Ibori's Mistress Nabbed in Paris

December 30, 2008
The woes of former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, was further compounded as the French police earlier today (Friday October 31st 2008) arrested and interrogated his longtime mistress Udo Amaka  (Nee Onuigbo) Okoronkwo, in Paris in relation to the worldwide money laundering case against Ibori.

Saharareporters confirmed that she was arrested at Charles de Gaulle airport on a European arrest warrant. She had been in USA and was picked her  en route back to Nigeria on Air France.

European Union protocols means that the French police  have to examine the case against her and then she will be extradited to London. Saharareporters sources in Paris estimates that Udo Amaka will be in London by middle of next week when she will be charged with same offences as Ibori’s wife, Theresa and his sister, Christine Ibori-Ibie.

Two years ago Udo Amaka  (Nee Onuigbo) Okoronkwo, was arrested in the UK on April  12 2006 and would have been charged with Ibori's assistant, Bimpe Pogoson and Christine Ibori-Ibie (Ibori's sister) but Udo-Amaka fled to Nigeria before she could be charged by the Metropolitan Police in London, she was later arrested in December 2007 in Lagos and charged with Ibori before the Federal High Court in Kaduna for participating in laundering of public funds estimated at well over 20 million pounds sterling belonging to Delta State.

Ibori’s worldwide assets were remains frozen by a High Court in London pending further hearings.

Already, Ibori’s former special assistant, Adebimpe Pogoson, his sister, Christie Ibie-Ibori, his wife, Theresa Nkoyo Ibori and his lawyer, Bhadresh Gohil are currently facing charges in London.
