We are Niger Deltans, but they call us "Criminals"; Militants and now we are Endangered Specie

May 22, 2009

Not one of us choose where we came from or to whom we should be born, that was an all rights reserved of God. He alone knows the reason why we are the children of our parents and natives of where we are from. Being Niger Deltan has become like having the natural gift of Oil ‘doomed’; Being a Niger Deltan now means being a criminal, militant and thus marked out for economic, psychological and physical abuse or worse ; rape and gruesome death in the hands of the Federal Government sponsored JTF.  It’s been twelve days since the Gbaramatu genocide, despite the incessant calls by the civil society,  international organizations and indeed all well meaning Nigerians, the JTF boss insists there will be no cease fire until they have found the eleven missing soldiers. several people are caught up in the creeks and swamps, pregnant women in labour are dying, children are starving, dead bodies are floating all over our waters, floating like common bread, people are in their blood at Ogbe-Ijoh General hospital but we are searching for 11 men in warri, men who got lost in Gbaramatu, before we are completely misunderstood let us make this clear, everyone is entitled to life and health until the day God calls them home.

In this era of economic meltdown the Minister of Petroleum hinted yesterday, that Nigeria loses N8.7bn daily, multiply this figure by ten days and you will see just how much we could have made but lost instead, imagine what that could have done in terms of development in the region.  We have not been told how much JTF has wasted on this operation but knowing the way figures are manufactured in this country your guess is as good as mine. The search has moved into Warri, starting with ethnic cleansing and all you need is to be identified as Ijaw, immediately you are tagged militant and then qualify to be killed. All ijaw settlements are today marked out for attack. Sacking Gbaramatu kingdom like they did Odi, from Okerenkoko to Oporoza, from Oporoza to Kurutie, to Asama, Kunukunuma, Benikrukru, Kokodiagbene  all communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom gone. The question is, were the militant camps in the communities? The answer is no! Still not satisfied with the waste, the force has moved on to Warri in search of the camps, militants and or 11 soldiers? In all the spoils and vicious killings, all the reports say Camp 5 and Iroko camp are taken over, illegal arms recovered, no casualties on the side of the JTF, yet the blood thirsty JTF, House of Representatives and Presidency says the killing must continue. Who is fanning the ambers of this fire?

Each time there is any kind of crisis in the Niger Delta oil prices rise, like it has right now. Who benefits from it? Is it the militants? Those in government?, The military (EX/ SERVING)?  The multinationals?,  The Asian oil thieves? or the common Niger Deltan, who is today being traumatized, displaced, harrassed, wounded, raped, labelled and killed? Reading through the JTFs account you see his interest is ’OIL’ you listen to Dimeji  OIL, everyone in government right now except the troubled Governor Uduaghan all they speak of is OIL. The common interest here is ‘our OIL’, human beings are counted in dozens like eggs, yet people are sitting down and finding the time to blame the militants, what a shame. Have they completely distorted our minds? Was it because of militants that Umuechem, Ogoni, Iko, Odi, Odioma, Agge and others were sacked? Was Ken Saro Wiwa, who championed a non-violent campaign, a militant?

‘Whatever you do not want a Nigerian to see put it in a book’ this saying is so true about how the innocent people of the Niger Delta played into the hands of these deceitful cartel of government, oil magnates, multinationals, international economic hit-men, foreign policies and powers. Last year some of us saw the security report by the former JTF boss, Brigadier General L. P. Ngubane, and then the provision of military combat and intelligence training by the British Government. We  raised alarm at conferences, national and international calling for investigations the JTF and President Yardua denied its authenticity. The political desk of the embassies  were quick to deny any plot aimed at killing Niger Deltans, less than a year after, that script has begun to play out. Anyone who has ever watched the movie ‘Siriana’ will see the unseen hands of that collaboration. All communities attacked are host communities to Chevron.  Just in case you have not seen any of these materials please my dearest Niger Deltans get them and begin to diligently study them now.

An informed person is always ahead of his peers we can still save some of our communities from these cruel and brutal business men whose only interest is our oil. The script is only at Act 1, scene 3. There are 2 more acts and 6 more scenes. This is about National Economy not National peace and security as they want to make us believe. They will stop at nothing to push us into the ocean or relocate us to the Sahara. We have heard people talk about the East/west road and how Militants stopped the work by kidnapping the workers, and are compelled in the interest of truth to let the world know what and why they left. Two of our members were consultants on that project it was their responsibility to meet with community needs, hire and train local content staff, so we know the truth about what happened. Julius Berger was not going to do the work anymore because of the insincerity of the Federal Government who had refused to pay up the appropriate upfront deposit except Julius Berger paid the commission the Nigerian way.  But the policy governing Julius Berger did not permit them to ‘Kola-break’.  Thus, they were on the verge of terminating the contract, and had the need for a plot as to how to find the excuse for 'blame the victim strategy 'and hostage taking was the best option, convenient excuse to be used against a people who have build up the character and history of being criminals. The plot was hatched and that provided the excuse needed.

The members of Nigeria House of Representatives and there various committees successfully used the usually corruption strategy as was employed in the Rural Electrification and all other corruption scams to rob the Niger Delta region by stage managing the kidnapping of the Julius Berger staff, how treacherous. “Competitors terrorism” that’s what they call it. This is why Genocide means peacekeeping to the speaker Dimeji Bankole, and is a good humour line to  Bala IBN na allah the Kebbi state representative who opines that there is nothing wrong with 20million people dying so 120million  can survive,  a parliamentary joke. What manner of Insensitive, Heartless, Numb, Cruel, Brutal, Callous, Mean, Vicious , Sadistic , Ferocious , and DISHONOURABLE fools do we have in this House of Representatives? And by the way, what happened to the Representatives from the six Niger Delta States? Why did we not have a drama from them? We are trying hard not to be rude but let’s face it YOU are part of the 20million MILITANTS marked out for death. Take this advice folks come home. All our representatives from all the six Niger Delta states in the National Assembly return home. STAGE A WALK OUT AND LET’S KNOW WE ARE NOT REPRESENTED AT THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

ALL MILITANT REPRESENTATIVES RETURN TO YOUR MILITANT REGION NOW.
