A nation where law enforcement corps are populated with men like the common thugs shown in the picture is nothing but a banana republic. Its leaders should bury their heads in shame. Elsewhere, an incident like this would lead to firings in the hierarchies of the police. This is why these criminals in uniform have no qualms in killing innocent Nigerians at their checkpoints, for pittance. And for the "leaders", life goes on..! Ringim, is this the transformation of the force you promised? and you're hardly 3 months in the job. If I'm president today, God knows I'll throw away no less than 90% of the current police personnel and replace them with fit and proper, competitively remunerated men and women.

If you look at the casuallness on the look of the Hausa cap seller, you will know that the policement are not fighting. I feel that the other policemanstumbled and his colleagues are helping to stabilize him.
This does not mean that i have much respec for NPF. Just that I observed that if policemen are fighting, that cap seller and the other passerby wont just continue on their way.

Look at the picture very well. One of them looks like a Gwari man (IBB) and the other, from his hair cut looks like an Ijaw (GJ). The other one separating them, from his thin face, resembles a Fulani (Ciroma). But at the end, the Gwari man pinned down the Ijaw man. The Fulaniman mumbled, "I told you, cheating does not pay. You Ijawman give him back what belongs to him." ha!ha!!ha!!!

It all boils down to poverty, if the starting salary of a police constable is one hundred and fifty thousand naira,and the salary scale climbs up gradually and with the right training and ethics. this guys will never take bribe again, Pls help the police force if poverty is erased from our society you will no longer see miltancy, prostitution,armed robbery,419ers,etc. please Nigerians lets have an open mind always remember it is the stomach first and the society has failed the police so they cant argue for theirselves. lets come up with simple solutions and work as a team to correct all the failures of our pass leaders.it is the failures of the past leaders that has ended Nigeria into this big mess, but it can still be corrected

Take a good look at this picture , these Police men were not putting on thier cap that means they are doing something informal once you remove your cap you can do any thing informal the man the two men were holding may have recived a bad news from home , why should they use fist while they have AK 47 rifles if really they want to fight with them they may be celebrating thier promotion or getting ready to chease a criminal, they may evan be practicing unarmed combat which every mobile police man sholud know and practice at free time this is the best police in Africa bad belle people any thing to make the Government look bad you jump to it why did you not report the children rescued from kidnappers by police in jos ? they die every day so that others are at peace all law enforcement agencies should publish how many they lost in the line of duty including the army airforce and navy in portharcourt alone we lost more then 300 men in 2009 and 2010 why did you not report that in all parts of the world including Ghana every police man has a bullet proof jaket which is just #16,000 each whole price but yet we can not provide for our men you did not report on that how many of use are suffering from post trumatic disorder ? no body knows we are trumatised by what we see every day is it motor accident, dead body in the street, riot, armed robbery , you wake up in the morning and hope for the best we wake up every morning knowing we are going to see the worst what is all the fuss about ? GIVE US A BREAK FOR GODS SAKE !

I know this kind of situation firsthand. The mobile police people are use to oppressing the conventional policemen. It takes huge gut for convention police man to face mobile police - how much more now, more than one.

I salute the conventional police man for challenging the mobile policemen.

It just the uniform that separate both - otherwise, a conventional can become a mobile if he likes while mobile do 'de-mobe' and become conventional police.

The Nigerian police has always been the school of corruption, to which criminals graduate into the society. Again if the fight over bribery, they must be selling their guns to armed robbers.
