Stephen Keshi Says He Will Stay As Super Eagles Coach
Nigerian Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has reacted to rumors making round that he has quit his job as national coach.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Mr. Keshi ended speculations regarding his status saying that his initial complaints has been resolved by the Sports minister, Bolaji Abdullahi.
The press statement obtained by Saharareporters signed by the coach states as follows:
PRESS STATEMENT
My attention has been drawn to reports in the media that I have resigned my appointment as the Head Coach of Super Eagles of Nigeria.
While I have had cause to express my displeasure over some issues that happened in the course of our participation in the AFCON 2013, which my team won by the grace of God, especially concerning my relationship with the Nigerian Football Federation, I have since had opportunity to discuss the various issues with all concerned. I am therefore pleased to say that I have reconsidered my position and have decided to continue with my job.
I want to thank the Honourable Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, for his swift and kind intervention.
SIGNED
Stephen Okechukwu Keshi
12th February, 2013.

Keshi was a fool 2 have threatened 9ja-very unpatriotic
Only a pig headed fool will behave the way Keshi did-methinks he was on some drugs when he threatened to resign-and swore never to go back on his words-because of the expected millions from APC! Apart from that only a regionalist like Wahala would not want to identify the achievements of the eagles with the presidency of jonathan-Sia Sia would have done better-if he had been offered the chance-but as an Ijaw man-the tripod controlled state of 9ja will not allow 2 Ijaws be credited with such unique achievements! The most important issue here is that AFCON was won under the wings of an Ijaw president-u cannot take that away from GEJ! If we had lost the likes of wahala would have been here to say the resource control hat of jonathan was filled with badluck-and should der4 be forced to resign-
My brother, Keshi
My brother, Keshi disappointed me. He hasn't learnt from past episodes. They will just use, dump and rubbish him in no distant future. His best bet would have been to resign now that other countries may be ready to hire him.

re : "Keshi is a disgrace" ...then what was Sia-Sia?
@ Aborigine Deri :
To start with, delete Dumbo from the success of Ndigbo Eagles in South Africa, his badluck would have ruined the party that's why God kept him miles away from the action. God gave him jedi-jedi on Finals Day! If Keshi is a disgrace for bringing home the elusive trophy, how would you describe your arrogant cousin Sia-Sia, the Bald Eagle? Fool, coaches resign at the peak of their careers especially after sweet victories like Keshi just had, no one leaves on a Bad note. Drunkard, Keshi started with mistakes, listened/acted on criticism and achieved positive results. That he agreed to stay on is "patriotism" ...it's your Sia-Sia that "certainly lacks one!" for not listening to 9jas.
In Nigeria, corruption has the Head of Aboki and the mind of Ewedu. Ndigbo are just the janitors. Seperation Now. Animals!
I Agree
I agree with you The Ministry and the Sports Council staff are corrupt. See how they were already negotiating in South Africa .with foreigners who they use to steal when other Nations were, on the other hand, waiting to lure the same rejected stone as their National Coach? What kind of people are this and the government keeps tolerating them!
Remove corrupt officials who use foreign coaches to steal
We know that the minister and his corrupt staff are the persons who do not want anything good for Nigeria. Their behavior and body movement speak volumes. What else do you make of leaders who want to disgrace their compatriot in foreign land if he did not qualify his team for finals where some countries were jubilating for just qualifying for the games?
Who is saying that the minister and those who have been there before and now are better qualified than Keshi that they thought of sacking him for a foreign coach? Why did they not try it? Do this people understand logic?
FIFA President is on record to have said Africa will not win the World unless they stop relying on foreign coaches who are essentially businessmen in the Continent. He went further to clear the air when he insisted that such coaches are not patriotic, meaning their commitment is also limited. They can afford to do this because they believe they protected.
Time 4 SS&SE spring is NOW!..Time 2 control our resources is NOW

APC wanted Keshi to resign
APC may have jumped in triumph if Keshi goes ahead to resign because they know that the guy has become another GOODLUCK story for Nigeria. Of course he will pull another GOODLUCK stunt at the confederation cup. Up Keshi and the boys. UP GEJ
Keshi u are not sure of yourself period-na fear of d unknown
KESHI is the first coach in the world to achieve such a great feat-and have him threaten to resign based on fake stories told him by our good for nothing pail bearers-let them tell us the type of glory they have brought to the nation within the last 20 yrs-apart from d tears, blood and sorrows! they spray us with via boko haram! Yes ooh! shocked over d victory of GEJ in the just concluded AFCON tournament, them now want to use a political toddler like Keshi to rubbish the score card of GEJ-150m 9jas waited patiently for something to elevate their spirit 4 more dan 20 yrs-all we got was daily insult by dem on GEJ in Aso-now that he has won the hearts and minds of 9jas-d fake APC group-yearn to pour gravel on the pap he intends to use in celebrating his victory--Our troubles has nothing to do with corruption---its patriotism--and Keshi certainly lacks one! He has by this his callous act rubbished his achievemnts-what a shame!

bro, you should've resigned honourably, collect ur wad and move on, this lousy minister is acting swiftly because we won the cup, dont forget they intended to sack you, hmmm,
Merits!
See what one can achieve with merits instead of federal character. Oga stephen, pls don't compromise on anything. It is either you get what you want or go where the grass is greener. May your days be long and to those who see your success and that of your team as an IGBO victory, i beg them to allow me at least share and have a little of their joy. Well done and all the best from the bottom of my heart.

keshi stays on as coach
i sincerely hope the nff won't embarass him in a short while!
KESHI IS A DISGRACE! DELETE HIM FROM OUR MEMORY
I had earlier opined that Keshi was just attempting to bluff GEJ-harrass him into submitting to his watery ideas-He is the first coach in the world to have threatened to resign based on fake stories told him by our good for nothing pail bearers-let them tell us the type of glory they have brought to the nation within the last 20 yrs-apart tears blood and sorrows! Yes ooh! shocked with the victory of GEJ in the just concluded AFCON tournament, them now want to use a political toddler like Keshi to rubbish the achievement of GEJ-150m 9jas waited patiently for something to elevate their spirit 4 over 20 yrs-apart from the daily insult poured unto the lap of GEJ in Aso-now that he has won the hearts and minds of 9jas-d fake APC group-yearn to pour gravel on the pap he intends to use in celebrating his victory--Our troubles have nothing to do with corruption---its patriotism--and Keshi certainly lacks one! He has by this his callous act rubbished his achievemnts-what a shame!
Obviously Nigeria Needs Keshi Than He Needs Nigeria.
It’s no 'rumour' that the Big Boss called it quits. He did send his resignation immediately after the finals. His reason being that the Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba dominated (yes, from henceforth we must put pen to paper to tell who "dominates" what) severally threatened to sack him whilst the tournament was on. Another reason is that none of the promises, financial and otherwise, made to him and his players were met; the he’s actually being owed salary arrears.
Sources have it that what made him change his mind is the quick and personal intervention of President Jonathan.
That people who have never kicked ball or catch one have been managing Nigerian football tells us what kind of country we have. When tomorrow a true professional is appointed to clean the mess left behind by the Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba-run Nigerian Football Federation, same people and their quarter-backs will mount campaign of calumny, alleging one ‘favouritism’ or the other.

Keshi and resignation saga
Thats heart warming news to come from him. No time for press battles. Let him concentrate on the assignments ahead cos there's still much work to do. Enjoy all the limelight but talk less and work hard. If need be for him to go for any training to upgrade himself, the Federal govt. will be too happy to oblige him. Steven Okechukwu Keshi, congratulations and best of luck.
Keshi Stays
The truth is that it is very painful and saddening for people to buy coffin, dig grave and arrange for burial when their beloved one has not given up the ghost. For NFF to buy tickets and prepare Keshi's sack letter when they have not lost the match shows lack of respect, confidence, faith and very shameful. The problem of football development in Nigeria is the mismanagement as represented by NFF. Those behind this dastardly act should be sacked immediately. Their plan and prayer has failed because the success of Keshi and Super eagles has denied them their scheme to employ foreign coach where they hope to make money by influencing overbloated fee. Shame to NFF and Kudos to Stephen Okechukwu Keshi. Okenwa ka ibu.
No resign No gain
How hard can it be working with Nigerian Agencies? The NFF is a Mad house as other institutions in the country. Wat an opportunity for Keshi to bargain and rebargain his contract, I no blame am ooo. if it takes him to resign and unresign 50 times to get what rightly belongs to him then go ahead. Am sure he will soon resign again and then come back for the Continental Cup in Rio.
Negotiation Strategy
That is a good negotiation strategy to be allowed a free hand to move the team forward. NFF is corrupt.
shut up
Guy we know ur game plan, just stop shouting, ain u receiving the glory of the job?
Keshi 1
U ar an experience coach continue wit ur gud job, u too much
Keshi must not go now
The matter surrounding NFF Cabal must be public debate hearing. This issue of NFF Board shuld expose if truly we want to tackle corruption in d Futbal & other related areas
Na so na
This guy smart no be small, that's the smartest way to get pay increase big ups my brother keshi.
All hail the 'BIG BOSS!'
Now I'm falling in love all over again with the Big Boss, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi GCFR (Greatest Coach of the Federal Republic). After the first two matches, from the way the duo of Emeka Inyama & the the voluble Maigari were sounding, I suspected that, sneaky survivalists they are, they were already rehearsing for all eventualities. They were surrepticiously amassing stones for Keshi. Sorry NFF, you won't be able to stone this Stephen! You may have employed him but this matter has gone way beyond you. At the risk of sounding impetuous, not even a presidential directive coupled with a National Assembly resolution can unseat Keshi at the moment. Big Boss, please savour it while it lasts. Nothing do you!!
mba means NO in igbo language
Burkina Faso said they will deal wit us, we said "MBA", not on a "SUNDAY." Lo
Why our messiah?
Upon al d effort of dis man we wnt 2 pay him wit even, nawa 4 naija oh.
