Sahara Reporters FAQs

October 11, 2006
While we are developing our list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), we thought it would be prudent to quickly dispense with one favorite question that has been coming up since we launched. It is about Registration. Please read.

WHY DO I NEED TO REGISTER?
You don't. Most of Sahara Reporters' contents are available to anyone with a browser and you do not need to register to acces or READ them. However, in order to be able to CONTRIBUTE and PARTICIPATE, you must have an account on Sahara Reporters. This helps us keep down on SPAM and BOTS.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY REGISTRATION INFORMATION?
Nothing. Registering gets you access to contribute. We do not sell or loan or rent ANY of your information. We will not willingly divulge your information - not without a court order. In fact, we want to know as little as possible about you in case we are compelled to reveal members information. This is why the registration form is so short.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER IN TWO PLACES (The main site and the Forums)?
No, you don't. You register ONCE and your account works on BOTH sides. We encourage you to register through the main site, but there is nothing preventing you from registering on the Forums site. It is all one and the same.

DO I HAVE TO LOGIN IN TWO PLACES (The main site and the Forums)?
No, you don't. You log in from any part of Sahara Reporters which displays a "Login" menu and you are done.

Please stay tuned for more FAQ. Keep the feedback coming. Thanks
