DSP Alamieyeseigha released!

July 26, 2007
After pleading guilty to charges of money laundering, fraud and corruption before a high court judge yesterday, DSP Alamieyeseigha was freed from EFCC detention today.

His freedom follows a "plea bargain" that would see him forfeit majority of his assets and monies to the Federal government. A source as the EFCC told Saharareporters that DSP has already completed his sentence of two years according to their prison calendar.

His companies are expected to plead guilty to corruption on Monday before the Federal High Court justice Shuaibu who will grant a final order for the forfeiture of his assets.

Saharareporters reliably gathered that DSP Alamieyeseigha's sudden freedom was facilitated by his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, currently the Vice President to Mallam Umar Yar'dua. Goodluck Jonathan was recently feeling his own "mortality" according to sources, as his predecessors in Bayelsa State threatened to expose his dirty linen which includes the embezzlement of N15 billion said to have crippled the new administration in Bayelsa State.

A "peaceful negotiation" between Goodluck Jonathan and his kinsmen led to his pursuit of freedom at all cost for the self-styled "Governor General of Ijaw Nation" DSP Alamieyeseigha.
DSP is expected to face his health problems in the coming weeks.
