February 20, 2008

At about 1500Hrs on Thursday, February 21, 2008,Femi  Falana, the West African Bar Association (WABA), the legal representative of the two men-Mr Henry Okah and Mr Edward Atatah- accused of gun running and terrorism, filed a suit challenging their illegal detention  at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

MEND spokesperson in an e-mails said, “Considering that the government pretends to follow due process, we expect government to comply with the court order requesting the men be charged to court or set free; thereby enforcing their fundamental human rights”.
