Despite Yar’adua’s declaration that soldiers would not be drafted to participate in the rigging of the planned gubernatorial re-run in Ekiti state, soldiers were sighted in Toyota Hilux vehicles today in several towns in Ekiti state.
Also, thugs numbering 200 were brought into the state from Osun state in an arrangement brokered by Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun state as well as Senator Iyiola Omisore and one individual referred to as “Landos”, the thugs are accomodated in the “Osuntokun Lodge” at the government house in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Other places housing thugs include: Hilltop Hotel in Usi Ekiti where another PDP operative simply referred to as “Borishade” is hosting a batch of out-of-state thugs. Some of the thugs were also located at Celiat Hotel, Ifaki Ekiti and they are being catered to by one Otunba olarenwaju. Also in Ifaki Ekiti , a group of thugs have been located at Bafat hotel. Delink and Wuraola hotels respectively in Iloro plays host to a sizeable group of thugs. Mike Omoleye, another PDP operative in Ijurin has played host to about 70 thugs since Tuesday night according to eye witnesses.
Citizen reporters across Ekiti state have reported sighting movements of the violent criminals who would be kitted in army fatigues on Election Day in order to perpetrate violence against legitimate Ekiti voters.
