This demonstration is a fraud

There are civilize ways to debate issues with the Lagos state legislators. Disrupting public peace over policy issues that the Lagos state legislators considered in the interest of their state is petty. Okada drivers/riders are menace to Lagos state, and to Nigeria in general. Dealing with okada menace is a lose-lose situation for other road users. Okada drivers have sent many citizens to their early graves. Besides, driving Okada for a living is a form of under employment, and should not be a form of employment in the 21st century. Our moribund trade schools/technical colleges should be revitalized to offer courses that re-educate/retrain our artisans, who are mostly Okada drivers. Part of the reasons they became okada drivers, I suspect, is out of desperation to eke out are ways to find a mutually acceptable solution to the law that banned their activities. Needless I state that the "civil society group" does not represent the interest of the majority Lagosians.

okada menace

The okada riders in lagos state are going beyond what is expected, let Fashola place an outright ban on them

PDP parade

The so called protest is another PDP charade. They are failed party who have done nothing to improve the nation and peoples lives, which is why okada business is thriving. Even in states run by PDP, fashola has built more roads than all pdp governors and federal government combined. We are not dumd. PDP will be a dead party by 2015. Just continue your parade of fools with the so called directionless JAF or JAC.

No vacancy for PDP.

Re:The Dinos by Deri

Mr. Deri,hw many issues are u addressing at d same time?
Okada-I quite in support of outright ban of okada.Though,Fashola govt only restrict their movt but outright ban woild hv been better.Victims of okada would appreciate this policy cuz d havoc caused are far outweight d goodies they offer.
Regarding d helmet,a responsible govt will use Fashola style to pave way for enloghtment and understanding.
Pls,let us support him as good thing will never come free of cost.Let all of us find a better job to do rather than killing ourselves

Okada business is a shame to Nigeria!

Okada business is a shame to the entire nation! Whoever brought the idea of using motorcycles as taxi? Our leaders are just archaic in mindset. These leaders now prefer to fly in private or special aircraft and when these aircraft crash, as it is becoming the rule than the exception, it is a national disaster and flags are flown at half staff during their funeral. But have these leaders considered how many people die or are permanently incapacitated by these okada ridden by dirty and foul-smelling inebriated owners in the name of transportation? It is just a shame that Nigeria should be using such machines as commercial transports in the twenty-first century! A shame, a shame, a shame!

OKADA

If you want to know okada activities very well. Please, proceed to igbobi. There, you will take decisions.

Great Journalism, Sahara Reports

Sahara reporter, Please keep the flag flying. You are where the happening is happening and feeding us with the latest news of what is happening in Nigeria.
I live in far away Canada and I enjoy reading what you report with a least some good analysis of what is really on the ground.
You are letting the public know the exact situation on the ground, not what some people want you to report or not to report

Sahara Reporter is my cup of tea for latest news

useless sahara

you people need to have your head examined or probably take psychiatric test. Dont you get it that lagosians dont want okada. May be the protest was held in the sitting room of your MD. Lagosians will mob and kill any okada man that dares disturb our peace in lagos. or do they pay you a share of their daily sales. They should go and learn other trades. there are lots of construction sirtes where they can work as labourers instaed of us hiring foreigners or they return to their village to farm. You guys have turned yourselves to enemy of progress. allowing okada is taking us back to stne age. We strongly reject them. Enough is enough

The Dinos, Wahalas, tundemess

The Dinos, Wahalas, tundemess and Osita Diokas of the anti jonah killer squad of buhari, would not see anything bad in a government that spent billions of Naira from the oily resources of the SS, to buy crash helmets for motor cyclist during their electioneering campaigns in lagos state-only for the same fashola and tinubu corrupt government to make a U turn just hrs after elections were over-to crash the helmets into the lagas lagoon! Now it cost thousands of naira to obtain a CoO in LS. All the officials of the government from the land department does is to mark a building for demolition-and b4 u could say boko haram-naira has started flowing in the leaking pockets pockets of alhaji fashola and Imam tinubu! Yet d Dinos see nothing wrong with these clever rogues cause their names are not linked to that of Orubebe in the SS.

These people should find a

These people should find a jungle to live, my annoyance is when I see the so called civil liberty groups supporting this uncivil and archaic vocation called Okada riding all in the name of civil rights, so what happens to the rights of people they are constituting themselves as nuisance to? When Okada was banned in Abuja by Elrufai, where were those useless civil rights people? They should also go to Abuja and ask that Okada riding should be reinstated, Idiots!
Abeg Mr Fashola, go ahead, right thinking people are behind you! And all you Okada riders, please be ingeneous, there are so many legal ways of earning a living without endangering your lives and that of other legal road users.

okada + destruction

An average okada man would never agree that he has done more harm than good to the populace. Sentiment apart, the number of deaths and morbidities arising from okada-related accidents is alarming and in my opinion, Fashola has not only saved the helpless populace but even the okada riders themselves.
Fashola carry go joooo... !

Where are the protesters?

Where are the protesters? This is a hype in order to call a dog a bad name. Quite a sizable number of us in Lagos are happy with the Okada ban. Saharareporters, you no fit un
ban what has been banned.
