Reinstate Ribadu: We need fairness

January 23, 2009
My Fellow Nigerians Hello everyone, I want to acknowledge all our efforts in trying to bring sanity back into the Nigerian. If I may ask this quickly; when last was governance in our country Nigeria sane? The situation in the country makes people think so critical and it’s necessary for all Nigerians to act fast.

I understand that poverty is one of the factors that stop people from thinking and saying no to what isn’t right. It’s so sad. Which way are we going? Let us learn how to say no to what is wrong.  The removal of Ribadu was actually on called for. It was just like removing justice from the nation. What exactly is stopping the president from reinstating Ribadu? Mr President should act or has he no power to put his foot down in making sure that Ribadu is reinstated to his position. We all know he served well when he was in the capacity of EFCC chairman.

Even the rogues that want to intimidate the public with their ill gotten wealth know deep down that he worked hard. From personal opinion, I feel that Mr President has sat himself down to think about the issue but his hands are tied. Like the saying goes, ‘A man does not bite the hand that feeds him’, this I believe is the case of what is actually going on with the president. I feel he has reflected back and seen that if he should bring Ribadu back and he is allowed to carry out his assignment without any fear or favour, then the long arm of the law will catch up with him the president as well. He is aware of the power play that brought him the president to power. It goes like this: politics is a dirty game and his party played the game to the fullest before securing the seat of the president for him. Mr President, being a learned fellow, might not have actually involved himself in the dirty game directly, but the Godfathers (you know yourselves) that put him there have soiled his fingers and if they go down, they will definitely pull him down as well.   The patriotic citizens of Nigeria should rally round the president in making sure that he does not go down if he decides to serve the country in all fairness. He is free to come out and confess all about what went on behind close doors of the PDP that he thinks might be used against him if he decides to bring back Ribadu. We can do it like another OPUTA PANEL.

The country should be ready to forgive him and support him in carrying out his duties. People with integrity like Gani and other sincere human right activist and lawyers should be the ones to consults when it comes to this arrangement. And to all those that have stolen and made the masses suffer, they should know by now that it is a matter of time before the vengeance of the Lord fall upon them. They should ask themselves questions about the where about of Abacha. Even all his loots could not stop death from snatching him away.

Fellow Nigerians, it seams we have actually forgotten about leaving a good legacy for the up coming generation and the ones unborn. Look at Mandela, he stood for justice and his legacy is there forever. Lets change our mindset and help in saving Nigeria.
