Developing Story: Plateau State legislators make “impeachment “attempt on Gov.Joshua Dariye

October 4, 2006
The gale of impeachment sweeping across state houses stopped briefly today in Plateau State as 8 legislators ‘impeached’ their speaker Mr. Lalong and then served an “impeachment Notice” on the governor, Joshua Dariye.

Saharareporters gathered that the 8 legislators who had been in the custody of the EFCC were actually accompanied by officials of EFCC to Jos, the state capital where they carried out the impeachment of the speaker and notified the governor that he too will be impeached.

We do not have copies of the “impeachment notice” as at press time. Constitutionally, eight legislators would not form enough quorum to impeach the speaker or the governor.

  More to come...
