Voter Apathy In Jonathan's Bayelsa Gubernatorial Election
Voters in Bayelsa state largely avoided voting centers in the court-ordered gubernatorial elections in the state.
Election observers in the state told Saharareporters that turn out was generally low across the state. President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife are in the state waiting to vote in controversial election in which the handpicked candidate of Mr. Jonathan is expected to win.
An team of observers covering Osekeleke community in Sagbama local government said their materials were forcefully taken from them and thrown into the sea.
Also, in Yenegoa, an observer reported tha police and youth corp members were aiding the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in thumbprinting ballot paper.
