Orji Kalu the former governor of Abia State, who is currently facing corruption charges for looting the government while in office, has put up his United States mansion up for sale, according to real estate records obtained by SaharaReporters.

The property, which is on five acres of land at 14900 River Road, Potomac, Maryland, has seven bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms.

It not clear why Kalu is selling the home but last year a 47-year old Nigerian woman, Chinwe Masi, mysteriously died on the property while Mr. Kalu was there.

Although the Maryland coroner office told SaharaReporters that Chinwe, who was purportedly Mr. Kalu's mistress, died of heart attack, family members and friends said they suspected foul play.  They cited the rushed and secret burial which was done by a select group of family members.

Associates of Mr. Kalu also told SaharaReporters that since leaving office in 2007, the former governor's financial fortunes have dipped.

Businesses such as his Slok airline in Gambia have failed.

Kalu’s mother, Eunice Uzor, also owns $1.3 million, six-bedroom waterfront property at 4922 Shapiro Court Missouri City, Texas 77459.

Mr. Kalu had originally listed the Potomac home, which was built in 1996, for $4.5 million, but after 139 days on the market without a buyer, he drastically reduced the price to $2.9 million.

Mr. Kalu bought the property in June 2003, a few months after he became a second term governor of Abia State, a state he recklessly looted in a series corruption schemes that led to his arrest and arraignment for money laundering in 2007 after he stepped down as governor.

Go to Alaba and you will see

Go to Alaba and you will see that you don't need to be in government to make things happen. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have never ruled America. But you know them. You think by going with the north you can get somewhere. The Igbo man (the Biafran) is everywhere. That is why they have a Biafran Market in Cotonue, your backyard. You can only be area boys waiting to loot other people's property. Shameless cowards. Fight a war let's see if you will survive it. IBB annulled the June 12 election because he knew you'll not do anything. OBJ got there because they know you (Yoruba) never wanted him.

Orji Kalu Offers US mansion for sale

You are a sad piece of xxxx. Who called you 2nd class. Its only your people that always feel they are treated as 2nd class. Maybe you are since no one, no one has every ref to your pip as 2nd class. There is only one class in Nigeria and we are all in it. So cool your temper, Okirika man.

RE: RACIST

@MUSA OLAIWON: God bless you for your comment, I wish many more people will get to see it and appreciate the candor in that statement.

RE:RACIST

The rate at which some Nigerians are rebuking each other on the face of the newspaper left much to be desired.
I have worked with Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo and other tribes in Nigeria when i was at the Nigerian Ports Authority and i have no regret to call myself a Nigerian wherever i am anywhere in the world.
Igbos are very industrous. intelligent and dynnamic. Yorubas are very hardworking, highly educated and politically awakened. Hausas are very patrotic, honest and God fearing.The treasury looters in Nigeria cut across the major tribes and majority of Nigerians are poor.
People should keep their mouth shut if they don't have anything good to say. The Igbo are my brothers and Hausas are not my enemies in any way whatsoever.
God bless Nigeria.

MUMU OPC man

See this MUMU OPC man. He says Igbos are second class citizens in Nigeria. And who are the first class? - Hausa, Yoruba, Ijebu, Egba,Ijaw, Nupe, Igbira, Tiv, Fulani, Itsekiri, Edo, Jukun, Urhobo, Efik, Ibibio, Anang, Kanuri or who? I am sure you are Yoruba. So, if you and your Yoruba race are first class, show me in what way this has personally benefitted you as a person, you poor, hungry, dejected, miserable church rat. If you dont have any thing meaningful to contribute, please shut up your foul-smelling, Ogogoro-infested mouth. Mr OPC, I am sure that deep inside you, you are convinced that Igbos are superior to you and your Yoruba people. At our personal level, I am your superior any day, any where around the universe, for sure. If you doubt me, then let's arrange for a liaison. That way we will decide for our selves who is first class, who is second class, who is enjoying Nigeria more, who is miserable and dejected and who can defend his race. I am ewaiting, you fool.

@OPC and IJAWMAN

All of you lots put together are still no match for the Igbos. You think you ruling, go ahead and rule your useless country and I am happy the Igbos are not part of the political set up of your useless country called Nigeria. You can have it all, I am Biafran in the first place. Go to my father's compound and see the work of the GOD of IGBO. Jesus said, 'destroy this temple and i will rebuild it in 3 days' Nigeria tried to destroy Biafra but shame, we rose from the ashes and are all over the world and on top of you and will always be. Please again check out Innoson on the internet. WE did not build it with oil money. Until any other tribe on this continent can do that, the best for you will be to shut your MUMU mouths up

Lesson: Satan will use and dump you as refuse!

The question is Why is Kalu selling the property now?

Could he be broke or is the ghost of Chinwe Masi harasssing the heck out of Kalu as "Chinwe Masi, mysteriously died on the property while Mr. Kalu was there."

I will think twice to buy such property that is not only stolen('after he became a second term governor of Abia State, a state he recklessly looted in a series corruption schemes that led to his arrest and arraignment for money laundering in 2007...') but also the site of such tragedy.

Goodluck to his latest venture, as I hope it does not go the way Businesses such as his Slok airline in Gambia have gone.

Lesson: Satan will use and dump you as refuse!

Orji Kalu's property at River RD, Potomac, Maryland. for Sale.

Hi Saharareporters does the EFCC and Mrs. F Waziri know that Orji Kalu is selling this property? If Orji Kalu have a case pending in court for money laundering it is very likely that this property is the proceed of money laundary and cannot be sold before the resolution of money laundary against Mr. Orji Kalu pending in Court. I strongly advise the Saharareporters to contact the EFCC and MS. F. Waziri about this sale otherwise, the EFCC and MS. Waziri would look the other way and claim ignorant as usual.

House is worth $1.7m, why is he asking for 2.9m?

Well, OK bought the house for $1.7 million in 2003 and will be lucky to sell it at $1.7m that is currently the worth of the house now. See link:

The igbos we all know are

The igbos we all know are criminals. I remember when GEJ was campaigning, Igbos quickly claimed he is an igbo man because his middle which is igbo.Like I said, you people will remain second class Nigerians until you come down from your high horse of inferiority, we are better than all for which you have nothing to show in the political calculations of Nigeria. The lazy mumu ijaw, fisherman now rules you and your idiotic fathers, where is your so called knowledge and mastery of everything you claim you have? I am happy none of you criminals deny the allegation that you are con men, fraudsters.

@ Ijawman

My MUMU Bros, I told you to check INNOSON out. Just go to the internet and type INNOSON HUMER and what you find will tell you that the IGBOMAN is above your league. Small, Small, we will be cpmpeting with the Japanese and the rest of the inttelligent races of the world, GOD's Grace. You told me to go get a job, sorry Bros, I have one already. I am a Pilot by training and I can retire if I want, and go to do what my beloved IGBO do best, SELF RELIANCE. That is a lot better than carrying guns and breaking pipes thereby polluting your already messed up land. I weep for you guys, damaging and vandalizing what is already yours is hardly the best way to fight for justice, that my Bros is called foolishness. Sorry Bros, I am not doing my job in your Nigeria, that country you can have for now. Nobody stops you from living in Igboland or any other place in the world. You can hate IGBO all you want, but what DIFFERENCE does it make?

@Ijawman

Those of us who are descerned knows that some of you shameless idiots who errornously believed that the Igbos can be bought with money were so disappointed in the last elections.you people never exepected the Igbos to speak with one voice, but they did which informed why the impersonation of Ijaw to create disaffection amongst both ethnic groups. As an Igboman, I will never join issues with an Ijaw person because it is already clear to the average Ijawman who their real enemies are. Igbos are not the only people in the world who loves to work hard to make money, afterall you have many Indians and Chinese people doing their business in Nigeria

@ijawman, you cant be an

@ijawman, you cant be an Ijaw, going by your postings you sound more like a sore loser possibly from the B-Haramite tribe of bombers, if you have been to Igboland you will not make such silly comments, the least developed village in Igboland is by far better than your town no matter where you come from. You said Igbos ruined the nation, and I ask how? It is on record no Igboman has ruled this country in the last 45 years, if the country is backward, don't blame the Igbos, we have been a passenger in the last 45 years. Those who you should blame for your backwardness and poverty are those who have been on the Driver's seat in the last 45 years, if the country is backward, it is because of them. No real Ijawman will accuse the Igbos of being responsible for Nigeria's backwardness, it is only a disgruntled boko haramite like you will vomit such trash.

@ Ijawman

I told you, your people are lazy bastards. So you have oil and still IGBOS have ruined your Usless Nigeria, Haba! so what kind of MuMu your mama is to have given birth to a MUMU son that will fold his hands and let the IGBO ruined your country. May be you woke up too late, 40 years later. The Vehicle produced in igbo land is Called INNOSON HUMER and it is all over the land in the East and Abuja, it is made in NNEWI ANAMBARA state. ONE thing for sure drunk fisherman, is that the least intelligent IGBO person is better off than you, your MUMU MAMA and PAPA. YOU Ijaw bastards look like the pigmis of Congo. Ugly as hell. Oh! sorry, INNOSON is verifiable my MUMU brother, Check it out

WE NEED TO BE TALKING ABOUT BREAKING UP NIGERIA.

Nigeria Is A Failed State And SAINT Will Be In Seat Of Power In Any Failed State And Will Not Be Corrupt Because When A System Is Corrupt Everything Attached On On That System Will Be Also Corrupt.As Many Of You That Is Blaming People That Is Attached With The System That They Are Corrupt,If You Have The Opportunity To Seat On The Same Chair Like Those People,You Will Equally Do The Same Because The System Is Bad And What We Will Be Talking Here Is Not About The Past But The Solution Which Is How To Make Mr President To Know The Important Of Calling For Sovereign National Conference For All Tribe/Ethnic To Come And Decide How To DIVIDE So Called Nigeria Which People Don't Want To Be Address As Nigerian In Outside World,Nobody Is Proud Of So Called Nigeria,Breaking Up Is The Only Solution That Will Bring Peace Among The People That Is Living Together As One Nigeria With We Know That We Are Not One And We Will Not Be One No matter How You Do It.

Buyer of Kalu's house found!

May be Kalu should sell his mansion to Okonjo-Iweala or to her bro. According to WikiLeaks, the Iwealas made a handsome chicken change of US $50 million through a dubious consultancy contract which Okonjo-Iweala as Finance minister under Ali Baba Olusegun Obasanjo dashed her bro. As I see it, if Okonjo-Iweala buys Orji Kalu's mansion, the property ( as well as the evil money )will remain in Igbo hands. That way, Naija wins! Happy ending, no be so? Okonjo-Iweala robs Naija to pay Orji Kalu who robbed Abia dry. Who says crime doesn't pay? Our Naija is living proof that it does.

Please tell us your bribe story at: http://www.bribenigeria.com

Please tell us your bribe story at: http://www.bribenigeria.com -- Fighting Corruption in Nigeria!!

I have no business with you,

I have no business with you, mr man. At least you did not deny being a fraudster. You are building vehicles, where are these vehicles? Who is buying such vehicles? You are the best is the song you have been singing in the past 50 years yet your region in Nigeria is one of the most backward in the land. You migrate en mass to where you think things are happening while you abandon your god-forsaken igboland. My friend, if you have no job, why dont you bury your head in shame. You people have ruined this nation out of massive greed and insatiable appetite for quick wealth, bastards.

When shall Mrs. F. Waziri get that Special Court she asked for?

He cannot have rushed to buy this in his 1st term of four or six years as being proposed now because even his aides and the civil service would shudder to allow him do that! Even here the task of discovering these malpractices is not what EFCC should be doing considering the time factor on top of it Mrs. Waziri has asked for Special Court to assist to expedite its assignment and we still cannot agree to! Those refusing to grant hope they’ll one day be in position to grab too. Nigeria TAKU!

Aragbawagi nti, if u lack

Aragbawagi nti, if u lack what to say, it would've been better for you to keep ur dirty mouth shut. Infact, I wonder why sahara reporters allow lunatics like you to make comment on this page. For now, let me leave u to rot.

@The Avenger, Don't cry for

@The Avenger, Don't cry for Igbos argentina, which other part of Nigeria is not crying of marginalization today. Tell me any Governor of today that is not stealing from his state, even though there are some who pretends to be stealing little. With the way the Country is structured, it will be very hard to find a saint amongst the lot. Everyone of them sees himself as the Chief Excutive officer of his state which means the State Treasury is in his private purse to dispense. You people have not notice how those wicked Governors cornered their Local Government's allocation.

@ Ijawman

A typical Igbo man is a fraudster, and what about it? I have heard that before, tell me something different fisherman. Typical Ijaw lazy bastard. You all will die of envy. it may help your poverty stricken tribe to may be copy the ingenuity of the Igboman. Remember your useless land is wasted and it will take 30 years to clean it up, that is if you have $100 billion dollars by UN estimates. Soon you may have to drink your oil. Igbos are already BUILDING Vehicles and honestly speaking, Igbos would prefer not to have anything in common with your vision-less MUMU people.Oil follows from your backyard, still you live in mud houses. This will never happen in Igboland. Who born you?

..... now to the storm!

My only hope is that the proceeds from these criminal activities would be repatriated to Nigerian coffers.
Now this wont bother Jonathan or his corruption czar, Waziri a bit. They are already on course to access their own loot from elsewhere. Whence will the money come?
Kindly step out madame Ngosi Iweala-Okonjo with the fuel subsidy removal file!
