INTERIM NATIONAL GOVERNMENT
NO FOREIGN ENTITY INVOLVEMENT
Conference of Nigeria Political Parties {CNPP}, in a meeting at Kaduna on Saturday 23rd August 2008, deliberated extensively on the statement made by the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP}, to the effect that the call for Interim National Government by the Nigerians United for Democracy {NUD} is meant to scuttle our democracy and that NUD is working with some foreign entities with the intention to destabilise the nation.
We were outraged by the statement, because of its national security implications and therefore challenge the PDP to go the whole hug, by exposing the foreign entities invovled and details of the plot.
CNPP in the meeting reaffirmed our support to the NUD’s call for Interim National Government, composed of patriots of unquentionable integrity, which will within the transition peroid, convene a Sovereign National Conference and conduct a free, fair and transparent election.
CNPP also wishes to reassure Nigerians that NUD is not working with any foreign group, either overtly or covertly and subscribes to the truism that democracy remains the best from of government, especially where the sanctity of the ballot box is upheld and the primacy of the peoples vote counts.
It is our considered view that the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} in nine years of leadership at the center; has failed woefully to Fix Nigeria, squandered our golden oil revenue age, corrupted our electoral system, our judiciary and indeed our naional prosperity.
CNPP notes sadly that the PDP, from all available records has no new idea on the table; except primitive accumulation of our oil wealth, increase of fuel price, jumbo salary to public officers and spread of poverty, which is at variant with the Constitution of the country.
Finally, we challenge the PDP to provide evidence to support their allegation; failing which we meet in the court.
