Protesters in Kaduna today defied trade union leaders and the threat of soldiers deployed overnight by the Nigerian government. As early as 8:00 AM a large number of protesters marched through the streets and listened to the address by activists at a public park.

The former governor Kaduna, Alhaji Balarabe Musa and Comrade Shehu Sanni also addressed the rallies in defiance of a controversial order by leaders of the trade unions late last night suspending all street protests and rallies.

Balarabe Perform more than Obasanjo

@Dickson: 1 of the achievement of Balarabe Musa was building 14 active Industries in the defunct Kaduna State (Kaduna & Katsina) 7 are presently in Kaduna and 7 in the present Katsina State. So, before you talk go and understand the topic well, do your research before conclusion. And go and know the two individuals Shehu Sani (Human Right Activist) and Uba Sani (Special Adviser to Obasanjo).

kaduna mob

@ Dickson, may be u were too young to know the regime of balarabe musa as governor of kaduna.go and read history my friend b4 u make comments on national issues. What did NLC?TUC did that they deserved kudos?is it by staging the drama scripted by the Federal government?QeL7A FOOL.

Their generations to come will suffer from this.

I'm sure their incoming generation will definately reap the BAD SEEDS they are sowing now. After this term, no one from the South-South region will ever get to this position again. Because they are all birds of the same feather. Coward Jonathan deployed soldiers to unarmed protesters while sacred of arresting the so called cabals. Maybe he, Jonathan forgot he is chief of armed forces when Boko Haram chased him out of Eagle square. Shameless man.

CPC HAS A RIGHT, DO THEY NOT?

Even if it is the CPC, Are idiots saying that they do not have any right, regardless that they are a political party/group, to protest? Is the party not a registered party? Is there any law prohibiting people of the same opinion coming together to express their disagreement over a government policy? All those foolish and bias people writing rubbish here should go back to school. Was it the CPC who asked your idiotic president to jack-up the pump price of PMS illegally and without any consultation? Why don't you address the legality of the increase rather than condemn people who have legitimate rights to express their disdain over the matter? In the Nigerian constitution, where does it say that it is only organised Labour that could declare protests and demonstrations? Foolish Nigerians should wake up and smell the coffee.

Total sell out.

NLC Umar and TUC Esele we believe u have satisfied ur conscience now, however, we know ur actions will definitely trail u if u have indeed sold out the masses for #8billion. For sure u will go in the way of ur predecessors.......

Kudos Nigerians

Yinka, you indeed a patriotic nigeria indeed, bold, honest and without bias. I vehemently agree with you. Our southern brothers and sisters might not have to wait for coordinating leaders to effect the contineous protest against this heartless administration.

Nigerians pls lets move on

where on earth did u get all this figures and fake fact. pls stop your unconfirmed and malicious message we have to move on as a country but you can continue to remain on a spot with your protest.

Sold Out By Labor

Labor leadership sold us out again. As long as we refuse to take matters into our own hands, we shall continue to be sold out by corrupt labor. Look at at Oshiomole who used to be labor president. he is now federal govt. spokesperson. Money speaking! Corruption is here to stay as long as we are afraid to take matters in our own hands.

we have nothng to lose

1 MAN STARTED THE PROTEST IN TUNISIA..............WE CAN DO THIS PEOPLE, YES WE CAN.

u re senselss

UR thought shows u re senseless, if CPC is actually bhind d protest, they must ve done d right thing. else, wuld d FG ve brot it 2 N97? even @ N97, will d cost of things reduce? a word is enof 4 d zombieeeees

Shehu sani

I can understand ur sectional sentiment but I wunt tolerate ur ignorance..shehu sani was never an SA to Obasanjo .You are mistaken him with Uba Sani who served as SA to Obasanjo.

Chantin a wrong course by protesters!

I understand that many have being cadjole to partake in d protest. Imagine hausa boy when ask why are demostratin he reply that “i saw! we dont want GEJ and i tot dy said we shld remove him and put BUHARI“dat is to say ppl dont realy know which they are fighting
Besise removal subsidy is to d best interest of evrybody, Nigerian resist it. Rethink naija
For balarebe and other political leader we know ur grieviances and is not to d best interest of d masses

NLC? Questionable characters

NLC was previously offered N65 on Tuesday by this same Fed Government, for talks to continue till March/ April before any increment in price. They said 'NO' and went on to negotiate a better deal of N97 for us after collecting N8Billion bribe, NLC cash in on ordinary Nigerians. They sold us for a little chops and some coins @ Aso-Rock, they never went there to represent Nigerians but themselves. Now they are Billionaires, just look at their body language in all the pictures taken 'Omar was almost prostrating for 'Okonjo Iweala' look @ Rotimi Amechi expression saying 'that's what we've been telling you to play ball'. Why all the handshakes and laughter, but let us all commend Pastor Tunde Bakare& Femi Falana for there steadfastness. The struggle continues, and l know one day VICTORY is for the masses.

Not CPC

Please be focus and stop polarizing a geninue people strike and expression of bad leadership. CPC has nothing to do with the increase in the pump prise of PMS as they are not the one in Govt. It is PDP palaver and slow your temper on a honest leader. Bakare amd CO and of SNG who help bring the Presidemt to act when all hope was lost

Kudana mob

Nigerian let stop living in a fool paradise, Balarabe Musa an activist has never organised a protest against Boko haram killing, A former governor indeed, show us his achievement when he was in power, Shehu Sani, a former SA to Obasanjo defended third term passionately, these guys don't have any credentials to lead any protest, they are all wolfs in sheep clothing. Kudos to NLC/TUC. I Pray for their leadership. They must hold the Jonathan govt. acountable in fighting corruption.

U are MAD

U are Mad as u refer d ppl at KD 200 only. Balarabe Musa is human right activist, he is fighting 4 ur right but it seems u want 2 die a slave with no future. Pity on u

YES!!! LAGOS MOVE IS C.P.C AT WORK

Who doesn't know that Politician (not Pastor) Bakare is CPC? Falana, Aremu and Abiodun are Politician Bakare's closet friends in Lagos? It is CPC!!!!!

Njokede this shows how naive

Njokede this shows how naive a lot of u Nigerians are.
The leader of that northern protest is Balarabe Musa. Plz go
read about him. The only time he felt relieved in 13 years was
During your ignorant protest against this Government.
He has been angry since 1999 because South took over. Sir i can bet
A million Naira it's not a fair protest but a bias one. Thank you

The Middle Class are the Resistors to Subsidy Removal and not th

Contrary to the argument that the poorman will be the one to suffer if subsidy is removed, pictures from demostration sites shows clearly that the middle class of Nigeria-the workers are the most hit and are the one prostesting. There was no protest from any village of the several of them scattered across Nigeria. It is an amazement!

IT'S BUHARI/CPC AGENTS INDEED

I support you. I thank God that some are beginning to think honestly devoid of sentiments. All the northern states were you find mayhem were states were Buhari and his CPC men lost the elections. Balarabe must protest because he got money and several PTF contracts from Buhari. Pay back time for shehu Sanni and Balarabe Musa. Up CPC!!!!!

Christians must start planning their protest against BOKO HARAM killings. If anyone says it's not CPC agenda, then lets see the kind of multitude that protested against subsidy arise to protest again the innocent BOKO HARAM killings of southerners, igbos and christians: then i will belief.

Not massive

How can a crowd of 100 people be described as massive? Sahara reporters should stop inciting Nigerians from the comfort of their base in New York, USA.

Mammoth crowd

This is indeed a mammoth crowd, in millions

OCCUPY NAMA, BEANS AND ONIONS

Iam sure these kaduna protesters are occupying their Nama, Beans and onions and not the oil from the devastated land of Niger Delta.
I hope they are occupying the churches left unbombed by the agent of darkness or are they occupying the scattered property of the Igbos and other southerners that their Boko Haram have destroyed? The Southern people of Nigeria are not fools someone should inform them.Lets; not wake up the sleeping dog!

Kaduna

Your heart is full of hate. You are so blind to see.

Re-Mass protest in kaduna 16/01/2012

Dont b bias nd emotional in ur statement!!! Dont forget that people hav d right to peacful demonstration.
