Letter to Jonathan: Forgery of certificates by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Abdullahi Inde Dikko: The grand cover-up

Your Excellency:I am totally ashamed this minute to be a Nigerian as I write this. For more than six months now, it has become public knowledge that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Abdullahi Inde Dikko has been pointedly accused of forging his WAEC Certificate and that of the Nigerian Institute of Management and yet nothing has been done by the authorities up till this minute. Once again, I attach herewith the sworn affidavit of the person who actually facilitated the forgery and copies of the certificates in question.
I have decided to bring this to your attention because what frustrated the investigation before now is the family tie between Alhaji Dikko and Hajia Turai Yar’Adua, the wife of the ailing President. This is because before now I have written to ALL the security agencies on this matter, and all of them developed cold feet because of Hajia Turai Yar’Adua.

But for how long can the nation continue to tolerate a Comptroller-General of Customs whom the whole world knows has questions to answer regarding the authenticity of his certificates and who is being blackmailed left, right and center by those who know but have decided to cover him up? How can the Chief Security Officer of the nation’s borders - both land, air and sea - perform without fear or favour with such an albatross hanging around his neck? The security and economic implication of a Comptroller-General of Customs who is susceptible to blackmail is very grave indeed and cannot be over-emphasized.

Your Excellency, before now, I took the following steps:

(1)    On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, I wrote to the President and Commander-in-Chief, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Find attached a copy.

(2)    On Wednesday, September 23, 2009, I wrote to ALL the Security Chiefs in the country. Also find attached a copy.

(3)    On the 22nd day of October, 2009, I proceeded to the Chief Magistrates Court, Wuse Zone 6, and secured a court order for the Police to probe the certificates and report to court. Find attached the court order. Yet the Police bluntly refused to do anything till today. Curiously, immediately the order was given, the Chief Judge of the FCT directed the investigation of a spurious petition written by Alhaji Dikko against the Magistrate, which petition was never served on us, and which effectively stopped the progress of the case.

It is so sad that a highly-placed law-enforcement officer can be dodging investigation of his certificates by the Police. That is the lowest ebb to which the country has sunk. Is Dikko saying that the Police cannot be ordered to look at his certificates?

In all of these, there is a grand cover-up of this very, very messy issue and it is causing all of us shame and embarrassment. Even a section of the press that should uphold high standards in public life has blacked out the issue and refused to talk about it. Instead, some hired goons of Alhaji Dikko have taken out paid adverts attacking my person with the hope of silencing me. I have remained unbowed because such attacks only re-invigorate my determination to see to the end of this national shame.

Mr. Acting President, I pray you in the name of God, of Allah, of Ogun, of Orunmila, and of all other gods and the God you worship to rise above selfish interests and act in the nation’s interest by ordering ALL security agencies to immediately investigate and report their findings to you.

May God continue to guard and guide you.

Yours most trusted,

FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

Is quite unfortunate we still have some of this people in our system, going by the petition if its true, then Ag President should kindly to what suppose to be done, However, I challenge my Northern brothers to please prioritize and seek for more education which is the only solution to the regional problem, why is it always north? from Salisu Buhari to Speaker Aminu Masari, to Senator Kano and now Custom Boss Dikko. Please we need to wake up to realities, send our childrens to school, stop and outlaw Almajiranchi, begging, redundancy, street hawking and make education free and compulsory across the entire 19 northern states! unless this thing is done otherwise, we are slowly becoming Nigerian future slaves! Nura Manu Soro..nuramanu2002@yahoo.com

ALL WE ARE SAYING.......GO DIKKO GO! ALL WE ARE SAYING , GO FORGER GO! ALL WE ARE SAYING GO CRIMINAL GO! GO WHERE YOU MAY ASK? STRAIGHT TO KIRIKIRI, KUJE, BOMPAI OR GASHUA! JAIL IS NOT FOR ONE SET OF PEOPLE ONLY, THIS CRIME HAS BEEN EXPOSED, THE PENALTY MUST BE PAID. GOVERNMENT, STOP THIS UGLY CONCEALMENT, DO NOT BECOME AN ACCOMPLICE. DIKKO TIME TO REAP WHAT YOU HAVE SOWN, KIRIKIRI BECKONS YOU, GO! MR PRESIDENT, THIS MAN MUST NOT DRAW MARCH WAGES, HE STANDS DISMISSED.MURTALA MOHAMMED WILL NOT CONDONE THIS. BUHARI/ IDIAGBON WILL NOT LET IT LIE LOW. OBASANJO WOULD HAVE JAILED HIM. OF COURSE GREAT ZIK AND GREAT AWO WOULD HAVE LONG PARTED WAYS WITH HIM. STOP HOBNOBBING THE DIKKOS AND IBORIS. WE ALL CRY, DIKKO GO!

This is what you get in a banana republic. Sorry o Naija men, women and children. The nation is doomed.

Keyamo, I understand the need for you to bring this case to the court of public opinion but you are simply one of the mad men in an insane society as Nigeria is. If I am not mistaken since I am not a learned fellow like you but I think the law believes those who must come to Equity must come with clean hands. Therefore, can Jonathan's hand be said to be clean? Nigeria is simply a failed State where in the face of economic hardship, our government is still bloated to over 40 ministerial portfolios with attendant consequence on our national treasury. For your information, I have since stopped singing "Arise O' Compatriots" because, there is simply none in Nigeria but a bunch of loonies.

Too many of our highly placed officers and civil servants has this cert" issue. pls leave dikko alone , let who whoever that is incharge make sure cert" are verified before appointing them. we have too much pressing issues to fix than this and besides, his a good man for the job.

I have always been wary about Festus Keyamo who is spearheading this battle against the Customs Boss.My fear is centred around the genuineness of his motives in the battles he elects to fight. He makes me uncomfortable with the selectivity of the battles which tend to portray him as posturing for nothing. However,Keyamo's battle against Bode and now against this certificate forger is worth the concept. As for the Acting President, this is not a big deal except that this is Nigeria. For goodness sake, the Chief of Staff in your office should write a simple memo directing that the custom boss responds to the petition within three(3)days.The same memo minuted to the Security Bosses should furnish the office of the President actions so far taken and the details of the verification of the certificates all within four(4)days.Jonathan can lay this issue to rest in 7days including the decision taken. We cannot continue like this Mr President!

Senate has jerked up the educational qualification to aspire to presidency, senate and governorship contests to tertiary certificate. There are too many bogus certificates in Nigeria with no education to match. We need plenty education and less certificates. More round pegs in round roles. Prove your worth!

This same man is possibly behind sponsored stories in newspapers about how good the customs that he haeads has improved. More money from Seme boarder than ever before. His men are in good morale. The customs department has never been this good. One was writeen by OPC (Odua) officer. I cannot believe these articles in papers are by accident.

I never imagine that Toronto certificate can exist in a highly respected office like this. This is very embarrassing to hear !!. this is not only insulting to the custom as an organisation ,but a big blow to the generality of fellow nigerians. How can we have a comptroller-general without a WAEC result?. Habahh !!! Somebody must do something and very quickly.

Festus, indeed ur pursiut of justice over this mata is infectious,i see u as an opportunist, eating from were u did not sow, If u know u really want to expose curruption, investigate wat transpired between waziri(EFCC CHAIR) and Mr Uwaje. post the details on SR, Onuku

inde dikko is just a tip of the iceberg, just like in the south, the bests from the north are also left out of governance in naija. Inde was not even smart enough to cook up his certificates from the north with all the professors they are churning out from there these days. He even could not get the name of his so-called higher institution right. It shows how lazy he and his patners are mentally. It is part of born to rule.

Hmmmmm, when we have criminals as watchers of our boarders, it leaves much to be desired. Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria, what kind of country is this? Why did God made me to be born in this good-for-nothing country?

This is indeed a serious allegation that must not be swept under the carpet, Turai or no Turai. I hope the government takes this seriously.

Certificate verification is a world-wide phenomenon. When Salisu Buhari desecrated the Legislature with forgery, he was shown the way out. Aminu Bello Masari however managed the same House of Representative without WASC/ NECO, or GCE O/Level. Why is government foot-dragging? How come we have two sets of Laws, one for the masses anther for the "very few?". Must this man escape the laws as we turn the other side? Government will soon package a soft-landing, and reward him with retirement at Tax Payers' expense. If INDE DIKKO possesses the right credentials, why not present it? If he rose by dint of hardwork without forgery even without certificate, its another thing. To allow a common criminal take charge of such an important organ of government is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. To allow selective justice in the land is shameful. Go DIKKO go! Chikena!

@FESTUS, keep knocking on that door, it will definitely open. I know exactly how u are feeling. we are equally battling a very corrupt system and enterprise in Nigeria and know the inherent lies and tactics these children of the corn employ to make sure that truth never sees the light of day.but just like in every disposable product, everything that has to do with evil has an expiration date....keep on pushing, victory will be ours in the name of the true God we worship. Amen

the nation needs to revalue itself. a nation built on liars and political sychophants is not ready for justice. nigerians are deluding themselves by banking on democracy. what is needed is a total clean up crews, meaning revolution by the people. not by the corrupt military establishment which is busy haggling for oil wells. jonathan, the acting president is one of them. have nigerians forgotten how he looted his home state and how his wife was caught with millions of dollars and pounds.that case is still pending. i promise, it would not see day light.bet me! the acting president has no moral standing to bring justice. his days will pass like that of ibb,obj and yaradua.nigeria is a flawed system only a question of time before it disintegrates as gadaffi predicted.

It takes pains and sacrifice to pass through the four walls of an educational institute being it Primary, Secondary or University and it's equivalent so any body who forges qulification to uptain certain favor should be made to pay the cost. The case of Alhaji Dikko above should be abhored by the government and sundry, the government should set up a panel to investigate the issues and possibly all pending pettitions of to the government since the past ten years to clean up the system.

Good request, but the Acting president hands may as well be tied by unknown power that be in Aso Rock hence we are in PADDY PADDY leadership government in Nigeria!
Don't forget than no corrupt or terror impersination like this can take place without the prior consent of ibb & obj who also possess same forgery certificates if not below the same standard of this confirm criminal Boss of Nigerian Customs & Excise!

Festus my Brother. Sorry o. This generation is not for you o. What do you expect from a country of liars? From the President, Turai, to the man on the street. The law officers, their family members, relations and friends are busy josttling for political appointments, their bread and butter. Once they solve their poverty problem, Nigeria can die, for all they care. There will be no investigation, nor enguiry into this, I bet you. Those who should investigate are guilty of forged birth cert., NYSC cert.,etc. Truth is dead. This generation is gone, sold to lie and deceit. Next generation please

Festus your tenacity in pursuit of justice over this matter is infectious.
