Police Thwarts Attempted Kidnapping Of Delta State Official
Delta State police command today thwarted an attempt by kidnappers to abduct the state's top civil servant, Okey Ofili. Mr. Ofili is the Delta State Head of Service. The kidnap attempt occurred in Asaba on Sunday evening.
Police spokesperson ASP Charles Mouka said Mr. Ofili was shot in the process but escaped from his abductors.
Also, the state commissioner of information, Chike Ogeah said Mr. Ofili is in stable condition and recuperating at an undisclosed medical facility in the state.
Delta State Head of Service
Sir Okey Ofili is not in the group of corrupt civil servants. He is a through bred public servant who rose to the post of head of service by dint of hard work, dedication and service to God and humanity. May God continue to protect him from the band of corrupt politicians that control affairs of Delta State and forgive those posting adverse comments on the person they know nothing about.
Leaders beware!!!
Let this serve as a warning note to all our leaders, that as you prefer to loot the public treasury to buy luxurious houses abroad, and subject the rest of the populace to unemployment, hopelessness and hunger, neither you nor your family shall live in peace!
Re: He is Lucky
I am happy everything i see news like this. He is lucky that he survived. Now the evil that they have done is coming back to hunt them..they have stolen all our wealth and so they deserve all that they get now....May their children never prosper
That they shoot him means
That they shoot him means they didn't come for money but for his life. Baba God you too much.
My question is: If Mr Ofili
My question is: If Mr Ofili escaped and was shot in the process then then what action did the police take to thwart the kidnap attempt? Did they engage the kidnappers? The article does not mention any such action or is the police now claiming credit for all failled criminal activity whether they were in the vicinity or not.
HE IS PART OF THE PROBLEM
When politicians and civil servants steal, they don't realise the impact of their actions on the bigger society. I will be surprised if Mr Ofili is not part of the problem that gave birth to frustrated unemployed youths who now feel they have no other option to survive but to resort to this. It doesn't make their actions right but it should be a wake-up call.
How many innocent people have died but because they are not prominent people, it doesn't make headline news? People were dying on our bad roads, the people in power turned a blind eye because they could afford to fly until the planes started falling out of the sky!! I read the other day about how some rich people are now flying to Lagos through London to go to Abuja because they are afraid to take direct flights!
The hen always comes home to roost so all hands should be put on deck to solve the multitude of our problems.
God bless Nigeria.
GENTLEMAN
OFILI is a perfect gentleman and a thorough bred civil servant who cannot l repeat cannot hurt a fly. Our Almighty God will always protect him
Instead of the governor to
Instead of the governor to address the most pressing security issue of kidnapping, all e goes about doing in interfering with Kingship issues Abavo community is having. His uncle was kidnapped and he probably paid a ransom for his release. Till today te kidnappers of his uncle are at large. The governor should leave Abavo people alone to crown the king they chose for themselves and not impose a detector on them.
join us
surprise surprise. So a southerner can also steal abi? I thought only northerners know how to steal the commonwealth. The sooner you southerners realize that corruption is our problem and not religion or regional considerations the better it will be for us all. Yes i mentioned southerners because northerners turned a corner since 2003. The north has consistently voted for an upright man(buhari) for 12 years. Who has the south voted during this time? Obasanjo, a sick yaradua and now goodluck! Mega corruption GEJ!
The south should join us drive this despot from power. However, if the south is much more comfortable with trillion naira stealing gEJ than buhari then by all means! Let the torture continue.
Please
The seeds of corruption the Nigerian politicians sowed are now yielding results for them to reap. Guys please kidnap the midget Governor Uduaghan instead and demand your share of the trillions he has stolen like his cousin Ibori.
