Shake Up In The Millitary As Goodluck Jonathan Sacks Service Chiefs, Afiz Ringim Is New Inspector General Of Police
The long overdue shake-up of the military establishment has just taken place in Nigeria. Goodluck Jonathan has announced the removal all military service chiefs.
More to Come.
the long overdue EXIT of the big boys
this is an indication that above every other thing , 'God is still answering prayers
its also an indication that no BULLY can just come from NO WHERE and sit permanently in a place like mount zion.
IN SHORT LETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED IN WATCH THE BATTLE OF THE TITTANS ( THE EVIL GENIUS VS BABA IYABO ) LET THE PUBLICS BE THE REFF .
IN A COUNTRY WHERE ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, GOD PLS DONT FOLD UR HAND AND BE WATCHING US , WE KNW U ARE AT WORK AGAIN.
this is Obasanjo's third
this is Obasanjo's third term. JEG action is so reflective of OBJ. The cabal behind Jonathan is acting.
re-The change was long overdue
Haba why should people write best on religion and self interest to public?sheik Gumi is late he has never join military in his life, the fact that his son is in legal service and Danbazau was sack doest give people room to insult the great sheik to ever come out of AFRICA.It's time and it shall come to pass.
The shake up is long overdue
The shake up is long overdue especially for Gen. Dambazzau. He has been over ambitious officer and very stupid. I congratulate the whole of the officers and men of the Army. No wonder they had a celebration party yesterday. Dambazzau has solely destroyed the Army with his hausa background. He is a very dull and stupid officer. EFCC should go after him for all the Billions of dollars he stole from the Armed forces and United Nations peace keeping force. Its high time we make him to pay for his sins right from his hay days.
My sincere advice is that he should be jailed along side his ADC that made him ( Dambazzau) to promote his course-mates to the rank of LT.COL when other arm of service has not been promoted or announced. He should be arrested for all the heinous crime commited by him. He converted Army money to his personal money.
SHAKE UP IN SECURITY SERVICES IN NIGERIA
The sack of the Security Services Chiefs was long overdue. It is however better late than never. The loyalty of the Security Chiefs were in doubt and there were too many security breaches. Well done Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for acting promptly. May God bless you with long life and the Wisdom of Solomon.
Fear not for the LORD is with thee and come 2011 God would bring to pass His great Promise, your election as the President of the Ferderal Republic of Nigeria.
The next phase of the shake up/ battle against the Cabals is the immediate sack of the CBN Governor, Mallam Sanusi and EFCC Chairman, Mrs Waziri Farida. The Falsehood called Banking Reform without end has crippled the economy which has created Insecurity in Governance.
Sanusi has turned CBN from the engine room for creation of wealth and employment into a destructive monster devouring the the economic fabric of the nation.
As for Mrs Waziri Farida who was appointed/nominated by Chief Ibori and company her sack should have be achieved on day one Dr Jonathan was appointed President. If anybody is to take the Federal Government fight against corruption seriously EFCC Chairman should be sacked immediately
Show them..
I thought sum ppl said JEG was too slow n quiet?? You guys havent seen nothin yet, never mistake quietness for intimidation or timidity. This is only the beginnin, wait till JEG comes back in 2011..everybody in public office will sit up. Call it election politics or victimization, the President is takin bold steps to redeem this Country's image
THANK GOD DAMBAZAU IS GONE
Thank God Dambazau is gone. Nigerians please know that never in the history of the Nigerian Army has ethnic consciousness been brought to the fore like in Dambazau's era. If you are not from KANO, KATSINA or NIGER,where his Military Secretary (MS)is from, be sure no juicy posting for you.During his era also, non- northern officers were posted out of the former 4 Guards Battalion in Abuja sometimes in june last year. The facts are there the MS can explain. He also promoted mediocrity and formation of cliques in the Army. Foreign courses were meant for his cronies disregarding merit meanwhile he was a huge beneficiary of merit from the system. the list goes on and on we thank God.
WELOME GOODLUCK AND NIGERIA
WHAT EVER THAT WILL MAKE NIGERIA GOOD LET IT HAPPAN IS OUR PRAYER EVERY DAY
Three kpozaa for Jonathan
WELL DONE GEAJ. RIDE ON.
As an Ex-Military officr , I
As an Ex-Military officr , I commend the Commander in Chief for a wise and brilliant redployment/replacement . Petirin , an excellent fighter Pilot , lucky he is now the CDS . DanBazau ? , I never liked that guy , I see him as ambitious and arrogant . He was hoping to be the next CDS . Dike , an intelligent , fine gentleman , sharp and eloquent Airforce General . That is one officer the Military and Nigeria is going to miss .
Ok Mr Ringim , having served in Bayelsa and Umuahia , time for you to stop the kidnappings , Armed Robbery and Road Block Extortion.
Dont care who the next Service Chiefs are ,Hausa , Igbo , Yoruba . Northerner , Southerner . Pope or Chief Imam . They are Nigerians serving Nigeria
to us
may God help us in our contry'many know the problem but who will do that.the changes he did is best he can do now.i see no tribalism in the changes. maybe another tribe can stop kidnaping in the southeast in which onove came from.all is well.
Dike was one of best service
Dike was one of best service chiefs ever produced!
HURRICANE JONATHAN
IT IS A TRADITION ALL MOST ALL THE PAST PRESIDENTS/HEADS OF STATES FELT UNCOMFORTABLE USING SOMEONE OUTSIDE HIS TRIBE AS A CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF, ONLY IRONSI THAT APPOINTED GOWON, GOWON USED A JUNIOR OFFICER JOE AKAHAN THEN AND GEN BISIALLA, ,MURTALA USED GEN T Y DANJUMA AND OBASANJO USED GEN AKINRINADE, SHAGARI USED GEN JS JALO, BUHARI USED GEN IBB, IBB USED ABACHA AND LATER USED SALIHU IBRAHIM, ABACHA USED GEN BAMIYI ,ABDUSALAM USED ANOTHER NORTHEN GEN , OBASANJO SECOND COMING USED GEN OGBOMUDIA AND LATE YARADUA USED GEN NUHU BAMALI AND LATER GEN DAMBAZU AND GJ NOW APPOINTED A KINS MAN TO FOLLOW THE TRADITION
Excellently said, but I would
Excellently said, but I would like to add that Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike is the most contented officer the Armed Forces have ever produced. I can tell you that 99% of members of the Armed Forces would have liked Chief Marshal Paul Dike to still remain in Service. But as the Holy Book says ... There is time for everything. Well done and goodbye great general and may God be with you.
Don't blame Onovo
It´s good news that the IG and the head of the SSS have both been replaced, but I don't think Onovo or the former SSS boss were solely responsible for their downfall. The entire structure in place makes for a great disaster recipe. A vaste country like Nigeria, needs a comprehensive decentralization of power for effective governeance. There should be a greater decentralization of power in order to limit the beauraucracies in carrying out effective law enforcements in the various states. The state commisioners should be held responsible for the crime situations in their states down to the local government police bosses. Reasonable targets should be set and proper accountability in place and the foot soldiers(the street police and traffick officers) must all be given new orientation classes on the need for real dedication to service.
I cant advise my worst any
I cant advise my worst any enemy to the Nigerian Police Force;please,I hate not that force per say,but the attitudes of the personels.I would candidly suggest that you dont join the police force, specifically, except you possess OND,ND,HND,BSC and above before you can be seen and called a police man. These days you see some touts in police uniform;manner of approach, they lack.Mobile police are better civilised.
Well Done Jonathan!
Most of these people making noise here are not Ibos. No real ‘Onye-Igbo’ (man or woman) will criticize the removal of the most ineffective IG like Onovo! Even is his home state Anambara, this IG could not stop kidnappers terrorizing his brothers & sisters; and someone is telling us he should just occupy space because he is an Ibo man? Did he join Nigeria police to be an Ibo man in uniform or to do a job? Iwu, Ojo Maduekwe, Ogbulafor, Onovo and others from every tribe in Nigeria NEVER serve anybody while in office other than self! These people are users. The next thing we will hear is either ‘I was removed from office because I’m a Christian or southerner’ as if we never knew their tribe, religion or zone while in office and using same position in looting our commonwealth. You people should wake up. There is no leader presently (only Fashola) in Nigeria that thinks his or her position is for serving anybody other than self and immediate family! Jonathan, well done! There is one particular name missing from these lots, Farida Waziri of EFCC. Every police man/woman retired or in active service is corrupt. All join Nigeria police for nothing else other than collection of toll at every roadblock along all roads in Nigeria! They are all Criminals!
Who exactly praised ONOVO
This Ijaw man may not be the messiah but he could very well be the "forerunner" that Nigeria needs right now. Onovo was unable to check the rampant kidnapping in southeast, he was unable to reform the police (infact recently, there was a purported roadblock in Lagos that led to an accident where a tanker exploded and killed so many people), His one yr in office appears to be filled with inaction, he appears to have misinformed the public during the Kidnapping SAGA of the journalists in Abia( He appeared to indicate that the kingpin and some of the kidnappers were caught and up till date, no one has been paraded). Onovo didn't appear to have taken any initiatives to reduce corruption in the police.
So the question should be "What has Onovo accomplished to retain the seat of an IG?
Sack Of Service Chiefs
Well done President Jonathan. That was a right move you made. Purging Nigeria of corrupt officers who are not interested in the security of the nation they serve. Onovo was only interested in rescuing the four Kidnapped journalists because he was mandated to. What of the rest of Abians who face firing squad every day of the week at Aba and its environs. I have been a victim but my 3 friends were not lucky to live and tell the tale. The fourh is still in intensive care unit hanging unto life. What did he do? Living large in the capital city and allowing Abians to their fate. The same thing applies to every part of the country.
The other service chiefs are more loyal to a retired general than to the Commader-in-Chief of the Federal Republic. They should even be tried for treason. Appoint people who will serve with integrity and not road block service chiefs
ALLOW JONATHAN TO TAKE HIS TIME
Pls guys, allow GEJ to take his time. He has advisers and they are not doing badly for now. Don't forget that Nigeria is a complex system, more complex than America. Your enemy could dine with you now and plot your downfall the next minute. Even in all these moves, GEJ is still naive. Letz help him grow since it appears he has good intentions. OBJ is doing good job on him.
why the axe?
Did President Goodluck make any statements as to why he has to let go those officers?
I think it is necessary to hear from the president as to why the axe then, we can have a clearer view of his face to land him a sucker punch if necessary and avoid “oops I’m wrong” and the president is right.

The sacking of Onovo and his replacement with Ihejirika is the most blatant rubbish ever seen in the history of Nigeria. Can someone tell me where this Ijaw man is taking Nigeria to? What is the reason for this move? What prompts the sacking of Onovo who everyone had praised as a fine officer? He is barely a year in that place. Has he refused to play ball? Did he refuse to scuumb to the whims of Jonathan and his ilk? May God help Nigeria."}
My reply to the top post
I see that you are one of those people that think that in order to rule, you have to be from a major tribe like God made Nigeria for only the three major tribes.
If not for the "Ijaw Man" you will have the oil money to squander or run for election like people do now.
If you come to the south or the east and also the west, you will see a million road block but also an increase in crime. As a matter of fact, Sahara reporters are running a story on police brutality and public display of road block extortion. What has Onovo done in regards to that?
When Jonathan does something wrong we blast him but, I do not see where changing a corrupt police head is leading the country in the wrong direction or has to do with what region he comes from. I want to know who praised Onovo because the only reason he found those journalist was because he was given 48 hours or his job will be taken.
Since you feel that Onovo was a good officer, please name the ideas and innovation has he implemented in the country to fight corruption and other forms of crime.
I wait for your response "you anonymous man"
shedding the dead woods in the system
The president show he has backbone after all and is shedding the dead woods in the system. It was long over due I have to admit. The police force is shambolic totally infiltrated by incompetent people and killers of innocent civilians. Infact it needs a MASSIVE OVERHAUL. YES President Goodluck E Jonathan please just go all out and rip open the rotten pandora's box and flush these rogues down the loo.
Paul Dike and the Service Chiefs
Brilliant move by Jonathan. Thet were all overdue for retirement having served for over 35yrs. Among all of them, Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike stands out distinctively. A gentleman and one of the finest officers ever to serve the Armed forces. He will greatly, surely and dearly be missed by a majority of members of the armed forces after nearly 38yrs of meritorious service.
Brilliant Move
A brilliant move by Jonathan. All the service chief and IGP were overdue to retire. Having served well over 35yrs. I hope their successors will match or exceed the mark they reached. Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike stands out among all of them. A gentleman and one of the finest officers ever to serve the Nigerian Armed Forces. He will surely and dearly be missed by the majority, after almost 38yrs of meritorious service to the nation.
IBB HAS BEEN DISLODGED
THE SACKING OF THE SERVICE THIEVES AND THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE AND THE SSS DIRECTOR IS A WELCOME DEVELPOPMENT.BECAUSE IT WILL DISLOCATE THAT BIG FRAUD CALLED IBB IN THE 2011
This is not a Tribal Matter
For those angling to strangle Jonathan on his latest move to remove the personnel are both academic and political neophytes or pigmies. This is a strategic move for the president. He has to be his man. Were you not the ones asking him to get some spine and be the man few months ago? He has to set up his own team and has nothing to do with tribalism or sacking Dike or Onovo. Onovo has performed badly security-wise. One thing is to be intelligent and the other is to direct the intelligence, wisdom, and energy to increase productivity. Onovo failed in that category.
Jonathan could not have spared anybody in that group because all of them were appointed by Yar'Adua. Otherwise, he you will be the ones labelling him a tribalist. He did the right thing and needs an applaud. Nigeria is not a country to be ruled by tribal politics and mediocrity.
The change was long overdue
The change was long overdue most especially the army chief who is pursuing an islamisation and kanonisation of the army with gen gumi abubakar son of the notorious fanatic gumi of kaduna. God will judge his evil deeds. unfortunately we in the army know the new chief as the most corrupt general( after the present chief of army finance, gen charles ariavbere0. we will miss Dike though(a near perfect man). jonathan is bringing wrong corrupt and unprincipled people to win election at all cost. a la baba obj
