Sources told Saharareporters that Mrs. Waziri was told to return back to Abuja on Saturday night as Yar'adua wasn't willing to enter into a fight with the senate over her appointment. Her recall also followed fresh allegations that she signed bail bonds to extricate the former governor of Benue State, George Akume from EFCC detention last year.

Saharareporters had earlier reported that Waziri was recruited by corrupt former governors and the current chairman of the governor's forum, Bukola Saraki of Kwara State.

Last week, Mrs. Waziri also met with US embassy officials to allay fears about her compromized background, but the meetings didn't go well, as US officials were said to be alarmed by her inability to address serious questions about her credibility and plan of action to fight corruption.  She reportedly kept telling US officials that she will "restructure" the EFCC as soon as she resumes to the job, but couldn't explain how she plans to do so.

Meanwhile, former governor of Delta State, James Ibori and the Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro  have continued to recruit fresh policemen across Nigeria to fill in for EFCC officials that the police authorities intend to transfer out of the EFCC as soon as Mrs. Waziri is able to take over.
