless Immigration head would now be appointed, probably Moro's brother or sister.

good riddance

why the cry.extend same action to all agencies headed by the HAUSA/FULANI.They also ignore federal character in their employment profiles in favour of these people.Jonathan should not chicken out.2015 is still a long way of.

Jonathan and indeed,the rest

Jonathan and indeed, the rest of Nigerians dont like the ibos. A very simple act of disagreeing with Abba Moro, who have no experience in Immigration will lead to sack of a career civil servant. The same minor thing happened to the former minister of Power,Barth Nnaji. people from other geographical zones have been accused of stealing yet no body sacked them. Jonathan was a mistake. He is immature too. Why do the Ibos listen to him.
In Nigeria, the ibos are the last to be hired and the first to be fired. Nigeria will never work.
