Fayose should keep quiet!

March 21, 2009
Image removed.Dear Ayo Fayose: I am writing you this open letter of appeal. Please, stop talking for God’s sake. This is a serious matter. As a governor of what should have been the greatest state in Nigeria, you had a lifetime opportunity to be great, to be a hero and write your name on the sand of time. Nevertheless, you messed it up.

I am not implying that every other  person is a saint, especially in a nation, where "you-surely-can’t-beat-them, you-must-join-them" is the order of the day. But you once lived in the United Kingdom. You would agree with me that the most enduring and lucrative business in the UK is agriculture, though it is hardly as visible as retailers like the AZDA, TESCO Sainsbury’s and more.

Despite criticisms and speculations made about you, you could have proven all wrong. You could have become Ekiti State governor for the rest of your life, if only you had meant well. “Brother Ayo”, as some girls fondly call you, you occupied a position, where you could have ignited a revolutionary fire to bail the nation out, not by carrying the gun, but by laying a groundbreaking example for the rest to follow. You had the chance. Instead of making a positive use of it, you almost gave Ekiti another name. With your closeness to the government at the centre and PDP bigwigs, you could have raised enough fund, invested honestly and heavily in agriculture, started OPERATION FEED MY PEOPLE, not a phony Poultry farm and turned Ekiti to the nation’s food basket. Instead, at the end of your regime, all speculations before you became a governor simply came to past. Many of us felt embarrassed.

I believe that you have a conscience. Yes. Instead of going about causing political confusion and adding more to the barrel of your sins, which is overflowing already,  for the sake this nation’s unborn generation,  why not own up, apologise to Ekiti people all over the world, return home, keep quiet, relax and enjoying your loot?

May God forgive people like you, whose mentors are IBB, Obasanjo, Abacha, Umaru Dikos, Barkin Zuwos, Sheu Shagari and the likes, who directly or indirectly, ignorantly or stubbornly pushed this nation onto the siege state it is now.

Please, Fayose, stay at home. Stop talking. Stop insulting the people of that great state.

Even if the media come to you, say, “No Comment”.

Allow the egg of the real Ekiti leaders hatch.

Do the State a favour, please.

Ekiti people definitely are not foolish, as you make the world to suppose. They know the truth.
