It now becomes important for intellectuals whose aims and motive in life is to attain grater heights and become relevant in the society with which they belong and interact with to work towards actualizing this aims by maintaining peace and tranquillity. With efficient governance and peace people are further transformed and placed into the society where they become useful. South-Ibie a small village located in Etsako west local government of Edo state just less than 20 minutes drive to the village of the comrade governor of Edo state Comrade Adams Oshiomole. South-Ibie has been covered with the evils of traditional tussle for over 11 years. Now the issue has degenerated to physical shooting and hatred among members of different families and supporters in the community
When Oshiomole was shown in as the governor of Edo state, many had the relief and feelings that the day and dawn of peace, progress and transparency have finally arrived in Edo state. With the recent kidnapping, cult war, and so on, there is a need for the action governor to take the bulls by the horns to ensure that this issues don’t degenerate in the state as a state with insecurity and individuals who feel they are untouchable or belong to a particular cult or have alliance with people in government or excess funds, there is never a development.
South-ibie is presently like a shadow town. This is a city sharing borders with the polytechnic and harbouring about 45% of the total student population. The issue of traditional tussle has destroyed the community and everyone now leave in fear. Those sons and daughters of the community whose dreams are to build or bring investments to this community now have divided thoughts as a community without peace or security can not develop. The comrade Governor should not claim ignorance of the fact that he is not aware of the situation and yet nothing seems to have been done. The Nigerian police whose responsibilities are to keep peace have taken the opportunity of the crisis to exploit money from both parties and as such watch the youths who are the leaders of tomorrow kill themselves without any reasonable arrest or response to keep peace. True governance they say starts from home. Please Oshiomole rescue South-Ibie from this problem.
The entire community hold you in grate respect and will stand and appreciate you for ever if a lasting solution can be attained regarding this issue that has destroyed the entire community. We don’t have to wait for the issue to become worst like that of IMEKE and IGHIKU where scores of souls and properties where destroyed as a result of the governments reluctant response when the issue was still at a manageable stage. Please Oshiomole, this is the best time for you to act and use your good office and wisdom to save South-Ibie. Our generation and generations to come will always have you in positive reference if this is successfully achieved soonest to avoid extreme blood shares
