Occupy Nigeria Protesters Regroup, Say Protests Will Continue
Members of the Joint Action Front (JAF) met earlier today at the Labour House in Surulere, Lagos to discuss strategies for sustaining public protests in the face of the Jonathan administration's use of military force to scuttle the protests.
At the end of the meeting, the group vowed to continue with the protests until their demands are met. The group wants the Jonathan administration to revert to the N65 per liter cost of fuel and to institute real economic reforms that would punish fuel marketers and government officials who have defrauded Nigerians through fraudulent fuel subsidy claims. In addition, the group wants the government to agree to significant cuts in the cost of running the different tiers of government.
The group deplored the Jonathan administration's use of soldiers to forcefully disperse peaceful protesters and to harass members of the international media.
re:
protestors protest against something. A group of people get together and complain and show disliking to something. Usually something political. See the site below it helps you to find more information.

END OF BADLUCK!!!
BADLUCK MUST GO!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
@Eddy -No wonder GEJ is NigerDelta Ph.D
Look like your part of the NigerDelta is full of morons. Otherwise you would have known that there is a Yoruba part of the NigerDelta and that NigerDelta has no identity. Tell me who is a NigerDeltan?
For your education or memory upgrade, Nigeria despite massive corruption still make over N400 billion from the Lagos Ports every year and several billions on VAT.
Then a huge oil resources in Yoruba NigerDelta territory. We cant wait for your unproductive bunch of thugs to break away!
Re: bakare has lost his flavour
Analysing Deri's comments in the last few days has shown how unintelligent, myopic and backward he really is. You can imagine what will happen to this country if people like him are in government. He's an ethnic bigot!
Anyone who has read Deri's
Anyone who has read Deri's comments in the past few days will realise that this is simply a person that is deluded, unnecessarily sentimental and an ethnic bigot!
Re-Salutation
God bless you Tunde. You have no cause to be bothered with these pockets of bastards especially those led by the outcast in the Niger-Delta (Asari Dokubo). Dokubo, in a bid to revive his lost identity, used the ample opportunity of the protests to bare his ugly mind, handing down empty threats. What is Dokubo's position on the spate of spiral attacks on innocent and defenseless Nigerians by the most dreaded Boko Haram guys in our midst and whose attacks often threatened the corporate existence of our dearly beloved country, Nigeria. Do not also forget that Dokubo was once a Boko Haram veteran of Niger-Delta before his wings were summarily cut off by the Obj regime. I expected these instruments of the cabals to come out in the streets immediately after GEJ's N97 pronouncement to always insist on the N141 pump price per litre on PMS. They are, but pockets of disgruntled bastards. These are my comments.
The better days ahead
I want to use this meduim to tell my good listening naija that better days are ahead of us. Bakare is a man of honour and deserves good name and not insult. I dont have anything against President Jonathan, he means good for this nation but the corruption in the corridor of power is what he should fight, the money use in runing government is too much and need to be slashed drastically also the allowances of our rep and senate house is not helping matters..... I beg and salute our Nigerian courage for the last one week, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Re: Bakare has lost his flavour
I write to challenge the writer who submitted this. I really don't think you are connected with the realities on ground. Bakare is a man we should all honour for the way he has been showing his true leadership traits. He deserves so much accolades from us. We were asking for true federalism, a well defined democracy and you and me have refused to join the train to chase the thieves we have in power out of their domains, yet the man who took the bold step is here being criticised. We really have to respect integrity as posterity might not forgive us. Let's join our hands together to fight for our right.
Jonathan has all what it takes now to prove himself right, but he has failed to demonstrate that capabilities in him.
Let us shun sentiments and rise up for true justice.
Deri and his crap
Deri your posting tells a lot about you. You are totally insane and suffering from chronic amnesia also. This means that you are in a state of mental retardation and perpetual forgetfulness. If these are not your problem why are you writing the crap on this site. Tell Otile and your fellow Yoruba haters to narrate to you what the Save Nigeria Group led by Pastor Bakare and others did to ensure that Nigerians know about the conditions of Late Preident Yar Adua when she was hijacked by his wife Turai and the cabal. Shut up you dirty mouth and stop writing nonesense on this site again.
Salutation
Salutation to all patrotic Nigerians who came out and willingly stayed at home to express there displeasure on GEJ policies. We will surely get there. Nigeria will be great. The eagle will fly higher again.
To the cowards that sat at home and says we were wasting our time, shame on you. If you believed so much in GEJ policies, you will all have come out openly to organise your own rally to support GEJ. Shame on you, if you buy the fuel at N97. To show your solidarity for GEJ, you must always insist on buying fuel at N141. There is still enough time for you to repent and have a rethink.
To GEJ, time is no longer on your side. The people who voted you are complaining. Ten million military men may not be enough one day to safe guard your job. Be a true leader of the people. Stop listening to all the sycophants that you have surrounded yourself with. Watch your back always.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless my Fatherland
PRAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY
Fashola is workin, GEJ is lookin, patience is speakin, Boko HAram is bombin, Senators are lootin, fuel is rising, cost of living is rising, Nigerians are complainin and protestin, who is PRAYING?????
Been followin saharanreporters for a whlie now, and it baffles me wen i hear Ɯα̲̅†̥ ppl are sayin..... Instead of complainin on d net where no one wud and attend to U̶̲̥̅̊ , get on ur knees and pray for Nigeria...think about it....
@ deri
@deri:u r a woeful student of history. This same bakare were the ones that by save nigeria protested on the streets to make sure the clueless and shoeless GEJ was rightly made president.NOw u open ur dirty mouth to talk nonsense...Another idiot called them touts...I Pity our people cos u ve no sense of history to guide u.
Change you can believe In!
Folks,
This is Badluck Jonathan's version of "Change you can believe In....The more you look, the less you see.
Abami Eda put it nicely: BBC = Big, Blind Country. Badluck Jonathan like previous rulers only have one eye and, it's a borrowed eye from oyinbo...that is why corruption dey, authority-stealing dey.
Badluck Jonathan should note that Otuoke won't hide him when the tsunami comes. By deploying ill-discipline soldiers/sss/police personnel to quell a peaceful protest, he as shown us his true color, him along with all is cohorts will be severely punished...eternal condemnation awaits them.
National Assembly of Illiterates Thieves
"Compromise their large allowance"-i agree with you sir.We should rename NASS as NAIT, (National Assembly of Illiterates & Thieves).Bunch of god for nothing Rogues masquerading as lawmakers.
bakare has lost his flavour
Rubbish, that is the most annoying aspect of this bakare and buhari episode. Bakare went out on the streets because the senate and the house refused to do their jobs-why should Tuarai hold the nation hostage? Was Bakare not around when Yara Adua was smuggled into aso rock-is that what we should experience in a democracy? Was Turai not playing games with us because jonathan is an ijaw man?
Would she and the cabal holding the nation to ransom have done what they did, if jonathan were to be a yoruba or fulani man? pls stop this crap about bakare being instrumental to GEJ becoming the president of nigeria-its rubbish-the game is over let him go to the senate and house and speak his mind over national issues such as resource control-fiscal federalism- and not protest then end up becoming buharis VP the next day-
@Eddy. Your mentality stinks, who are the hoodlums?
Are they not nigerians like you? Bloody fool.
START ACTION IN NIGERIA AND WE OUTSIDE WILL INTERNATIONALISE IT.
BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN NIGERIA, PLEASE START THE PROTEST AGAIN AND WE WILL OCCUPY NIGERIAN HOUSE IN LONDON, AGAIN IN SOLIDARITY. THE BATTLE TO FREE OURSELVES FROM THIEVES MUST INTENSIFY. THERE MUST NO REST FOR THE WICKED.

THESE ARE OUR MINIMUM DEMAND FOR PEACE IN NIGERIA. PLEASE; LAGOS, ABUJA, IBADAN, KANO, KADUNA, JOS, BENIN, ABA, PORT HARCOURT, CALABAR, WARRI - LETS GO NOW. NIGERIA MUST BE SAVED FROM THE THROES OF UNASHAMED THIEVES.
Either u're foolish or not
Either u're foolish or not enlightened, mumu u think sw and north is Nigeria abi, idiot, nkita racha kwa gi anya.
stupidity of most Nigerian
Lead us and we will follow. Don't stay inside your house and be inciting others to die for you.
stupidity of most nigerians
i pity some naija people who always dont know what a defining moment is. Dis battle is not about party, tribe or religion. If u dont know what to say just shut ur big ugly mouth! It is not about bakare, dino melaiye or whoever. It is a cry for justice, truth and equity in governance. And for those of u who brandish certificates and don't know jack. Get a life! Everyday nigerians pray to God for light and now dat opportunity presents itself,if we lose it, it is gone for life. So speak and be heard or ur kids suffer just as u are now!
@Goddy
You are one of those good for nothing big mouth small brain on this forum. Same Bakare risked his life when Turai was making a mess of your clueless brother. Where was he then? Hiding under his umblelar 'widow' wife. Get real and appreciate people that stand for Justice and truth. Jonathan is a lier, robber and rogue. TIME WILL TELL!
KEEP IT UP
Well done guys, keep up the pressure. Omar and Esele have sold out. Please remain the beacon of hope for Nigeria. The masses want a profound change to the way the country is governed.
gej gave in
Gej should not have shifted ground if he is sincere with us. Instead he should have faced the issues riased: corruption, bad road, comatose refineries, min wage and over blown cost of running govt. Gej, wake up and act a president for once!
subsidy
I am a yoruba that is with gej on subsidy removal. You hav really shown how ignorant and uninfomed u are. Pity your likes
You just gave away your strategy to the "enemy"
Hello Mr Garba, I praise your efforts and as far I am concerned, if the President has introduce violence into the process by using the army and the police, then we have to up the anty by calling for regime change. He has to go, sorry! This should be the next demand. After all, the university professors have been on strike since November ... they should be out in force to let this man know, enough is enough! Jonathan must go, period!
My brother this is not a
My brother this is not a tribal or regional war. The protests and agitations go well beyond price of pms. It is a war by the majority of nigerian people against bad leadership. Remember yorubas were clearly against obj while he was president too. You and I know that GEJ is a fool.
What is Fashola trying to prove?
I'm surprised that Gov Fashola could justify some hoodlums parading as civil soceity groups members. On AIT we all saw them this morning taking over the whole of Ikorodu road. This goes to show that with all that Fashola claims to be doing, Lagos is still populated by area boys and girls. Those of us from the south-south are praying that this oil will dry up so that you can have time in lagos to practice your own form of democracy according to the yorubas Yoruba lawyers in lagos asked the NLC and TUC to disobey a valid order of the National Industrial Court, yet they are telling us they are defending democracy. What a shame.
Protesters regroup: Protests to continue
Is the objective to bring down the roof? Nigerians did not vote for this group to rule. Entrenched political interests should not be masquerading as championing the interests of the people. Tunde Bakare contested the presidential election on a joint ticket with Buhari and lost. CPC, using street urchins, unleashed mayhem killing innocent Nigerians-including NYSC members serving in the North-claiming the most credible election in Nigeria was rigged at Buhari's expense! Deregulation is not bad in itself. What we quarrelled with was the manner of its introduction, and fact that corruption, especially in the oil sector, be tackled. The President has noted and reacted positively. We must be vigilant and monitor what the govt promised it will do with proceeds from the fuel subsidy removal. We must also be vigilant and watch out for the activities of the likes of Tunde Bakare. They can continue their protests indefinitely provided they do not encroach on our rights.
Manifestation of a tyrant
Using soldiers to disperse peaceful protest is the method of a tyrant. One wonders how reuben Abati feels in the midst of this mess. We are now getting a whiff of the fresh air that Jonathan promised Nigerians.
