Election Tribunal Judge home demolished to pave way for Bukola Saraki

June 13, 2007
The Implementation Committee on Sale of Federal Government Landed Property has demolished the residence of Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed a judge of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The property is situated at No. 17A, Macdonald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos was sold the house to Bukola Saraki on the orders of former President Obasanjo.
The committee under pressure from Bukola Saraki demolished the house even though there is a Federal High Court order which restrains the committee from doing so.
Justice Ramat Mohammed is a member of the Electoral Tribunal constituted to try election petitions out of Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.

Governor Bukola Saraki is one of the governors earlier adjudged  corrupt by the EFCC over his role in the massive corruption perpetrated at the defunct Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria (SGBN), a family owned bank wrecked by the Sarakis. The EFCC claims it cannot prosecute Governor Saraki, his father and other members of his family because the Sarakis have destroyed all evidences of corruption in the defunct bank.
