* These results emanated from polling agents from the 36 polling units in Ward 1&2 in Oye-Ekiti. The official results from the Resident Electoral Commissioner are still being awaited.

The controversial elections in Ekiti state ended less than an hour ago in the two remaining wards of Oye local government area. Collation of results are going on in Ado-Ekiti, with the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Ayoka Adebayo, presiding. Reports all across the two wards shows that less than 3,000 votes were cast in the election. 10,000 policeman stood guard across the two wards in a heavily militarized environment.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had claimed that there are 18,000 registered voters in the two wards.

Final election tallies are expected in about an hour, according to election monitors and party agents at the collation center. The most important results to be decided are those of Ido-Osi local government area where the ruling party, PDP, claimed to have won with a 15,000 votes margin.  However, Mrs. Adebayo resigned her commission claiming that she could not validate the results due to influence of the police and party officials of the PDP, who compiled the results in a police station across town in the absence of accredited party agents. The collation center was later torched by unknown party thugs

Out of 18 units, the Action Congress won in 12,  and the People's Democratic Party is winning in  6 units, according to early unofficial results obtained by Saharareporters.  The lowest voters count took place in a polling unit right in front of the home of Senator Arise, where 9 people voted ; AC won  5, and the PDP won 4 votes.

There are 36 polling units in the two wards.
