Early this year (2010) I wrote to Governor Ohakim requesting him, as a matter of urgency, arrange to Imerienwe. It is a matter of regret that uptill this time (28th December, 2010) the Governor has not deemed it fit to visit Imerienwe with a view to assessing the burnt hospital or even to send representative to see things. For clarity sake, Imerienwe is a town in Ngor-Okpala Local Government.

The Governor will do well if before the commencement of serious electioneering campaign to visit Imerienwe and her people and make commitment on how to fix this hospital back.

May the good Lord bless Imo State and her people and our able Governor in particular.

Owerri local government is the capital of imo-state we knows that.what about other local government areas like ideato-south and north.orlu etc.what have these local govenment done to deserve this kind of wickedness from the state goverment.for example,l never in my life heard that the governor of imo has visted this local goverment to see how deverstated area this area is.no aminities.light,water,no road and the worst part of it the eurosion which has med a lot of people loose their houses,what have you to do with these people when they finally left their home because of eursion.and you are proud calling yourself compitent.l still belive that we need a leader not a ruller.l know that you have sence of belonging and your spirit tells you that you will continue in that sit.you are a faliour and dont behave like son of the soil just think about yourself and leave the sit to those that will handle it.

You're right I was at home from USA on the faithful day of election. Ohakim name wasn't on the ballot. How did he win the election?. I am still asking the question no anwswer.

The so called Imo Governor which does not interest me to know who he is because most of the things I read about him and the development I saw when I returned home and travelled round Imo State is nothing to write home about.

Whoever is here defending Ohakim who not only personally brutalized a Journalist in his office is a man who can rule in a mad nation like Nigeria.

Many years ago, most of the well meaning dignified Nigerians had left that country waiting until people rise up to say enough is enough.

Unfortunately, many people are used to sufferness and cheating hence it has turned and accepted as norm.

One side, Nigerians are not to be blamed, even Ohakim and such heartless opportunists because they schooled under the same tutelage and mastered the scheme. To do things right and use collective efforts has not been witnessed by them: from Nnamdi Azikiwe, Awolowo, K.O. Mbadiwe, Michael Okpara to the present small Ohakim and LGA elected officials.

To waste time for O. Ikedinakoboko of Owerri Government House is what I do not have time for.

Good governance? Many Igbo Governors do not know what that is evem.

Achike Udenwa killed democracy, Ikedi Ohakim finally buried it in Imo State.

I am from Ngor/Okpala LGA & I can assure anyone that cares to know that there was nothing like election on the said 7th August; we only heard names over the state radio as having won election, of course no scores attached!

What beggars one's imagination is the allocation of only one councillor(that is lumping them to only one ward) to an area(Amala,Alulu,Obokwe,Oburu & Ntu towns) that merits a constitutionally recognized local government area. Hitherto, each of these towns was having at least a ward on her own, hoping to increase the wards to reflect the populations.

Succinctly, Ohakim's leadership is the worst thing to happen to Imo people.

Let's face it, no matter who conducts an election, some people will still find something wrong with it. I think the Imo election was free and fair and Barr. Emma Nwonye did a good job, based on my personal observations and those of some other analytical people I have spoken to. I don't know him or Governor Ohakim personally and don't care. But I believe it is wrong for people to always tear down anything they think is coming from someone they think is not their own person.

Reading through this report clearly shows that the governor of Imo State copied this script from governor timipre slyva of Bayelsa State. The entire procedure of election to swearing - in was the same. Sadly enough no matter all these outcries the cronies so selected would continue to appropriate and preside over the collective funds unabated serving mostly the demands of their principals (the governors)on our behalf. God help this country!!!

Another post on SR talks of corruption, and the comment on this post asking people to let Imo Be demonstrates why there's corruption in Nigeria. There are too many people out there willing to turn a blind eye or to defend corruption. Pakistan's cricket players cheated and the people in their country are calling for them to be killed. In Nigeria they would've been hailed as heroes for making money. This report here is so clear. There have been too many reports on Ohakim for us to ignore his activities. Yet someone is prepared to defend him!?!
Apart from executing all corrupt people, all their sympathisers should be gunned down also. I want what happened in Libya in 1969, in Iran in 1979 & USSR in 1917 to happen in Nigeria. For the sake of suffering innocent children it should happen immediately.

Pls Alh.Jega,state INEC should be overhauled if realy you want to succeed.Move them around if you cannot change them.If you dont want anarchy do not create any.We are looking forward to 2011 to know your worth.Pls do investigate the Imo local election.

The last Imo State local government election was a selection of Governor Ikedi Ohakim croonies & a sham.In Imo Indigenes do not know their rights and have abandoned politics and politicking to the wrong people. Thieves, 419ners, Illitrate streert rogues and former con-artist and scammers are now in charge of politics in Imo-State. These crooks in power are encouragesd by the re-silience of the masses and educated ones in Imo-Sates. This encourages their criminalty and blatant looting of the treasury. The behave the way they do because they have no mandate from the electorate. They are not legitimately elected but rigged into office by the party and clique of rogues.The political structure of the country need to be re-negotiated and a sincere electoral system put in place wherby one man one vote counts. By so doing, the electorate will be able to choose their real leaders and discard these chalartans in power.

I want to thank the writer for bringing this issue on this forum.On the day of this election i followed my brother PRINCE IFEANYICHUKWU(NWAJIMA GBUO AGU) who is a Labour Party Chairmanship aspirant in Ideato-south Local Government to our home town Umuobom.The ballot papers arrived the L.G.A headquaters by 8.30am in a New Face organization bus(a political association of the Governor)The Sole Administrator of the Local Government arrived in a convoy of many PDP Apex leaders in Ideato-South,they hard with them more than fifty mobile police men excluding men of the Civil Defence.Immidiately the arrived,one Mr BONNY EBIRI an S.A to the governor directed that every one should get out the local government premises.This was protested by other aspirants who came to see the ballot papers distributed to different wards,BONNY EBIRI directed the mobile police men to shoot any one who stayed back.
The mobile police men started shooting and we all ran out of the premises,we waited outside and the first bus was loaded for the Ogboko area,we sent some boys to follow the bus and the boys latter called to say that the ballot was taken to the house of one EZE-DURU IHEOMA.This was the case with other wards apart from UMUOBOM ward , the ballot paper was brought to central school 1 Umuobom by 2.30pm.upon observation we noticed that all the result sheets for Umuobom ward was not included in the ballot papers.As we were complaining the non-inclusion of the result sheets,what we say was the convoy of the Governor coming into the central school with more than fifty cars in his convoy.His men told every one to go back and we all did,he was then surrounded by his men and he told the crowed that he is in Umuobom to see that big man who wants to challenge his Government,he said that the man should come out now and he will necked him and tie him on top of his car and drive around Ideato-South.He then called the driver of the bus that brought the ballot papers and told him something,and as the Governors convoy was leaving the driver of the bus that brought the ballot papers entered the bus and drove away with the Governors convoy.My country men and women that was the end of the election in Umuobom ward.All the people that came out to vote for the Labour party candidate who is a son of Umuobom all left without voting.this my account can be verified by any one who was in Umuobom on that faithfull day.

Ikedia Ohakim is so fraudulent, he has betrayed the Ibos since he defected from PPA to PDP, I will like the EFCC to come into the State and look into the financial expenditure of the State, from the Local Government to the State House Of Assembly. They are all Horrible.

what went as local govt election in imo ,was a replica of the april 2007 election that brought O hakim to 'power'.Since after the tenure of De Sam Mbakwe,imolites have never had anything thing called good governance,caused with charlatans as governors and with the crop of so called stake holders who source of livelyhood is the state's treasury,only God can save us from this mess.A change is imminent let him plant his so called puppets in all the LGAs,when the chips are down ,they will see the light and work for the good of the people of imo state.

Take it or you leave it, Chief Ikedi Ohakim is the Executive Governor of Imo State. He has been given the mantle of leadership to lead the people of Imo State, period!

For Imo State to move forward, Governor Ohakim has to be given the breathing space to work for Imo citizens. The opposition group should keep in mind that days of God Fatherism in Imo State are over - Governor Ohakim is cleaning Imo State of corruption, and he must be commended for standing up against career politicians, whose interests revolve around sharing Imo State's funds.

This madness called election was held on Saturday, but by Wdnesday, a friend called a lady in Nigeria by 7.30pm who said that she was still in the office.
The reason being, that they were busy writing electoral results to be held the coming Saturday according to the amount of money supplied.
Even one of us who had been residing in London, was massively "written" in having borrowed enough money for this shameful project.
He is now being addressed as an "Honourable" chairman.
It is only in Nigeria that a thief is Honourable.
What a shame!
