Soldiers Storm Suspected Gun Runner’s Home In Kaduna, Three Months After Court Freed Him
About three months after he was set free by a Kaduna court following the discovery of weapons and military uniforms, and being linked by the Nigeria Army with terrorism activities, a combined team of security operatives in Kaduna today stormed the home of Comrade Nuhu Mohammed and over 100 houses in his neighborhood.
A senior official of the State Security Service, speaking on condition of anonymity, told SaharaReporters that the team stormed the Tirkania area following a tip-off, but that findings will not be revealed until consultations and further investigations in other Kaduna locations are completed.
The source said that while there were some facts in the tip received, the service will only shed more light at the end of its investigations.
The source further added that Comrade Mohammed, alias Babawo, who was once the leader of the Petrol Tankers union, is presently campaigning to be elected again and may be indulging in several security breaches in the area.
It would be recalled that Mohammed was first arrested along with his son last year in January 2012, after which Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Edun, then assistant director of public relations of the First Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, stated as follows:
“The activities for which Alhaji Nuhu Mohammed Marafa attracted the attention of the Nigerian Army bordered on issues of national security.
Specifically, the army claimed it has to do with gun-running and suspected connection with and support for a terrorist group. After extensive surveillance, troops of 1 Division of Nigerian Army during the night of 13/14 January 2011, conducted a cordon-and-search operation on the compound of Alhaji Nuhu Mohammed Marafa, located at Tirkania, opposite IBBL Kaduna. Before troops could gain entry into the compound, there was a gunshot fired at the soldiers from the compound. It was later revealed that the shot was fired allegedly by Yusuf Nuhu Mohammed, the son of Alhaji Nuhu Mohammed Marafa. Yusuf escaped with the weapon by scaling the perimeter wall of the compound.”
The Nigerian Army gave a list of the following weapons reportedly found in their search of Mr. Marafa’s home during his last arrest:

Re: Assurance & Stupidity.
You know, its unfortunate that Nigerians with what ever professions we have, give room to be rediculed! People were suspected, investigated, persecuted &... HELLO! Let loose! Now, what stops them or anybody for that matter not to go commit more?
As for 2nd Mr. Anonymus claiming comments are 'stupidity', why mention 'battle'? Is it 'opinions' you think the Army will battle with? When there are more 'terrifying' issues? Do the words 'priority', 'on the doubl', 'life & death', 'pronto', etc ring bells & how despirately Nigeria needs peace? For crying out loud, there are countless ongoing battles yet to be won on the field. Please the last thing we want is 'one more battle'. If you are keen about peace, do not mention the word 'battle' or seek for it over cyber opinions... Which by the way people have right to. Stop belittling the Army. As it is, serious Arm work is to be on the defensive & not on an uncalled-for-offensive. Think very well.
educated biggot
when you come to comment on issues like this, show some level of intelligence. when items are recorded they do not necessarily mean they are weapons, and who says they can't be?, but they are a list of items found at the point of search.
Assurance
You don't just throw insultive words at the Army because a Jornal post blunder on his edition. The SAHARA News forum is not mounted by the Army, so be careful on what you say.
Stupidity
You dere put up the guts to insult the Army, are we the reporters here or is SAHARA Nigeria Army news forum? What do you guys think you know? Just mind your comments so that you don't get yourself into a battle were you can't fight.

Corruption in Judicially, This is what encourage criminal activities in they Country Nigeria, shame shame.
NORTHERN CONNECTS
This has been a bane in the most northern states of the federation. at first, the culprit was vice-president thug in his 2011 governorship campaign election in Kaduna state. How was he released? Who order his released? we must understand the under-ground politics being play in northern Nigeria: a pastor was arrested with a pistol and ammunitions in tafawa belwa lga of Bauchi state, he was drag to a court headed by a Muslim judge, he was convicted and jailed 4 years, even though he pleaded he got the gun for safe defense as a result of Muslim terrorists group attacking his people. A Muslim sheik was arrested in Zaria with 3 A.K 47 rifles and ammunitions in Kaduna state two years ago. He was drag to a court headed by a Muslim judge in Kaduna state, after the long delayed, he was freed on bail. Now, who freed him? The same Muslim judge of course did. Where is the justice my people?
Was he not freed by a judge
Was he not freed by a judge from the North? 3 Nigeria one law for the minority groups in the North and South
Just Curious
So how was he released the first place? Is there any power above *Nigerians* that authorized his release?
Other weapons discovered in
Other weapons discovered in his apartment includes three chairs, 6 stools, 1 queens size bed and a pot soup.
If novel, group photograph, voters card are classified as weapons, then I believe my list is more deadly :)
Babawo,IfGuiltyShouldBeCastrated
Shut up!!.... Those were the lists of items found in the course of investigation. If a novel was listed, it must be for a reason. A match stick can be listed, so long it'll provide a link and help solve the puzzle.
How come nobody's talking about the ammunitions and other weapons...
If that Babawo, is found to harbour any weapon illegally, he should be dealt with...... Why do we support people simply because we share some stupid affinity like religion? It is not for nothing the soldiers are after him.... I mean, he's not the only wealthy Muslim in Kaduna and certainly isn't big enough to warrant the Army wasting her time and resources were it not for a reason.... This is the Nigerian Army, not the Police....!!
Nigerian Authors are Boko Haram
Look at the way Nigerian security shows there lack of inteligent. Arresting man possessing a Novel what of his Chickens, Duck, well or Tap-water and others?.

There Goes the Campaign for Reading Culture...
Ok... Ahm please sombody out there tell me how reading culture will be encouraged and successful? A 'novel' is classified a 'weapon'... except if this 'novel' in question is one of those James Bond (007) trick weapons. Then we may have a movie titled 'The Last Duty with Nigerian Army' staring the Chief of Army Staff, Minister of Defence and GEF.
Such weapons as these were
Such weapons as these were found on these men and then freed? What type of government have we?
a "novel" is a "weapon"?
"The Nigerian Army gave a list of the following weapons reportedly found in their search of Mr. Marafa’s home during his last arrest: [blablabla] ... A novel titled The Last Duty by Isidore Okpehwo ... [blablabla]"
These sojaman are fully qualify to join Bukuru Haram!
(Association of Nigerian Authors, pls take note.)
Haba!
And the court released him? The Nigerian judiciary has a lot to answer for, in our curent troubles. They are easily bought, intimidated or simly disinterested. Something needs to change.
