Rest in Peace

May his gentle soul rest in peace, His legacy will always remain in our hearts

Late Prof. Sam. Aluko

The Late Prof. Samuel Aluko has contributed immesely to the economy growth of this country at the time his services required though he served briefly under Late General Sani Abacha but his impact was a brilliant one. The country will miss him and the entire world.
Sleep well Prof.

An exemplinary Life

i received the news of your death as a rude shock. Those who know your worth, will surely miss your intellectual prowess. But we take solace in the fact that your name has been written the economic palace of the modern world. Prof, may God grant you eternal rest.

A great mind passes passing away

The country has lost one of the best and finest minds. He was a courageous, fearless and very honest , this country needs leaders like him. The Federal /Ekiti state Govt should immortalise him. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

death will come to all

Humanity passes away from generation to generation. He was lucky to have lived long. This is a call to speak d truth always. Since u will die someday

YOU SHALL BE GREATLY MISSED

I have had the opportunities of sitting with him at close quarters. One of his sons and my humble self are married to siblings.
What struck me most about him was his humility. This is the great Prof Aluko sitting unassuming like an ordinary mortal.
He came, he saw, he conquered. Adieu!

@texdee: Prof Aluko did not midwife SAP, Chief Olu Falae did.

@Anonymous (not verified) on February 7, 2012 - 20:07. If you look back in recent history, you would know that Abacha administration (I hate admitting this), among all Nigerian past and present rulers, happened to the best period when our economy thrived the most. He called the bluffs of IMF and World Bank. He refused to devalue the currency beyond =N=85/$. This rate subsisted throughout Abacha's four years.

Abacha may be a bad man but give it to him, he managed this economy well courtesy of Prof Aluko.
You can confirm this.

May God console your family

May God console your family my senior colleague

Eseoghene, Are you not the

Eseoghene,
Are you not the Islamist from Delta who used to write controversial comments defending Muslims in PUNCH? How come you are playing dead nowadays?

Prof. Aluko

Do you see the shape of his head?
Certainly, he was an egg-head!
R. I. P., the husband of Joyce, the father of Bolaji.

Pa Sam Aluko ,Adiu.

Another iconic, unasuming,a nerd,an egg head who lived the most simplistic lifestyle on earth has passed away.May his soul rest in perfect peace,Amen.Nigeria just lost another gem ,our prayers to Mama and his children at this critical moment.Though Papa might be gone, his name had been written in gold and diamond of Nigeria HISTORY.On academic pratico-economics,on political analytical egonomics, on Ondo-Ikene-national stage,Nigerians cannot but celibrate you for generations to come.Adiu Pa Sam Aluko.RIP.

What a loss

Sam Aluko's passage is a watershed in the affairs of our nation. When Awo died he said that the only man he trusted to run this country properly was no more. I believe this was instrumental in his decision to serve under Abacha - as bad as he was. Abacha's rejection of IMF/World Bank hegemony also attracted him.Obasanjo was contemptuous of Aluko because of his support for Abacha but Obasanjo turned out to be the worst plague ever visited on Nigeria. When the history of our country is finally written Obasanjo's perfidy will be highlighted and the patriotism of people like Aluko will be acknowledged. RIP Sam. You will be sorely missed.

Indeed, the sad passing of a true Icon!

A beacon of hope and a pointer to what true potentials Nigeria could have achieved. Yes, an icon has departed.

May God grant those who were near and dear to you, and indeed the rest of Nigeria, the fortitude to bear with your passing!

Adieu.

More Genus

May Nigeria have millions more genus like Prof. Sam Aluko.

He is and remains a HERO

My your humble soul rest in peace

The real Sam Aluko, the one

The real Sam Aluko, the one that rejected a salary because he perceived it was to much to pay him, died the day he gave his soul to Abacha...we are just about to bury the carcass.

ADIEU PROF

May the soul of the professor rest in peace. The evil that men do live after them. Thank God, our profess is not evil, a rare economic prof of his era. He did the best for Nigeria and humanity in general. REST IN PEACE, oh pro. We will miss great men like you in our midst.

Sun re o Prof Sam Aluko

The mentor of Ekiti education.
You remain eternal in our heart.
Goodbye.

Rest In Eternal Perfect Peace Daddy!!

Hi Daddy, Father, Pa and our Brother:

Oh why Him???

I still don't understand why people who contributed to the growth of the nation keeps dying whilst the very bad ones who have brought this entity to a sorry state still bounces looking to wreck more havoc. I don't him personally but have heard much about him. Why are people like OBJ, Buhari and IBB still alive? Is one question I can't find answers to. The blood of these crooks must be split for the cleansing of our dear country.

RIP prof Sam Aluko!!!

Oh, I forgot: Thank you Prof,

Oh, I forgot: Thank you Prof, for that interview on Dim Ojukwu. You revealed truths we might never have known and thereby put liars and confusionists to eternal shame. OAU should look for a good road within the campus and name it after Prof Aluko. Everybody knows he deserved it.

Death of Prof Sam Aluko

I join millions of other Nigerians to mourn the exit of this foremost nationalist at a time our country is going though multiple challenges. Chief among is confidence among ourselves and trust of our leaders. Good bye to a gentleman in all ramifications.

Prof Aluko breathed, walked

Prof Aluko breathed, walked and talked economics. I learnt economics under his tutelage. He freely defined economics as "common sense made difficult" to make the point that any one who is not good in managing scarce resources is simply dumb or worthless! He fulfilled his mission on earth. He will surely rest in peace.

FAR THEE WELL OLD PROF,YOU WILL BE MISSED

Why are we losing good and decent men like the good professor and Chief M T Mbu within this short period, what have we done to be witnessing this kind of loss, while people like Obasanjo,Babangida,Buhari etc are still around doing what I don't know

Please when will the Obasanjo

Please when will the Obasanjo die? I cant wait to celebrate his death. There is nothing gentle about the souls of all these miscrants. Burn in hell!, burn!! well come to think of it, there is nothing like hell either.

Structura Adjustment Programmes

The man Pro Sam Aluko gave Babangida SAP, the best option, to the dying nigeria economy then which Banangida in his cunny self turned to looting spree. He helped Abacha though a lucifer, to stabilise the ecomony. He advised Obasanjo but he thought he was surfering from serenity. History judged him right. May his soul rest in peace.

RIP, Prof

May the decent soul of this great son of Nigeria rest in peace. Amen!

RIP

A huge loss, a gallant departure. That sums it up. Adieu prof
