Ondo Gubernatorial Election Live Updates: First Results In- ACN Candidate Defeated In His Ward

I feel proud and happy to be identified as an Ondo man. At work today, people congratulated me, not only because Mimiko won, but because ACN and Bola Tinubu could not have their way.

I am tall because the fraud techniques of ACN failed with Ondo peopele. I live in Lagos and i once saw Tinubu threw a pack of notes on a gang of youths- oh what a struggle to pick a few notes from it. At another time recorded CDs were distributed, some claiming that five hundred notes were enclosed. I feel so bad about these incidents as, i believe any right thinking man should. My sister travelled home only to say that Tinubu has also "imported" this into Ondo, distributing cash, cloths etc.
I am happy that Ondo people knew better. And ACN's inluence from now will wane in the South West. Their deceptions will be known to all men. And Tinubi will surely fall- lies will not last!

Oyo and Osun people are sceptical about the motives of ACN governance.
Tinubu should be written off to secure future for ACN. He is crook, nothing less. Ajimobi has no roap map, he is copicant and yet not getting it right. Aregbe seems to be a vissionary leader, but he is beclouded with Party agenda, caloumny, and second term agenda. Electorate are informed now and can detect pretence, deceit and insincererity. Unless Aregbe forget bitterness, truly sincere,and consistently deliver good governance for the people he might end more miserably. YOU GOT TO THINK STRAIGHT NOW

its no big deal if acn loses,but it will be,if pdp wins,that will be retrogresive for the sw.i believe the worst acn government is better than the best pdp govt,as for acn leadership,greed and high handedness will make them destroy the house they have built.If acn had not compromised the southwest,we may not be having this kind of leadership at the federal level now,so those thumping their chest for pdp and berating Tinubu now.have benefited from his antics in the past.Lest the governors work for the people,as this may be the sole factor in future polls.

MY ANALYSIS: Tinubu will not accept peoples choice within their party (ACN), because he will only want that candidate to be subjected to him, for him to acquire more money form that candidate if eventual won. A good leader shouldnt be sayin out what is sayin at their dramatic campaign, he said he spent millions of pound(£) on Gov. Mimiko to get back his mandate, why must he need to spell that to the public? How much will Gov. Mimiko spent, if he spent that much, or does it mean that Gov. Mimiko doesn't have money to spend that time? Why must he spend that much on him in the first place, if he is nt expecting double or is he a good samaritan?
Very soon he will tell us again how much of millions in pound(£) he spent on his candidate (akeredolu).

What is false about the report? your post further confirmed that Akeredolu actually lost though with a margin, but LP still the winner. Even if it is just 1 lead, Lp remains the winner.

From look of things couple with better and solid arrangement Inec has made or have on ground, it is now clear that Political jobbers and election riggers have no place in ondo election. i mean it is no more business as usual and the best candidate will surely win and that's why we have seen an headline like First Results In- ACN Candidate Defeated In His Ward, if it is before nobody can defeat any candidate in his/her home ground. i mean money would have change hands to effect any changes to the candidate wish. You have put on your best and who knows what Ondo people would say tomorrow when next you contest? Let the people of Ondo State see the shine in you by your magnanimity in defeat.

Dr GEJ, the INEC and the people of Ondo State have shown a sense of maturity and patriotism in this past election. Nigerians should cultivate the habit of appreciating good work when it is done. We in Ondo state confirm that the election was free and fair. In fact the most credible election I have witnessed in Nigeria. Those that are not in Ondo state should come and witness themselves what the governor Mimiko did to deserve this Landslide winning, if I may call it. Other governors should learn from this--Nigerian citizens are beginning to get enlightened. Money politics does not work again. You will only be voted when you engage in projects that will affect the masses. Oshomole, Fashola and Mimiko are very good examples. Nigerians take note

Yes, I'm glad he's not interfering with the election results. However, I don't know what you call legendary achievement. He is doing the right thing alright. Does your dad get special award for raising his kids right? Why should GEJ get any special thank you for doing what he's supposed to do? Yes, we've had ignorant and selfish leaders like OBJ but that does not mean that we have to roll the red carpet because GEJ did not interfere with election results. We have to expect the best from our leaders.He is definitely showing good example in this respect and i hope others that come after him will do the same.

I don't know whr u people got your results from, the one I have had PDP leading in 10 local govt area of the state. Don't use your useless propaganda to forstall chaos in ondo state. Let's wait for INEC's publication before you can start saying any rubbish.

Its very sad and disheartening to comment on Ondo's election result the way u did. If PDP as a party consists of rogues,do u think ACN is better off? I tell u that ACN is worse than the PDP when it comes to been progressives. Tell me one good reason why Ondo people should vote for Aketi that has no interaction with his people? I knew all along that Aketi cannot win elections even in owo.Now it is just evident that nigerians will no longer be taken for a ride. ACN has insulted the people of ondo state by fielding a candidate with no clue about governance talk less of a manifesto, i mean did anybody watched d election debate?, Governance is seriuos business, IROKO continue the good work...God bless ondo state.

I think the results coming from Ondo State are expected. The ACN leaders over reacted to issues which ordinarilly should have been personal and thus insulted democratic system and Ondo people. It is expected that he will fail in civilised environment like Ondo State, when he decided to turn himself to a small god forgetting that most of the States his party is controlling today are by circumstance. Now with all the noise and threat, he has only ended up in exposing himself and his party.

Tinubu has made himself and his party vunerable to attacks especially in the South West. It is only a matter of time before PDP will re-capture some states from ACN. He only ended up in telling th world that there is nothing uncommon or special about ACN. THe next state ACN is going to loose is Oyo State follow by Osun and Ogun. Ekiti State should also be prepare to get out of Tinube control.
