IBB Hospitalized in Paris

February 28, 2009

Image removed.Nigeria’s most corrupt ex-dictator, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, is in a hospital in Paris where he underwent surgery to remove tumor from one of his hands.

Babangida quietly left Nigeria two weeks ago to undergo the process and has remained in the hospital, as is the tradition of former Nigerian leaders after paying lip service to medical care in Nigerian while they were in office.

Babangida's  legendary loot is hidden in France and Monaco (a small tax haven completely encircled by France). Last year, Saharareporters published photos from a lavish vacation of the Babangida’s in Monaco exposing an exhorbitant lifestyle including his private jet and expensive parties.

Babangida ran a kleptocracy that saw Nigeria lose $12 billion in Gulf war oil windfall in 1991 alone. He was forced out of power in 1993 after he annulled Nigeria’s freest and fairest election, which was won by businessman Moshood Abiola.  The events that followed led to Abiola's death.
