Since we as a nation has refused to apologize to Coach Amodu, we will continually have it rough with our Eagles. We all described Amodu as a failure, meanwhile this was the man who qualified the country twice for the world cup only to be denied the opportunity of taking the team to the fiesta.

Who amongst Amodu, Siasia and Keshi perfomed the best? I make bold to say is Amodu, unless you can prove me wrong with facts.

The performance of our so called Super Eagles in the ongoing AFCON 2013 is a reflection of the rot in the entire spheres of our national life. There is so much decadence in all sectors including sports, health, education, petroleum, agriculture, solid minerals etc. I just watched the Togo-Algeria match and you could see Togo team's tactics and cohesion, accuracy/on-target professional passes, individual skills/confidence and rock solid defence. Nigeria survival so far in AFCON 2013 has only been due to individual skills. The deep rooted fundamental problems in our nation stem from absolute lack of vision and national ideology. My personal assessment is that Nigeria team is bedeviled by the gross inexperience of sports handlers occasioned by deep rooted corruption and god-fatherism. We really have a very long way to go in terms of revival our sports and national pride.

Barely a week a go, I remember an Igbo man from posting a comment on SR that the team as it were, was going to conquer the game; his reasons - The team consists of players from SS & SE extractions, and that they are the only ones who do things right in this country called Nigeria. In fact, he went further to call it a SS/SE team. Honestly, all of us from other part of the country can't agree less! GEJ, is the best thing that happened to Nigeria just like Super the Vultures (sic - Eagles)!!! Up SS/SE Super Vultures! This is typically what will happen when we allow an igbo (I Get Before Others) man rule this country - Total failure!

What is happening to Nigeria? Why has Nigeria been tottering in every aspect of life? Nigeria had the worst performance in international football in 2010. Nigeria had the worst performance in the Olympics in 2012. In the present AFCON tournament Nigeria cannot be said not to have made some preparations; but this is what we are getting! Each of these players is First Class in the game. But how come they lose all that first class attribute when they come together as a team? The same downsliding occurs in EVERY other aspect of life in Nigeria! Something is really amiss all over! Nigerians have to come together and ask: what is happening to the people and the country called Nigeria? I may sound defeatist or pessimistic but these players should come home to avoid another dismal performance and shame.

How can a whole team comes from one section in a country of 150 millions? Look at the first team, just igbo boys? Can someone tell me there are go good football players in other part of the country? Fail they will!!
