Mallam Uba Sanni and Ayo Opadokun in bribe scandal

 Newly appointed special assistant on public affairs to President Obasanjo, Mallam Uba Sanni and Chief Ayo Opadokun have been named in a bribe scandal involving the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Victor Attah who is currently running for the presidency in 2007. Chief Opadokun and Uba Sanni were said to have received the sum of N70 million and N50 million from the Governor Victor Attah during separate visits to him two weeks ago.

 

Chief Opadokun, former scribe of NADECO and an Afenifere chieftain was said to have promised to make “Victor Attah” the next president of Nigeria using his clout in the Southwest to mobilize for his victory in next year’s presidential elections.

 

The governor who was elated by such promise gave Chief Ayo Opadokun N70 million as a ‘gift’, the Kwara chief Saharareporters gathered he was so excited about the gift that he ‘tipped’ the governor aides who helped him move  the money the sum of N1 million .

 

Shortly after that he had a grand birthday ceremony where all the big guns in the southwest paid him glowing tribute. He also got a birthday gift of a brand new car from Ashiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the governor of Lagos State.
