BONI HARUNA ARRAIGNED, DENIED BAIL

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today arraigned the former Governor of Adamawa state, Mr. Boni Haruna   before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Haruna was slammed with 21-count charge for stealing, fraud and abuse of office.

 Haruna was arrested last Thursday along with Alhaji Mohammed Inuah Bassi, who was also charged as an accomplice to the former governor.
  Justice Adamu Bello denied Haruna and his accomplice bail while he adjourned the case till Thursday, August, 7th 2008 to hear the bail application and ordered that the accused persons be remanded in EFCC’s custody  

 The former governor and his accomplice were charged for stealing N92 million using a shadow bank account opened with Guarranty Trust Bank in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
