World's Best
Guys, give some credit...honour to whom it is due, taxes to whom they are due and the Ballon D'or Award one more time to L.Messi. Lets watch what happens this season.
i have no problem with Messi
i have no problem with Messi winning the 2012 FIFA BALLON D'OR award for the year or even for the 4th time. my only challenge is the fact that he was given the award for the year 2010. that was the year that FIFA did some foul play for the award. for God's sake, even if they want to be corrupt, they don't have to make it so obvious to the world that they love Messi without any reservation. let us hope that they don't use their greet disturb the flow of the game to the fans. we shall continue to watch football till the day God comes again to take his own. long live football, long live FIFA.
2012 Ballon dO'r Award
Ballon d'Or award has a consistent criterion in that whoever wins must have got the highest votes from a contigent of top coaches & captains of national teams, renown soccer journalists, e.t.c, who must have been convinced beyond thoughts by the purely, overall, consistent individual performances of such player for his club & country. It must not be only in scoring many goals, or winning titles, but more on the scope or broadness of the player's outstanding contributions. Don't get me wrong, a player can win it while scoring many goals (e.g Messi), while winning titles (e.g Ronaldo at Man Utd) or even while playing as a midfielder (e.g Figo, Zidane, e.t.c); the emphasis is on extra influence in the field of play. In the year that Sneijder won titles with Inter, he couldn't have controlled the play better than Messi did with his record of goal assists & his depth of skills (check the net to confirm such records in 2010).
MESSI HAS FOOTBALL IN HIS VEINS
This was the same Messi that mercilessly dealth with Nigerian in the under-17 World cup.He did not just happen. He is a trend. He makes football look so simple and enjoyable through his skills and good manners. What most people failed to understand is that these players are being judged by their behaviours on and off the pitch.Messi is a coach's dream and teammates delight. No controversies or unnecessary antics during matches. He is simply straight to the point ie scoring goals and winning trophies.Messi does not have anything to prove to anybody. He is a man of few words and he asserted that he's currently enjoying himself at Barcelona.Maybe he will retire in US like Pele. But at 22 he's simply a phenomenon and may continue to win more awards.Messi is a marvel!!!
THIS IS NOT NIGERIAN AWARD
If it was a Nigerian award Messi wouldn't have received this award.Reason: Na only am? Apply quota. He is from SE, he has taken his turn. Give to SW. Next give to NW. This time give am NE. Rotate it amongst the six geographical zones until it gets to SE again. This time in SE it must go to Central zone since he is from SE North.Of course by time it rotates and rotates the attraction and value in the award must have been lost completely. Killed and dumped in a thrash can. Just take a look at your National Awards and political offices!
Messi was voted on merit without bias by professionals-coaches,sports journalists and team captains all over the world. No mago mago. The guy is a genius, Ronaldo is equally good but has the misfortune of existing during Messi era.
messi messi messi messi
messi is the best player ever breaking record of about 46 years i am happy to be alive to see this history Lionel Messi's incredible record-breaking year in numbers ... every minute apart from seven (1st, 2nd, 10th, 14th, 15th, 46th and 69th) in 2012 . what more, messi 91 goals in a calenda year can u beat that.
Messi Breaks Muller's Record Of 85 Goals In A Calendar Year
messi has won Club World Cup 2011 -2012
Copas del Rey 2012
Rolnado deserve it not Messi
I feel Rolnado deserve the award becuase he has proven himself at all levels. Messi a talented and gifted player no doubt but he has a very good team mate to help me unlike Rolnado who helped his country and club. He was in the premiship and proved himself. Messi should go to the premiship and equal Rolnadoo's record.
FIFA is not fair on Rolnado.
This Ballon D'Or stuff is
This Ballon D'Or stuff is quite puzzling to me. Now I'm not trying to degrade Messi's achievment, but the logic that is given for his successive wins is very confusing. In 2010, Wesley Sneijder led his team to Serie A title, Champions League win, and World Cup Final, but Messi won the award for 'outstanding play and service to his team.' Last year, when Ronaldo broke all the La Liga records for goals, and scoring against every team, Messi won again because Barcelona won La Liga, and individual records don't matter. This year, Ronaldo leads him team to a La Liga title, and takes Portugal to the semi's at the Euro's, yet Messi wins because of his individual record for calendar goals in a year. Now I'm not saying Messi is undeserving of the award, but if the logic and critera is going to change every year for what makes a season exceptional, why does anyone bother to show up?
If just 5% of Nigerians think
If just 5% of Nigerians think like you do they will convince a significant %age of the remaining 95% and make this country good but unfortunately we don't have that. God bless u
Excellent!
He deserves the award & may he continue to play delightful football!
I WISH ALL CHAMPIONS WERE LIKE YOU
Very gifted and yet very ordinary and humble.
Lionel Messi again is the perfect study specimen
on how one can be so extraordinary and yet still
so very ordinary.
CONGRATULATIONS MESSI
no Zoning
The beautiful thing about the award is that, it was won base on credibility not zoning. Let nigeria emulate this let elect base on credibility not tribe or religion, even our argument base on objectivity not on sentiment. Like some folks will come and say ss, se,sw, nc ne etc. The oppressor don't av dis in their dico dey oppress all d tribe and religion. Fuel increase and scarcity everywhr, epilepsy supply of light, bad road, high rate of housing and corruption all over with no tribe excepted, I don't see y we shud not in one voice say to d oppressor dt enough.
