August 30, 2007
Saharareporters can reveal that the Nigerian faces in the recent Willbros Group indictment by the U.S. Justice Department are finally being exposed with the arrest of Philip Chukwu, the Managing Director of the National Engineering and Technical Company (NETCO).

Mr. Chukwu and other unnamed NNPC officials were arrested by officials of the EFCC on Monday and interrogated over their involvement with the Willbross bribe scandal that has become the subject of grand jury indictment in the U.S.

In July, a grand jury in Houston, Texas, indicted Mr. Jason Steph, 37, for breaching the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977.

Investigators are interrogating Mr. Philip Chukwu, who worked at NAPIMS between 1998 and 2003 before he eventually moved to NETCO.
