Stop Alao akala Chieftaincy title scam!

January 27, 2009

Image removed. It is very important at this juncture to bring the attention of the entire indigene of Oyo State at home and in the diaspora to the frivolous spending of Mr Alao Akala of Oyo State.  It is quite unfortunate that while there are developments in other states, like Lagos, Ogun and even Osun State, Mr Akala has embarked on a spending spree like a drunken sailor to buy chieftaincy titles, birthday parties for his wife and mistresses and marriages for all his children, at the expense of the State.  The latest such frivolous spending will be the fake and illegal chieftaincy title that will be conferred on him in Eruwa on the 31 January 2009.

While the citizens are growing in pains everyday as a result of economic hardship, Mr. Akala has colluded with some unprincipled and over-fed traditional rulers in a scam of doling undeserved chieftaincy title on him irrespective of the feelings of their subjects.  He has used state money to buy as many as chieftaincy titles he can buy in Oyo State in preparation for his second term bid. We condemn this act and we call on the masses to move against the frivolous spending of Mr. Alao Akala in Oyo State.

It is on record in Nigeria today that Mr. Alao Akala Administration remains the most corrupt, dis-organised, and having no program apart from his looting agenda. In fact, former EFCC Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at a point declared Akala as the most corrupt and fraudulent in the history of Oyo State. While most of the indigenous students of Oyo State cannot afford to pay their school fees and their teachers down tools as a result of poor remuneration, Akala spent over one hundred million of the Oyo taxpayer’s money for his daughter’s wedding.  In fact, Oyo State under his administration has not been able to account for over 21 billion naira of excess crude oil money received by his government to-date.

On the 31 January 2009, another scam will take place in Eruwa, where Mr. Akala will be conferred with another fake Chieftaincy title of “Atunluse of Ibarapa land”.  Today, there are no good roads linking the whole of Ibarapa to the capital, the people of Ibarapa are still battling with guinea worm in the 21st century due to the lack of portable water. The people of Ibarapa have no access to electricity. The only polytechnic satellite campus in Eruwa has been abandoned without infrastructure for many years.  All the key appointments in the government of Akala came from his town Ogbomosho, despite all the rigging in his favor at Ibarapa local governments’ area.  I challenge the Akala administration to come out and give account of what he has done for the people of Ibarapa.  From my estimation, as the candidate of DPP representing Ibarapa/Ido federal constituency in the last election, Mr. Akala did nothing to have merited any chieftaincy title in the smallest village of the entire Ibarapa environ.

According to Nelson Mandela, “History will punishs those that use fraud and forces to suppress the yarning and the aspiration of the masses”.  An attempt to confer an illegal chieftaincy title on Alao Akala by using State money to induce some un-principle and money conscious traditional rulers is a big fraud that must be condemned by the entire Nigerian Nation.  The intent of those traditional rulers is contrary to the principle of Oduduwa, but an attempt to mortgage the future of our generation and the ones yet unborn in order to fill their pockets.  History will punish all the collaborators.  We call on all the youth of Ibarapa to boycott the ceremony and demand for free education at all levels in the State.
