Cabinet Shake-Up:

•    17 ministers to go
•    Shamsudeen Usman survives, Aliyu Modibbo, Halima Alao and 15 others penciled for replacement.

The long awaited cabinet reshuffle might take place today in Abuja.  SaharaReporters has learned that at today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Yar'adua thanked members of his cabinet and stated that a few of them will be replaced.


SaharaReporters has learned that the number of ministers to be replaced is about 20.  They include Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister Aliyu Modibbo, Charles Ugwu of Commerce, Halima Alao of the Ministry of Environment, and the Minister of State for Energy, Hajia Balaraba Ibrahim.

SaharaReporters had previously reported that the Minister of Finance and his Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Modibbo, were slated for removal.  

The full list of cabinet members being dropped is expected to be released today.
