POLITICAL ACTIVISTS SPOIL FOR ACTION OVER ELECTION RIGGING
    CODERL STATEMENT   16 April, 2007   Pro-democracy and Labour activists in Nigeria have commenced mobilization of their various structures in the country to resist what they perceive as manipulation of election results across the country.   Controversies and violence have so far trailed election results in Edo, Osun, Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Ogun, Oyo, Katsina, Ondo among other states where the activists are reported to be spoiling for actions.   Mobilization commenced this morning when a leading labour activist at the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Denja Yakubu was mandated by the leaders the Labour - Civil society Coalition to circulate a notice to that effect.   The Pro-democracy community are said to be miffed and enraged by the rigging of elections result in Edo State where Adams Oshiomole was reported to have been openly cheated by the PDP, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo and Ondo states where they claimed Fayemi, Aregbesola, Ajimobi and Mimiko were said to have also been openly robbed by incumbency state machinery.   Addressing Journalists this morning in Lagos, the Leader of Coalition for Democracy and Rule of Law, CODERL, Mr. Wale Okunniyi who also monitored elections on Saturday condemned the electoral commission for a shoddy job said the Civil Society is poised to move into action over falsified election results and warned INEC to reverse elections results in those states in the interest of peace and democracy.   A major parley of leading activists in the country is expected to hold in the next 24 hours   Christian Ewelike For CODERL MEDIA
